@rothbauerw: Looks like Farsight have updated TPA. Will need to adjust the memory address and release a new version. Will keep you posted.

@kruge99: For TPA for sure (when it's working again, see note above), the problem with PBFX2 is that in desktop mode they don't render the DMD nicely in a separate window that is easy to grab. If it's fixed somewhere on the screen you could try to grab it with the screen grab option though.

@Freezy. Hi, first of all thanks for all the good work you are doing!

I see in your last post that you need to do some adjustments to the DMDEXT for TPA. As I am just setting up my cab for the first time I was wondering if this has already been done and that I have another problem. As it never worked before I have no way of telling. DMDEXT works perfectly in FX2, but is not working in TPA.

I just downloaded everything from steam on the cab and my version of TPA is 1.51.8 Wanted to let you know because I can also not find a version of the freecam mod for this version so I was wondering if it is known already that this version is out. Latest I can find mentioned everywhere is 1.50.12

EDIT: Sorry just read on GitHub that you and NoEx are already on it !!! Thanks again !

Hey freezy, just wanted to let you know that pro pinball just released real DMD output for PinDMD2 and will provide resources to add other devices. Didn't know if you already have it on you radar.

Add another table to the list I need to install if this support comes! That is exciting news.

@kruge: TPA yes, when I get it working again with the latest update. For Pinball FX2 I'm grabbing the standalone DMD window, so it needs to run in cabinet mode.

I've also added Pro Pinball support, works great on desktop as well.

EDIT: Duh, was stuck on page 1. Got you answered twice then ;)

When I used dmdext with PROC and Cactus Canyone Continued I  mirror the dmd onto my pin2dmd  but it makes the table stutter.  I use dmdext for pbx without any issues, granted its not mirroring. I have a beefy rig, win 7 gtx980ti so no worries there.

Any ideas?

Mirroring pixels is quite resource-intensive and I'm not sure how much CPU the Python stuff eats. So I'm not surprised. Adding dmdext integration for PROC-based games is still on my TODO list.

PSA: TPA support has been fixed and will be in the next release (thanks NoEx!).

I've released a new version. Please give it a spin and report back. Two things to consider:

  1. You must run dmdext before running TPA. Quitting dmdext and relaunching without restarting TPA won't work.
  2. Note that frames will only come in once you start a game, attract mode won't display anything even though you see the DMD running within TPA.

If you have performance problems, try --use-gray4, this will avoid unnecessary upscaling and sends less data to the DMD. It also allows you to set the color tone using the new --color option.

Enjoy!

EDIT: Of course huge credits to NoEx who updated his code cave. Good news is also that this version will work with all future updates of TPA! Cheers man!

Running great on TPA - my system is Windows 10 Pro with pinDMD v3, GTX1080 - zero performance issues

I'm not sure how to set the --port command ? What is the argument after --port ? It's on COM3

Freezy, you guys friggin ROCK!  :band:

Does a "--port" command even exist? On my PC dmdext is looking on COM3 for my PinDMDv3, but it is on COM5. How can I tell it to look on the correct COM port?
