I Think Tom Speirs has made some adjustments to pinballx

He left out the NVRAM path in the settings.

Maybe we can bypas it and copy it in the pinballx.ini in directory Config

Look for section [VisualPinball]

and put this in as the last line from that section

NVRAMPath=D:\Visual Pinball\nvram

Or if there is already a line with NVRAMPath  just fill in the correct directory behind it (no \ at the end)

This should make it work....if so I will ask Tom Speirs to investigate why it's not in the settings anymore

I added the line (but with D:\Visual Pinball\Vpinmame\nvram path to match my settings), but unfortunately it didn't change anything

Hmmm this one is tricky

Let's see if pinemhi works and that you have the right nvram path.

Check the nvram path for a baywatch.nv and see if it is the correct date

Then run pinemhi on the commandline

go to the pinballx directory using d:

and then cd pinballx or the path you installed it in

then type pinemhi baywatch.nv

You should get the hiscores from baywatch

This insures us that pinemhi works and that it is something else that's causing it

If this all works

If I send the pinsmhi command I get the error message : "No such file : baywatch.nv"

It might be normal as it doesn't have the nvram path

If I copy the nv file to the pinballx directory, it gives :

D:\PinballX>pinemhi baywatch.nv
HIGH SCORES
#1 JEK   2'400'000'000
#2 LON   2'100'000'000
#3 NF    1'950'000'000
#4 DAY   1'800'000'000
#5 KIS   1'650'000'000
#6 MJK   1'500'000'000

it should work.

Make sure you have the path filled in pinemhi.ini

nvram=D:\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\nvram\

Then pinemhi knows where to look for the baywatch.nv

Delete the baywatch.nv in the pinballx directory and make sure the path is ok in pinemhi.ini

Now if you try again it should work

do you have multiple installations of vpinmame on your system by any chance ?

It's already ok in pinemhi.ini :

[paths]
nvram=D:\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\nvram\
fpram=D:\Future Pinball\fpRAM\
vp=d:\Visual Pinball\VPinMame\nvram\
fp=D:\Future Pinball\fpRAM\

I don't understand why, but now it's working when launching from pinballx folder (adter deleting nv file I copied).

I had a try with MB as I'm having troubles with Baywatch DMD (which apppears behind a picture of turned off DMD, no idea why), and now its writing in the statistics :
 [VisualPinball_Monster_BashWilliams_1998_uw_randr_28_FS]
description=Monster Bash (Williams 1998)
lastplayed=19/10/2014 16:09:47
timesplayed=1
rom=mb_10
secondsplayed=113
highscore_1=XIO|1006204640
highscore_2=XIO|268718490
highscore_3=XXX|237841900

I'll make some more tries. Maybe the problem is Baywatch then ???

Yes , you should try MB again and see if it submits a score.

You do have to have the NVRAMpath in the pinballx.ini under section [VisualPinball] as stated a couple of posts above

The first time you play a game a score cannot be submitted , so if you play MB again it should send your score to pinemhi (fingers crossed) :)

and if it didn't work you can always read the pinemhi leaderboard log to hopefully see what went wrong.

Yes it did sent.

2014-10-19 17:09:02 xio Monster Bash(Williams) (1998) (uw randr) (2.8) (FS) 2599090

only problem was that the table was newer than the one used by pinemhi so it didn't recognize the table

It still is on the MB 2.1 version I'm afraid

but the score reached the server :dblthumb:

Ok that's a good start !

I don't understand why it isn't working for baywatch (and this table does correspond to the pinemhi one). I deleted the statistics.ini but when I play it's ROM=blank again and no score. What could it be ?

You never have to delete statistics.ini

It just keep records of what you played that's it

I use it to extract info for pinemhi leaderboard though

Only the second time you play a game a score can be submitted, so if you delete the statistics.ini you have to play a game twice to submit a score

For instance MB doesn't submit a score the next time you play because it's the first entry in statistics.ini again for this game.

Not sure about baywatch though

When you play a game and write down the first player score, then exit and then start the table again, is the score the same when you watch the dmd without playing  ?

Maybe deleting the nvram will do the trick ?

Nice score on MM btw :love39:

I played twice Baywatch and deleted nv file, but still no rom/score in statistics

The first player score is the one I had with pinemhi command line :

D:\PinballX>pinemhi baywatch.nv
HIGH SCORES
#1 JEK   2'400'000'000

An it's the same if I start the DMD without playing (assuming u meant with vpiname/test)

No , I mean the score you make.... not from the hiscore table.

Just fire up the 3 balls , see how much the 1st player score is.

Then exit the game , and then start the game and look for the 1st player score on the dmd (not the hiscores).

If it's the same then the game saves the nvram , if it's not the same the game doesn't save the nvram and there maybe something wrong regarding exiting the game.

Not a pinemhi issue but just a check to see if the game exit works properly.

In a previous version of pinballx the game exits without saving the nvram , just wanted to know if this is the case here (that bug got fixed but who knows)

Yes, I see the score I last made on the DMD when launching it (via vpinmame but it's the same). The nvram is updated, I forgot to answer this but the date is ok.

Greetings, DNA-Disciples (Disturbed or not)!

I decided to enlarge the PINemHi roster of Future Pinball players by 25% (from 4 to 5), so downloaded PinballX v1.92 and the PeH_L/B Plugin. Typed in the nvRAM and fpRAM paths and the same code I've used for pre-plugin PeH, played Medieval Madness Ultra by Francisco666 and Slamt1lt (the Game Manager worked, so I must have done something correctly) and when I checked PINemHi Leaderboard, no score had been submitted. (imagine that!)

Reading through the main PINemHi and Plugin threads, I finally noticed the instruction about using the checkbox in PinballX's Plugin Manager to enable PINemHi Leaderboard. Trouble is, though, that PINemHi Leaderboard is not listed there, and consequently has no checkbox. I tried typing on an open line, but it wouldn't 'take', so has anyone come across this?

Also, KBJAXMAN noted in post #9;

...I see that with the plugin version, the scores are sent automatically without asking first

Does this mean that a score is submitted each time you end the session?.....or at the end of every game played!? That would fill a database in no time at all.....

Cheers, all! :drinks:

EDIT: It's not listed in PinballX\config either, but since that's a Notepad goodie, maybe I can type it in.....

2nd EDIT: No joy; the four listed plugins were .dlls, so I added 'PINemHi LeaderBoard.dll' but nothing changed.....

The score is submitted whenever you exit back to your tables menu.  So if you play 10 games and exit, then your last score played is sent to the database.

(Whew!) Thanks, KB. Nice to know that the first nine slugs don't have to be the ones for which we're remembered.

Hi Gregg,

Nice to see you're trying out the plugin :)

Did you get it going ?

seeing you had some trouble finding the checkbox....

(you probably put the plugin in the wrong directory)

kbjaxman already answered your other question so hopefully we'll be seeing some nice scores

Did you get it going ?

Apparently not. I compared the contents of the Plugin zip and the PinballX directory, and the PINemHi LeaderBoard.dll had somehow failed to join the rest in the extraction. I copy/pasted it into the PinballX Plugins folder, opened the Plugin Manager and PINemHi was in the first line, complete with checkbox, (GLOR-EE-US!) which I promptly checked. After playing eight or ten games of Medieval Madness Ultra Ed. v1.19, I checked with the website and not only was my score not submitted, but my name didn't get added to the roster, either.

I copied the log, but don't know whether it's telling me anything:
