Rosve, Thanks for another great B2s Mod. Is there anyway to show only the Backglass without speakers with the screen res or something, as I am using a real DMD and have real speakers so it looks weird.

I was just playing this and thinking the exact same thing.
Would be nice. But I have no idea how much trouble it would be to have a version without the speaker panel.

I just went through all my backglasses and replaced them with ones without the speaker panel for my real DMD.
Now Rosve is slowly going to have me putting them all back. lol.

Mine shows only the backglass (no speakers etc) using this new b2s since I use a third monitor. My screenres file looks like:

1920
1080
1280
1024
3
0
0
777
185
1400
50
0

The only small problem I see is that when the launch/start lights blink next to the plunger the text partially vanishes.

This is such a nice clean backboard, I used to have UVP turned off due to the stutter, this fixes it completely for one of my favorite tables! Thanks so much!

Thank you so much, works great now. LOVE B2S!!!!!!!!!!

that screenres.txt setting worked for me too. Looks great on this game, but is it going to mess anything up with other games?

Edit: Just did a test run in hyperpin, and games like Dinner B2S, are all messed up now with those settings. The displays are all polly wampus.

Also, AFM is doing the same thing CV and Flash did, where I can't exit out back to the wheel. It locks up until I hit the "EsC" key on the keyboard. Is there a way I can get these B2S games to enter and exit more efficently in hyperpin (hyperpin is the program that uses the wheel right?)

I hope you did'nt just copy/paste those settings? Those are individual and you should change them according to your own screen resolution, backglass monitor, dmd position and so on.

For hyperpin questions you should visit the hyperpin forum. But you should'nt use the esc key with hyperpin, change it to e or something instead and use FPLaunch WIP9. That should set you straight. wink.gif

If my assumption is wrong, then disregard my rant.

You need to enter the correct values for your specific setup in Screenres.
Use this little application to edit your Screenres file.
B2S ScreenRes Editor

If the back glass isn't closed by HyperPin then make sure that the LaunchBackglass call is set to False in the table script, And that both vpt and exe have the same name (ending with B2S).

How would editing the screenres file make the speaker grill go away?
The image is the image, so I don't see how it would crop out the speaker grill at all.
Plus it would mess up all the other B2S tables as well.

Now, I may very well be wrong, but since the backglass is compiled in an exe, it may very well be setup to look for the offset for a dmd, and if found, display the 3 screen version instead of the 2 screen version with the speaker grill, instead of having two separate versions. In which case it shouldn't effect any older B2S backglasses and be fully backwards compatible

I was a bit confused also why the speaker grill went away after changing my ScreenRes.txt file. I have been making some FS B@S EM tables from old ones and use Rosve template for VS2k10, so I will look through the code and see how this works.

Thats correct, Kodiac.
If setup correctly, nothing will be corrupted.

@Arcade4, an image can be more than an image sometimes smile.gif.

Rosve, I'm using 2 real LCD (1920,1080 as playfield, 1280,1024 as backglass, and a USB DMD as the DMD. what do you think my screenresfile should look like.

I thought that I should use something like this (Made up the 640 and 480 for the DMD as I dont use this, but that didnt work, and setting that were posted above did work, were the last few numbers the ones that make the speaker grill disappear?

1080
1920
1280
1024
2
0
0
640
480
0
0
0

OK.
Then I guess my question is, how do I force the 3 screen backglass to show up when I only have two screens?

Try this,

1080
1920
1280
1024
2
0
0
640
480
1280
0
0

If the LED Display X offset is <> 0 the speaker panel will disapear, or rater, it will be detached from the backglass. I put in 1280 to move the panel outside of the visible area.

well, I saved the original screenres file as a different name, in case it screwed something up, so I still have my original.

with setting that backglass setting to false, my animated backglass fails to load. That's what happened on flash anyway. The game does exit out correctly in hyperpin, but lose the animated backglass effect. Just the still picture version shows up.

:/

What are the names of vpt file and the exe file?

If the names are identical and ends with B2S but still fails to load then your FPLaunch scrip may not be up to date.

Just search out any post on these boards by "Blur".
He has a link to the latest FP Launch in his signature lines.
EDIT.... Or just use koadic's helpful link above. lol.

It is not another file to load into your tables folder. It is a complete update to how Hyperpin runs.
It adds a lot of cool features over the original download version.
Well worth getting and installing.

i think installing that, might have been a mistake. Now I can't do anything in hyperpin. Everytime I wheel to a game. I get a popbox as soon as I push start, that says must be in same folder as hyperpin.exe. I installed all the files in c:/hyperpin

and moved all the .png files to hyperpin/media/hyperpin/images. Also changed the settings.ini on exit to E. That's pretty much all I understand out of that installation guide. Everything else, I had no clue what he was talking about.

btw, my cab uses XP.

Sounds like you did it correctly.
However I am not at home right now to check things out.
Hopefully Blur or someone else will read this and help you out.
It really is worth all the new features once you get it running correctly.
