This night mod/lighting update turned out really nice I particularly like the ambient glow/reflection of the pop bumpers on the plastic ramp.

Played a quick game of this recently and I was thinking the primitive soccer ball could benefit from having alternate maps rendered out with the 3DSmax motion blur algorithm applied.  If you followed bodydumps WIP thread, you'll see I helped with the spinning wheel in the middle of the play field and rendered out motion blur frames for the wheel when it starts to spin, it transitions from slower to faster motion blur on the texture map which makes for a pretty realistic result.  If someone was interested in implementing this to the table (someone with more knowledge of scripting than me) I'd be happy to provide them with these alternate maps with a texture baked model.

Also I'm not sure if zany's version of the ball was used for this or not but I guess I'd also investigate which would be best for use on the table, I know zany's had a specular shell which creates a realistic lighting effect on the ball which would probably look nice as well.

Here's an example of the motion blur applied as the ball speeds up to full speed, keep in mind that this blur coupled with the actual motion/animation of the ball is what will "fool" the eye into perceiving a more realistic motion.

[edit] Also I suppose we could also make alternate maps to make the ball 'glow' and appear to have a light inside of it.

To see this type of blur effect in action, you can see it in a video that bodydump posted in his WIP thread.

Dark, great idea :)

Agree about the lighting around the bumper area on this table, probably some of LW's best work I'd say.  Also like the lighting around the kickback, with the reflections off the side wall.

Hopefully, someone will be able to pick up on your idea for the ball.
