Indeed! I'm all about that. I think we're taking issue (at least I am) with the guy commissioning it, and then selling it to other people...because that's not his art to sell. When I pay you to do art, I'm paying you for your time. When someone pays him for art he's already commissioned, they're paying for the art, which includes IP that is not his to sell in the first place.

Yeah, the only time I'd charge for the same art is to change it up (replace logo, characters etc..) and resize to a persons cab.  So basically a person is paying for time only, not the product.  If you are pumping out multiple copies of the same art without any change then I can see how this might be an issue.

He "sells" it so that's why he'd be pissed off. Very funny. It's good art and obviously prints well so it's highly desirable, but it's funny the way it's been handled. It would be like charging for our VP tables, it's all using IP that just isn't ours to sell...and then we get upset when someone gives the table away for free (like it should be in the first place) but thankfully we mostly have the good sense not to do that....

ummmm anyways that's all I'll say on it - besides that It should have been a 1 off for personal use.

So you say I sell my BBP art, where did you get this infomation?

cheers

Chris

Yeah I used it in one build think it was only 200 extra for the art work so not bad. On my Mopar madness cab(personal machine) I bet I have 500-750 in that design paying the artist. So 200 bucks is fair I think

umm right here thanks!!!!!!!

You have a GREAT day

I never sold a copy of my BBP artwork. I wanted an unique, private artwork for my cab and hired an artist (shadman) to create my ideas of my big bang bar "pin" version. It costs me 500 bucks and I think it was a good investment. So everyone who wants an unique artwork - simply hire an artist and feed him with your own ideas.

There are some modified copies around of the big bang bar artwork - these are not mine and if you look closer, you see the differences.

Who's selling that artwork then? Why are you not more upset that someone is profiting off your design?
And sorry I was given the impression from randrs comment that he bought it from you. I was also told someone bought their artwork directly from you.

Who made the knockoff?

Just to be clear here. I used that artwork (very close to Chris design) for a build for a friend. I would not want someone else cab I built for them. I paid artist for my own artwork(Mopar madness) I like my own to be my own

Here is my version of Chris design I used for a build. It's close but not his. I honestly see nothing wrong with using people's ideas. If that was a issue then we all are in trouble!

lmao

ok - I see all clearly now

Chris, sorry for the accusations, until this morning I had no idea there were 2 different pieces of artwork. I was under the impression from multiple people that it was all yours (and never paid enough attention to see the differences - and they are very different!) None of that was meant to take away from how awesome your artwork was, I was just irritated that the idea was being "sold". I guess that feeling doesn't change now that I know it's someone else doing the selling because the idea is the same, but I don't want anyone to think it was you doing the selling. Here are the 2 different designs:

This is Chris' original custom artwork based on Big Bang Bar artwork, created by shadman (don't go to his site unless you're interested in some cartoon porn by the way....!) and is fantastic (image credit to Chris)

Here is the second design, not sure who created it, that is apparently for sale (or was previously) (image credit to randr)

It's clearly based off of shadmans art design for Chris, but it's different.

Again Chris, sorry about that, my mistake. Thanks for setting the record straight

I wasn't aware that the colour was actually fluorescent?  Just a normal colour printed like any other.  I'm pretty sure if you print with the colour code I gave you it will look the same.  Maybe get a printer to print a sample with that colour and see what it looks like.

He wants to do like chriz99 did with his original big bang pin print, and it was printed so that it was fluorescent, it glowed in black light

Is there any way to buy Chris's very cool design/print?  I bought a machine way back in the day from Monsters Arcade which had this great design on it.  The issue is that it is only for a 40-inch screen, and, of course, I want a 42-inch LG.  And I want to make my own from scratch with a flatpack.
