Must say, great job with all that woodworking !

Merci Nemo ... A vrai dire c mon premier projet avec tu bois et je dois avouer que je commence a prendre gout a tous ca ;)  <--- un peu de francais pour la bonne cause LOL

I only hope that I will find all supports and help when it will be time for electronic parts. I don't know anything about it and I hope that some of you will give me some tips and suggestion in regards ipac, ledwiz, etc etc.... Thanks in advance to all of you ;)

Thanks ... I took a look at your recent build it's really well done too.... BTW do you have any special trick or tools to make perfect button hole? Curious to know what is the best to make clean and perfect fit hole. especially for Flipper button that will be much more solicited.

Gigalula...your build looks fantastic...love to follow your WIP! :D

Cheers buddy!

Thanks...  I'm not happy with the backbox doors Not sure if I will keep it like that or fix it to open from top to bottom because I feel like it's really heavy when fully open... Will see when the 200mm fans will be fixed ...Still waiting for them and  so many parts needed to advance... Like I said to my wife 1 day at the time.  How is your progress BTW?

looks like your moving right along!

:) Yep !  it's going well... Thanks to all previous members whiteout naming each of them for their pinball project posted here. it's without any doubt a good help for me.    I'm scare of the next part installing PC on sliding shelf and make sure that all electronic part work well and the nightmare will be later when it will be time to buy and install LedWiz stuff... I'm not the best concerning electricity and connections so I advance slowly but surely.  :)

I will need to find someone who can design concept for the looking table I need something about "Alien" the movies.... so far this is the only good idea I can find for my table but I'm open to any good suggestion concerning the "Table Name" and "Theme" ;)

Today I modified a computer case to be installed on sliding shelf.

img_2343.jpg

img_2339.jpg

img_2340.jpg

img_2342.jpg

Also cut some hole for 200mm fans but apparently I was wrong even if the company spec was 220m the product is only 190mm so I hope to be able to fix it without issue. Now I will always wait my stuff before doing any modification ... A good lesson ....

How do you like my prototype DMD and speakers panel on the left ? ... :)  lol  My son was curious to know so I made an artisanal quick design ;)

Okidoo Have fun during your vacations ... I will probably slow down a bit.... with the PC part I will take some days playing with that ;)

img_2348.jpg

First look at the SYSTEM running. ;)  .... My only error was to think that Motherboard accepted mSATA drive but in fact this board use M2 and I will have to buy another raid to move windows on SSD 120gb and keep the SSD 500 for pinball stuff only... Bahhh i'm satisfied so far by the loading time and tomorrow I will start the installation of VP and test some stuff.

Nice choice on your hardware, that's going to rock ! I initially had my volume control placed in the backbox roughly in the

same spot you placed it, i DID changed it to sit in the front of the cab as it was a b*tch to adjust volumes each time i'd

load a new table.....

Friday I got the ultimate widebody kit from virtuapin.net so I had chance to advance.

Was a little curious how I could be able to perfectly drill the hole for leg so I made some test and finally opted to create a template with 1/8" drill bit for the hole starter it was the best way for me to make my hole with less chance to damage or fail.

First thing to do was determine the right position and mark it

img_0154.jpg

img_0155.jpg

With a knife simple v-cut the middle to help bit to find the right spot....

img_0156.jpg

After 2 attempt I finally created a perfect template. I was able to drill all of them near to perfection.

img_0157.jpg

img_0158.jpg

img_0159.jpg

So after the initial holes simply remove the template and use many other bits with progressive diameter to enlarge holes until you get desired size.

Now it's time for the door... I simply used jigsaw via hole drilled in each corner of the inside surface to cut

img_0160.jpg

The coin door frame fitted like a glove ;)

img_2366.jpg

The front button have been drilled in 2 step by using a 1/16" standard bit to drive the hole and a 15/16" Fostner bit.

img_2368.jpg

img_2369.jpg

After some test with playfield screen I realized that I couldn't get flipper button at the exact place I was suppose to so I finally opted with a solution that of dropping magna button to follow angle of arm and I let my son and wife simulating play to figure out the perfect spot that was comfortable for everyone.

