I have made a B2S mod of Melons TAF VP91X FS 2.0.1

Melon seems to have disappeared from these forums and I can't get he's permission to upload the B2S table.
So I thought I would write a DIY instruction how you can edit the table and script to work with my backglass.

This file should include everything you need,

Just place the "playfield" subfolder in your tables folder and its good to go?
Addams Family...what a fun table.. smile.gif

Peace,
Lynny

The pf images are not required to run the table but if you want to get more intense lights you can replace the old images with these in the Image Manager (under the Table meny in the VP editor)

After updating the images with "Image Manager", do you need to keep the "Playfield Images" folder or are they saved in the .vpt file?

I have tried to make this table but when I do the backglass works fine but no ball will come into play. ie. hitting start does not add a ball to the table? Any ideas what I might have done wrong?

Hi Rog,

In your instructions, it states:

- In the VP editor go to the Backdrop and change the following settings:
"Contact Friction" = 0,003
"Dampening Speed" = 48

I'm guessing this is a typo and that it should be a period, not a comma for the contact friction? A comma just rounds it off to a 1. Just an FYI.

Almost forgot, this is a great B2S mod, really appreciate you releasing it this way, just took 5 minutes to do. Thanks!

I am using commas on all the parameters. I guess it can differ due to Local Windows settings.

Love this table, looks great with the mod. Just wish I could fix the Thing Mode as it gets stuck.

Thanks Rosve

This really is a fantastic B2S, thanks ever so much Roger!! good.gif

It took me a while to get it to work as I found I had to EXACTLY use the 'TheAddamsFamily_FS_B2S' naming format. If I chose anything else, even if filenames and script all matched, I received a line 0 null error.

I modified the script slightly to use the collector's edition rom. For anyone else that would like to do this here's what I changed:

change >>> Const cGameName = "taf_l7" to >>> Const cGameName = "tafg_lx3" (note: you'll need to make sure you have this rom)

add the following lines under sub TAF_KeyDown(keycode):

If keycode = 3 Then Controller.Switch(11) = True

add the following lines under sub TAF_KeyUp(ByVal keycode):

If keycode = 3 Then Controller.Switch(11) = False

this will set up the number 2 key for buy in, you can change this to any key you want

Cheers again Rosve!! drinks.gif

Just Implemented the DIY kit, worked perfict and easy to do! Thx rosve!

This table looks and plays fantastic.
I got the pf images updated, removed the speaker grill and even moved the THING lights to the bottom of the backglass.

How do you remove the grill? I would LOVE to know that trick please biggrin.gif

It is done in your Screenres file settings.
It will be different for everybody because of different screen resolutions.
But here is my other thread where a couple of people helped me out with mine.
Hope it helps.

I am pretty sure I followed all the instructions but I am getting a line 0 error....

Did I put "SendLights" in the right spot?

thewool reported "line 0" error because of naming problems but I don't think that is my issue...

SendLights is put in the right place.

Search for the LaunchBackGlass instruction. The backglass name must match the name of the backglass exe, The exe must be in the same folder as the vpt file.

LaunchBackGlass "TheAddamsFamily_FS_B2S", true 'True=Launch bg , False=Don't launch bg.

That was it. Somehow in the cut and paste process those lines got all screwy. They are fixed now and it's working great. Thanks for the help and the awesome B2S.

I'm getting an error from the .NET Framework when I run this, is it just me? If I hit continue it seems to work fine from what I can see, but I'd like to figure out if I did something wrong.

Microsoft .NET Framework

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore the error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Length of argument "String" must be greater than zero.

I get this same error message on my backglass screen every once in awhile on this table.
However it only happens about every 6th or 7th time I start the table.
Most time it starts up just fine.

Something went wrong when you pasted the script,
That should be two lines,

setlamp 100,0
for each obj in bombillasIz:obj.state=0:next

Try moving this line:
ResetB2SData 0,49,0 'Initialise the b2s data area

up to the top of the script right after "ExecuteGlobal GetTextFile("b2s.vbs")"
