I already thought about building Waterworld. But this table has some toys, which have to be implemented as primitives. Unfortunately I have no access to this pin, and no access to a 3D scanner.

Hmmm...

My work was rated one star? Is it really that bad? I have to get better ...

I assume someone clicked on it by mistake.

Yes, I know, I only was kidding.

In first instance, I do the work for me and my cab and my family that uses my (our) cab. If I think it's good, my goal is reached (was that correct English?).

Vector was one of the games I -once- wanted to buy (mostly because of the kind of 3D intreging backglass).

Last week I found Vector here on the download section but mmm graphics aren't 'great' if not to say otherwise.

(but I enjoy the play).

So...looking forward for your version of this table, thanks in advance for the good work!!

Sindbad, what software are you using for your redraws?  They look really good.   I have been doing a redraw on GNR for over a year (I know, I know) using Adobe Illustrator.  While vector rendered graphics look great, it's hard to get them just right  (all those green leaves in GNR are my sticking point, I just can't get the shading right!).

I use a mix, it's 75% GIMP, 15% Photoshop and 10% Paintshop. Photoshop and Paintshop are licensed. Shading can be done in all three programs, I prefer GIMP. As far as I remember is Illustrator a vector orientated software, am I right?

Yes Illustrator is vector.  Vector drawn images are nice because they are infinitely scaleable, but they are more time consuming.   I also have licensed copy of Photoshop, but I prefer to work in Illustrator for these type images.

I'm not familiar with GIMP.

Sindbad, I use Gimp as well (freeware you know). How do you scale up an image wen the source image is just too low resolution?  I figured you were using something vector so you could trace it to scale and then scale up to the size you need.

Shadow,

when it has to be resized, it has to be redrawn (at least parts of thze playfield). Yes, I simply scale it to the double size given in the table dimensions Manager in VP. In case of Vector it's 1904x3948. The I draw all the - what I call - outlines with black color and I use 100% pathes for that. After that, I can combine pathes to new pathes which then form an area that can be filled with color. So 80% or more is drawing the outlines. The rest is pretty simple.

For me (I'm a one-Man-show except for testing) it takes a minimum of 50% of the whole table building only for redrawing the playfield.

So it was time to give the picture of the first post another update. The d*mn hand of the upper playfield took nearly three days: 28,5 hours in sum. Because resources (images) are very thin, the bubbles (or whatever it is) on the upper playfield are more fantasy than a copy of the original playfield. But it won't impact the play fun, and as long as nobody compares it to the real table, you don't realise it during game play.

I just took a look at the current state of the redraw and I can't get over the quality of it; such amazing work in such a short time.  I know most (including me!) can't possibly understand the workload involved in redrawing something like this, as there is SOOO much detail within every inch of the playfield but jeezus, that's just great work and you must know that although most virtual pinball community members may not understand the time and energy it takes to do something like this, we most certainly appreciate very much your dedication to such a task and the results speak for themselves!

Thanks for your comments. If you like it, I'm on the right path. So the playfield is done, picture of first post shows actual status.

I'll now start building the table.

Great work. Like the theme.
Did vector exist as a movie oe comic, or is it some sort of tron rip off?

Hi Sinbad. My buddy just bought a Vector for $200 last week. We are both VP fans and he'll tear apart anything you want to get you good resource pics. Let me know what you still need. I have full access.

Hey, that's great. Thanks for the offer. Maybe I'll need some more pics. If I need something, I'll contact you.

Mpad,

as far as I know, the theme was one of themes that were not leaned against something real (whereas movies or comics aren't real at all) and was the result of a brainstorming within the project team.