The hole have been made in 3 step again by (1) using a 1/16" standard bit to drive the hole (2)  1" 3/8 Fostner bit "around 1/4 ~ 5 /16 deep"  (3)  5/8" Fostner bit fully performed.

img_2371.jpg

img_2372.jpg

Then it was time to install the legs to see the overall shape. That's it and that's all for the weekend. :)

img_2376.jpg

I took the decision to put the cancel or "esc" button under "Launch Ball" but far enought to prevent problem I also drilled the button hole deeper for this last to make sure to never accidently push it while playing.

Nice cabinet!

i never want to hit ESC accidentally, so it is located on the bottom of the cab.  not the most visitor-friendly solution.....

That is why you should "sink" the buttons deeper. I have my buttons deep so when i stand against the cabinet i cannot press them accidently.

Progressing slowly but surely ;)

I spend few hours on the DMD panel and finally opted for plywood over cnc  :)

img_2378.jpg

img_2379.jpg

img_2380.jpg

img_2385.jpg

I had to create a setup for my router to be able to make a perfect cut to leave place for the future backbox Plexiglas

img_2386.jpg

img_2391.jpg

img_2392.jpg

Fixing the third screen to the panel was a piece of cake and I'm really happy of this small screen offering a resolution of 1280 x 720.

img_2389.jpg

The rest of the wires and controller have been fixed temporary with some small tie rap just to test the screen.... You don't want to see it it's fully ugly LOL hehehe .

993.jpg

994.jpg

996.jpg

995.jpg

The speaker's protector have been temporary fixed to give me a good idea of the final look.

img_2382.jpg

PC setup was fit tight but it still work ;)

997.jpg

The main power switch beside the pc power push button in front under the cabinet

998.jpg

Now I can have a good idea of the final look after the installation of the rails, Hinges, Backbox latch,  and the lockdown bar ...Of course I fixed ipac2 temporary to have a little feeling and because of that we played more then doing anything else during the weekend ;)

img_2411.jpg

img_2415.jpg

I never had the chance to see this pinball in real life so it was a great pleasure to play Doctor Who ("Thanks to oooPLAYER1ooo,unclewilly,Dozer316 and any others that I may have miss that worked on this masterpiece table.")

Now I'm taking a little break until I get rest of my stuff that include 10 Siemens contactor, LEDwiz, SMT booster board + resitor board, RGB Light bar

Looking really good gigalula! :D

Thanks my friend! ... The cab is already all in parts for a body cure ;) hehe.... well before going any further I think it was time to patch some hole and give a bit of white and black color .... Still need to find out someone that would like to create a unique "Alien" art for this cab, it's the only part where I can't figure out how to do it myself with my poor talent of designer I wont take any chance to create it because it will be a disaster.... I also don't know where to get it printed to perfectly fit on my Widebody version of cab.  So If you know anyone who can help me you are welcome. :)

Last few days I have been learning how to use gun spray.... I do admit it was a first for me and now I can say I will never return to roller ... Never .... It's so funny and easy to use  ;)

Started with few layer of white egg on all the surface.

img_2475.jpg

img_2478-2.jpg

After few minutes playing around with paper and tape to keep white color on the bottom and delimited section inside of the box then it was time for black color.

img_2482.jpg

img_2485.jpg

img_2487.jpg

img_2489.jpg

And the final result after 6 layer of spayed black paint I removed all paper and tape and spayed 4 layer of varathane crystal clear and the finish look is amazing. "At least for a first try ;) "

img_2501.jpg

img_2503.jpg

img_2504.jpg

img_2505.jpg

img_2509.jpg

I'm still waiting to install the decals so I cannot really do anything else on the cab but I installed fan and grill on the back door of sliding shelf. Looking good so far.

img_2524-2.jpg

img_2511.jpg

img_2513.jpg

img_2514.jpg

That's all for now... ;)

Dammit just realized that some parts still need to be paint like sliding shelf and inside of doors .... No choice I will have to use roller finally.... or keep it like that  if it's 's not too visible at the end  ...I will see when all is in place if that affect my mind or affect my boss.  "My WIFE"  ;)
