Hi folks.... I just discovered a "strange" phenomen...

On my CAB the table is verry laggy and I have severe stuttering on the ball...  :console:

BUT I changed the following setting the registry -->  DDRAW=0

And now I can play WITHOUT ANY STUTTERING...  :lusty:

I did NOT use force fullscreen, so it´s something weird, isn´t it?????? :stunned:

Do you have experienced equal issues?????????

Space Station is / was the only table with a lot of stutter... (I am not playing TWD ) ... I started to install the "Force Fullscreen" feature... but I stopped right now, due to this surprising success... :juggle:

AFAIK the DDRAW is "only" used for rendering a virtual DMD, isn´t it???    So maybe I try to disable it for ALL my tables (I own a real DMD)...

I test it in the next days...   I think you only changed 2,3 tables with stuttering with this, dind´t you? :hmm:  (Testing this vsync feature makes me dizzy some weeks ago... :stunned: )

With  DDRAW=1 (=default) I got a framerate from 60-160... (average 94)        (with big stuttering :BDH:  = NO JOY to play the table....)

with DDRAW = 0      my framerate is constantly 60 (average 63)...        (but it´s stutterfree :dblthumb:  )

(I don´t know if "FPS = 60" is good (enough)????... some guys wrote something about 190 FPS....)

In my experience, 59-63 fps is plenty fine. If it drops to the 30s and under, I have trouble with, of all things, controller lag to the point of unplayability.

At the top of the script, try the options for HighGraphics and the in-game display. Should give a decent FPS boost.

Also make sure you are running the latest version. 1.1 should be a lot more memory friendly.

Hi nFozzy

I´ve tested the option...  your script options are VERY VERY WELCOME, since VP can´t be too smooth :juggle: and even a noob like me can understand the options in the script...

Also this COOL feature (never seen before) to change the lights with the magna keys... (never seen THAT before!!!!)... :love39:!

Thx for all the FANTASTIC work........ we spend so much hours with pinball..... childhood dreams come true!!! :lusty:

I will look into the VP options... something has to "limit" the FPS on my CAB...  (I don´t know if it´s the VSYNC options.... or what else...)

I have so many stutter-free tables.... but some are running with exact 60 FPS... and some are running with 160 FPS...   Why are they different at all???   Is it just a thing of tuning, or is it "only" in the scripting...??? :stunned:

I've got tables running at 200+ fps... and Solar Ride runs around 60 on the very same rig. I think it's a combination of script and what sorts of things you're doing on the table.

@sifusun if you notice in stat's picture the option

FPS Limiter / Vsync (-1 = default) is set to 1

which overrides the global option, found in the options menu (Vsync)

Setting it to 1 globally and making sure all tables are set to -1 will have all tables run at 60fps

Sifusun, haven't read the whole thread, but turning off playfield reflections helps remove stutter on my cab.

same here (and always vsync=1 as a global setting)
