BASIC BAM CONFIGURATION FOR CABINET

First of all

- Go in Future Pinball \ BAM \ cfg Folder and delete all the files inside.

DOWNLOAD this configuration

- Copy downloaded file in  C:\...Future Pinball \ BAM \ cfg

- Start Future Pinball and press File\New (default new table will open)

- In Future Pinball editor under Preferences\Video Rendering Option check the "Arcade Mode" and set the Rotation to 270 or 90 (depends on your monitor) as showed in the pic below:

 - Ngfxset.jpg

ravarcade  write "

Forced Arcade Mode

- BAM-view/Arcade mode accessible from FP "non-arcade" mode. (lets call it "Forced Arcade Mode")

To enable it:
1. In FP in "Video/Rendering Options" uncheck "arcade mode"
2. In BAM menu go to [Addons] menu. Here is switch "Force Arcade Mode".
In this mode You will have same view like in FP Arcade Mode with BAM, but all objects will be visible. (Pinball box/chassie, backbox objects on playfield monitor ....)"

Always believe in Ravarcade, but this time to me!
You are making confusion between forced arcade mode and arcade mode.

1. Forced arcade mod is ti have the arcade mode in the desktop monitor (without rotating physically the monitor)

2.arcade mode is for cabinet users, so dire who have the monitor rotated

Newer, try it with this: BAM_v1.2-96.zip, [12 may 2015] ( Link: http://ravarcade.pl/?en_download,16 )
With this, only you have to put the "BAM" Folder in your FP Folder, like this: http://ravarcade.pl/...installation,18

PinballX
Working Path: C:\Games\Future Pinball\BAM
Executable: FPloader.exe

Add to Parameters: /STAYINRAM /open ....

I (re)started with FP since the Minions Table ... ;)

Its only a bit too fast with BAM ...

Really good tutorial Pincade! Thank you :D

I have been reading through and following all of the steps involved here and sure enough I understand now how BAM works and have FP working in my cab! I see how you can run tables with any physics now through the use of BAM. Since this is working I can finally enjoy many of ROM's original tables in my cab :D

I think I have had a bit of a closed mind since running FP years ago and thinking ..wow these physics! Not the case now ..really am pleasantly surprised. Anyway .. had to play a game of Master of the Universe! Such a fun game :D

Really great explanation. Thanks Pincade!

Only one Question: How do i know which Physics are the right one. On PinSimDb there are a lot Tables that give no Info on which Version the Table has been created. So i try for example Table "X" with the default 1.0.xml. Result is slow floating Ball and powerless Flippers and/or Plunger. Then trying the next one, say 2.4 or 2.5 and the Ball goes on spinning rampage all over the Table... neither feels right?! Where can i find Infos on all those older Tables? Is there a list or something somewhere?

Oh and yes.... one veeery last Question :) Most of the newer Tables come with their "Physics" Zip File. As good as the Idea with the Default Table is, i would prefer to have a corresponding Zip File for every Table i have in the Tables Folder. Can i just Zip the xml for that reason?

Oh Stat i read today your Post this post......Thanks for the Infos, but my Future Pinball setup work since 3Weeks now but without Bam.
I dont like the Bam Size for much Tables to small i think..... so i make by Hand one by one Table and save it so i have a better Optik in all my 111FPTables in my best of FP Collection..
LedWiz is also working great now, and the Shaker is really nice Toy.....

Only i missing in my Cab is 2 Strobos and a Undercab Light....

I'm finally making some time to tune up my cab.  It was all purring nicely several months ago, but during an antivirus or OS update a bit ago my BAM/FP install was broken.  I didn't have time to fix it then, but I'm trying to work on it now.  I did a fresh FP install - everything works ok.  Then I installed BAM.  When I launch from there, things hang w/ an FP error dialog.  Oddly, when I kill the error dialog from the task manager FP continues to launch and BAM works fine.  Suggestions?  Thanks!

Runtime Error 216 at 00002D24

I tried adding /STAYINRAM, which didn't change anything.

Really strange problem:

it's a Windows 7 or 8 system?

I assume that is your antivirus that lock FPLoader.exe, try to disable your antivirus or create an exception.

  • Did you check this
  • Right click the files and select Properties in the context menu.
  • Select the General tab in the properties window.
  • If you find the text _"This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer" or somthing similar on this tab, click the Unblock button.

Windows 7.  AVG Antivirus was what originally broke my perfectly good BAM setup. :P

I did make sure it was set as a trusted app and granted it a virus exception when I reinstalled everything.  I've given admin permissions to both FPLoader and Future Pinball too.

Puzzled and irritated...

I'm pretty sure is avg.
Completely disable avg or uninstall it (no problem, today the only work of an Av is to notify fake virus and let real menaces enter)

Sadly that didn't do it.  I'm thinking of trying an older install of BAM.  The last time I'm certain it was working properly was last Spring.

I noticed when I installed bam, it made my vp tables stutter. I did a adaware scan said bam is a Trojan horse. So I cleaned it. My vp tables ran smooth again but no bam. I want fp with bam in my setup. But not at the cost of ball stutter on vp. Hopefully this issue gets fixed both are fun. Once it stops the vp stutter I will gladly have both. Thanks for the tutorial pincade.
