Your laptop is more than capable of running FP at it's highest settings, so the problem must be with your graphics card configuration. If I were you I'd run a full diagnostic of my system's performance capability. Running a benchmark program like 3D mark should let you know if there's a problem.

Guys we did it !!!!! someone mentioned a video card driver update and i got the latest update from the AMD website and guess what !!!!!! it worked. I would like to say thank you to all you people who helped and gave me advice, you all rock !!!!!!!! Happy gaming thanks jonbaker...

Ok ! now i would like to know from all you legends out there ......How do i get my pinball table to be flat to cover the whole screen , so it looks like you are actually standing behind the real macoy if you use a flat screen tv ? I have seen a few home built projects and the pinball table covers the whole screen........??? any help out there


Another small question....is there a way to have a "front end" in fp ? i would like to start the program and then scroll through my tables and just hit enter and then i can play the chosen table ??? is this possable ? i have seen youtube videos of guys doing that on their home build systems

these are my settings
but it seems everyone uses vastly different settings
depending on their graphics cards or lack thereof
I have only 1g ram and use an Nvidia card in this tower
I run VP mostly but FP still runs okay on my computer
can't seem to figure out why you're screen looks the way it does
Maybe someone who really uses FP on a daily basis would be better off helping you

but I'd turn off that background stuff and high quality textures
y'know start at the bottom then start to turn things on and see what screws it up so badly
then turn that off and you should be good to go (it says here in fine print)

okay those full screen pins are just that they are made for the cab guys here and are called
FS pins meaning full screen they are made to be played on a rotated monitor usually in a cabinet
the 4:3' pins are made to be played on a regular desktop monitor
the 'front end' that I know of is through 'hyperpin'
and I think can be set up for either vp or fp
I KNOW it can be used for the VP pins I am unsure if FP can beset up through it though

Who knew it would have been a simple solution like a video driver update!
Glad ya' get to play all these neat pins now..

Friends !!! is there a program or other way that i can convert my pinball tables to the Flat format ??? or in other words the flat version like the cabinets use, or how do you get your pinball tables to be flat , covering the whole desktop screen ??? Any help out there !!!

Hi! Interesting user name; looks like you are somebody's best cousin. I happen to be 'best uncle' to four youngsters between 15 and 39 years of age (but it's not difficult because I am their only uncle.....)

I didn't read whether you are using multiple displays or just a single one, but I experimented a bit with my non-rotating desktop just for curiosity's sake. Open the FP Editor, click Preferences and then Video / Rendering Options; Future Pinball tables will render as rectangles if you select 'Arcade Mode'. I believe you said you're running a widescreen monitor, so you'll want to select that instead of '4:3', and in 'Rotation' select '270* (Sideways)'. Then rotate your monitor 90* right (and lay it down if you can) and choose a table to play. Only a small part of the table will be visible; press the Scroll Lock key and then use the arrowed numbpad keys (2, 4, 6, 8) to move the table into the center of your screen. If it doesn't fill the screen, use either the Page Up or Page Down key to switch from Translate (move table) to Scale (again, use 2-4-6-8) to adjust length and width to your preference. When you're finished, press Scroll Lock again to clear the adjustment instructions (you can play whether they are there or not) and to avoid having to do all of this again next time, SAVE THE TABLE before exiting.

Now, this is where I 'run out of gas'. Using the table, Medieval Madness ULTRA 1.11, I could not get the score / DMD to display anything. Maybe that has to be on a second monitor; I don't know. I do know that that has been discussed here more than once, but I don't recall in which threads. This is where someone will say, "Search is your friend!".

Anyway, I hope I've helped a bit and maybe inspired someone more knowledgeable to post and correct me.

GSGregg !! thank you so very much Yes that user name is actually also my sideline business name BB's Best and i make and sell candy coated popcorn here in South Africa.....hahahahaha !! glad you enjoyed this. I am going to try what you have said here, and thank you so much for the tips....my aim is to maybe build myself a home made mini pinball table using a 25" flat screen....you know just something small for myself here at home. However it would be great to meet someone who actually builds these cabinets,as they would have valuable information on how to use multiple small screens to build yourself a nice home made pinball cabinet. I am from South Africa and have seen some beautifull virtual pinball cabinets for sale there in the U.S.A and constantly whish i could also have one, but im afraid that the price these guys are asking is equal to me saving up for about 5 years........so whats the point hey !!! We live in a 3rd world country where not as much is available on the local markets as there in the rest of the world. But i will let you know if i win the lottery, because the first thing i would buy will be a Future Pinball Cabinet !! yahooo !!!!!

I also happen to have a lot of plans for one of these mini Mame arcade machines , and would love to build one for myself but we cant get hold of an IPAC controller here in S.A people just dont know what you are talking about and it is sad.

Hi guys !!! i would like to build myself a small future pinball cabinet.....i want to use a 26" screen for the playfield and a smaller screen for the back box display. Is there a special circuit board i must use for the second display ? Can any one give me some pointers here please !!!! I would realy appreciate the help !

Ok peolpe  i have done it !!! all i need to know form one of you is how to get the dmd display to work????? i have one screen for playfield and one for the backbox......now how do i get the dmd screen to be just that ?????

I'm not sure what is meant by getting the DMD to be "just that"; is it stuck in an undesirable place? Visible but not displaying data? Do you want it in one screen or the other? Hi Gregg !!! no sorry , maybe you dont understand.....what i mean to say is: I have managed to get the playfield on to one monitor in arcade mode.......The back glass on a seperate monitor.....but how do i connect up a 3rd display for the dmd ? in the settings you can actually choose which display you want for the main playfield and for the back glass....but there is no option for the dmd ??? and if i would like to move the dmd to the back glass .....how do i do that ?

I did a web-search for "third monitor for DMD" and read some stuff from Hyperspin and a few others (links are disallowed here, I think); "FP doesn't support three screens", but some people may have ways around that. Are you still running the Dell with HD5650? I assume that gives you a total of three outputs, but I'd better not even guess how to make everything go. Good luck with the Search; "The truth is out there".
