Ok thanks. I can't seem to get it to look as good as the old VP9 version. Hopefully there will be some VPX tables made for cabinets.

 

 

The beauty of VPX is that a single uploaded VPX table can be both desktop and cabinet ready if the table author takes the 10-15 minutes to adjust the screen settings for both in a single release.

Then the cabinet user simply has to select a single checkbox in the global settings to instantly make all the VPX tables they download work in a virtual pinball cabinet.

VPX has settings for both desktop and cabinet/FS in it, no need for separate builds for each, so essentially all of them are cabinet tables.  That being said, some people that build tables only have desktop systems, which I believe is the case with JP, in which case it is rather difficult for them to optimize the table for a cabinet.  

 

edit:  oops didn't see Kruge's reply before mine. although what I said about some authors only having desktop systems still applies, and in my case my cabinet has the playfield in portrait orientation unlike most of the rest of the people on here so my settings will not work for most.

Is there going to be any way to tell which tables have a cabinet version included and which don't? In VP9 this was much simpler for us clueless users. I simply went to the download area for cabinet tables. While the idea of having both versions in one file is great in theory if tables don't include both and there is no way to tell which do and which don't I see this as causing a lot of confusion for us simpletons....

All are for DT and FS ( Cabs ) ... at some, you have to adjust the FS Settings (Rotation 270, ...) or/and try with the Solution as i said above ...

Uncheck: Use DT (if you check this, you have the Table as DT Version = use DT Settings) ... all is on Editor: Backdrop / Properties Window (Settings for DT and FS )

Mostly, if at FS Rotation is "270", then it is ready for FS ...

Well honestly while I can get this table to work in my cabinet and it looks pretty close to the VP9 cabinet version, it simply isn't as good visually as a table designed for cabinet mode. I'm not trying to be critical here, it's just my opinion and experience. If this is the new way things are going to be with VPX ok. I'll just stick with VP9 cabinet tables.

Honestly, I appreciate everything everyone has done in creating these great tables and I'm not trying to be a jackass here.

The truth is that there is a bit of a learning curve here, but the results are well worth the effort.  If you go into the background settings, you can change the FOV, offsets and dimensional proportions to make the table really fit your monitor the way you prefer.  A little effort and this particular table can look significantly better than the VP9 version.

Why don't you look at the backdrop settings you liked in VP9, write them down on a piece of paper, open the VPX version of the table and overwrite the ones the author used for the Fullscreen table view setting and save the table to a new version name and see what the result is? 

 

It's really simple to do.  I really don't understand people's fear of the "almighty" VP editor. 

If you make a copy of the table you can always have the original just in case something goes wrong.

Just having added VPX and found some tables with cabinet settings to my liking / at all, I've found the correct settings area, and I agree, the results are worth it.  Not all tables need the same settings, but its not hard to figure out.  I'd say 90% science in the editor and 10% trial and error for any table you tweak the settings on.

Hi to all. I love this table. But i have a problem when move the DMD to second monitor. When lanch the table, i select with mouse the DMD and change dimension and position. So it's work correct, but when exit and play another time, the DMD display in other incorrect position, in the middle from the first screen orizzontal and the second screen in vertical for the BS2. The other tables i use never had this problem, i move the DMD in the correct position and it's hold in the next play. Why this append for this table. I try to move and setting the posizion and dimension the text box in editor, but nothing append. Any solution? Thank's.

UPDATE

 

2.1.0 Updated 04.01.2020
- adjusted physics to my latest arcade physics
- adjusted FS POV for cabinets
- made the dmd not transparent in the desktop version.

 

I'll be updating a few of my tables, mostly the ones called "DT" with a default FS POV which fits better to the cabinets. I'll also be updating the physics. The original tables will get the DMD at the top of the table, I guess better than on the apron

Edit: I guess it was only 15 tables uploaded. The last one I'll upload it tomorrow. I still have to check some lights. It is a new table, or actually a very old Spanish table

JP, like the other members, I thank you for all your efforts on these features for Cabinet Users and of course all of your awesome tables. I know we all appreciate them.  Unlike most of the other users I keep my playfield & OS in Portrait Mode, then rotate your tables back to 0 Degrees and do a few small adjustments to the aspect ratios and field of view. All of my 3rd party pinball apps are formatted for a portrait oriented cabinet 1080 X 1920 so I can face the cabinet head on when I need to do administrative tasks.

I have flipper lags on this table ?

Latest versions of: Vpinmame and VPX and nvidia drivers

 

Any ideas ?

Flipper lag does very often happen at the first time you run the table and initialize a rom that has no previous nvram saved. So, if this is the first time you run the rom, just exit so that pinmame saves the "essential" nvram and restart. Make sure that you completely exit vpx ( the editor ) as well.

 

The second most common issue for lag, is mostly for cabinet players. Running a db2s not set to exe mode can lead to such problems as well.

 

The third thing is of course a not strong enough computer, but, for this table, I doubt that it being the issue - you would see it in every table if that is the cause.
