Quick note.. for anyone who paints their cabinets, or paints anything, I have always used Krylon brand paints when I can. I needed several cans of black glossy paint, and there was not enough of Krylon at the store, and what they did have was very expensive.. So, I got this Rustolium for the black. MISTAKE!

The Krylon MAXX as shown is what I used for the red and gray stripes on this cabinet, and it layed down great, as Krylon always has for me.

Highly recommended!

The black Rustolium American Accents I was not impressed with. The volume of color is great, but it does not spray very nicely nor did it lay down as smooth.

I'd use it to paint random things or lawn furniture, but not another arcade cabinet.

In fact, from now on, I doubt I will EVER do one of these in a glossy finish again!  :stunned: Next one is going to be satin.

Also have considered one of the "hammered" finish paints, since they tend to be durable, look cool, and very forgiving.

Had a lot of free time this weekend, so I was able to get Pinbaby #1 completed! Just in time for delivery to Cleveland, OH this week!  :)

It looks pretty good, works splendidly, and I'm actually jealous. These have 24-inch 1920x1200 screens compared to my 21.5 1920x1080, and while it's not a huge difference it does feel more immersive. That is probably also do to being fully enclosed, instead of the "pop up" screen on my other one.

It's a shame I have to tear it back down to transport it... I'm having to much fun. It's like getting a new car, haha.

About $950, give or take. At current hardware prices, compared to 6 months ago, could do the same thing for close to $900.

I haven’t seen Lyanheart on the forum since he built his mini-pins.

Take a look at his original mini-pin thread for some ideas.

And his youtube videos.

What I see as a big difference between the original & this newer version is the way the vertical side pieces (that extend to become the sides of the backbox) are attached. The original has them fastened to the outside of the main cabinet as seen in the videos. In the new version they are fastened to the rear edges of the main cabinet, in effect extending the length of the sides. IOW a butt joint & it looks seamless as shown in the videos. IIRC he used a piece of plywood on the inside of the cabinet to attach the pieces. I remember this because I was gathering information in order to build a mini-pin.

Well I decided decided to build a Baby Pin based somewhat on the one in this thread. However being more of a traditionalist I'm not making it one piece. I've built a lot of photobooths in the past but this pinball machine looks like it will be my most challenging build ever.  I have little spare time so I'm mainly going to update the progress on a facebook page I created because I find it easier to use my phone to update.

I found a copy of Lyanheart's plywood parts list & layout for cutting. I printed it some time ago when it was available. Here's a scan of it & hope it helps someone.

The handwritten sizes & panel names are my notes.
