Note: These demos are actually alot faster, just slower in the video due to the video catpure.

It actually plays in realtime without a hiccup on my machine but the screen capturing software made it choppier than I would have liked to show. When the SDK is released, you will see how easy it is. At the least, you can add some better lighting just by using Photoshop and a couple of commands in Flash which will already be made to simplify the process. I believe you already know Photoshop Groni so that shouldn't be a problem.

The Jackpot animation was done in After Effects and then exported as a PNG sequence to be used in Flash. I think there will be some real potential for people who can do 3D animation as well.

It's there to use when it's released and I am interested to see how other table authors will implement it.

Noice. That opens up a ton of possibilities for original tables.

ok, when we all have learned how to use this, and it will get standard in VP,
then there will be very nice effects possible.

My current VPX Tables I am working on:

Attack from Mars/Finished - The Walking Dead Pro/90% - The Lord of the Rings/75% - Family Guy/90% - The Simpsons Pinball Party/15%

I'm not a table builder or anything of the sort, but OMG! Impressive! The sky's the limit for VP and VPM now. I would love to see a Black Hole with the spinning effect in the backglass. Now, it's possible, adding to the experience of playing.

heh, well, if you had a dual display with spanning capability, that has been available for quite a few months now.

Does this work on existing VPM games or ojust originals just to give the VPM games a littl added flare.

Both. Although I am unsure if it can be used with VP8 or not. I am sure BBB can chime in with an answer. I think it could since it is pretty simple. You add a line or two of code in VP that calls up the server. The server acts as a com object that lets Flash and VP talk to eachother. Flash can then read commands from VP. Flash runs on top of VP so any effect you do will always be above everything else. That is really the only limitation. Obviously there are some interesting things you can do for original tables that you would not see on recreations like that Jackpot animation he shows...but you can also add some cool effects to recreations like better flasher lighting effects, more realistic toys, etc. We have even talked about some other implementations like, for example, you hit a key and the instruction cards on an apron scale up to fill the screen so you can read them. Or you hit another key and you can have an interactive instruction display with animated lines showing shooting angles from the flippers, small animated signs showing objectives in a game, etc. We are even talking about adding flippers in FlashVP that would replace the odd perspective ones that a lot of people complain about. These are just a handful of ideas...there are plenty more. And I am sure table authors will figure out other interesting ways to implement FlashVP into their tables.

Hows progress going with this?
I am keen to get stuck into dusting off my flash skills, and even making an instructional video if needed.

BBB is going to release his FlashVP Monopoly table today (I think). Then we will see how it runs on everyone's cabs. As it stands, it is working out pretty well but I think he needs to optimize some of the code.

This is my first contribution for the VP World. Not Much so far
but you know me...Expect more coming your way.

***THIS IS A TEST** For an Upcoming project in VP (cabinet view)
taking over BBB concept. Please be patient all, I'm learning all along.

www.gopinball.com/test/testOverlay.zip

Flash Apps are reliable if content does not move...or follow some rules!!!
since this test is actually just a picture. It will not cause
a Memory problem while VP play underneath. Doesnt need to match any actual table.
All I want to know if this baby pump some juice if you have a table running
fullscreen under it.. we start from there after I'll test with VIDEO ANIMATION

SO..in order to simulate better rendered plastic and overlays , My plan is to do the following :
build a test table with
-Nice resolution image for the playfield
-put only invisible constraint on the test table for now.
-put matching plastics as overlays in a flash Apps.

Question to my fellow VP Experts..Is it possible to output the position
of the ball at runtime? If so...I have an Evil Master Plan...wink.gif

If not I will just take another Route.

Launch App (it is based on my resolution 720x1280)-see if image look nice - Escape to quit
please send me feedback at [email protected]

Hello Steve! I obtain a nice image wich is rotating well... Concerning the ball, I don't know with VP9 but with the older version, you can determine .X .Y and .Z positions (and velocity too) without any problem.
I was pretty sure than developping pinball with flash interess you. Good luck for you new challenge.

No problem with VP9 too (concerning position and velocity)...
