I will definatly be getting this ting on my Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS, since Sterns aboard i hope they release a couple S.A.M. games like maybe Pirates of the caribean, Family Guy, Spiderman, and a couple of the other older tables. I also hope they do Lord of the rings, i seriously can't wait for this and early 2012 is right around the corner. Also making 2 tables a month is a real plus. yahoo.gif

Some tidbits from their facebook wall:

"To get the authentic look and feel we strive for, we've bought a real table for each table we've re-created digitally since the original Gottlieb collection."

"Two monitor cabinet support is in the plans. I doubt that we'll launch with this feature, but we're already looking into it."

Pretty exciting. The potential for tables from all pinball makers is big. Great to see this on iPad and Mac. There are still plenty of Mac users who haven't discovered the joy that is VP. The iPad will make for some terrific handheld play. I also hope they follow through on the cabinet potential. At the least, they should make it compatible with some of the iPad solutions. Perhaps an iCade 2 with flipper buttons?

Notably absent from the list of platforms is the Wii.
Whoops! Too much english.

Makes sense since the Wii-U will be out next year.

great news!!
farsight studios is doing an amazing job recreating pinball. the williams phof for ps3 is very very good! cant wait for this one.

now, if this comes to pc. wont you need a very powerfull for this? because on ps3, that is a powerfull gaming machine, when you are on 4 ball multiball you get a slowdown. so i reckon you need a nasa pc for this? biggrin.gif

This sounds like great news, but what do we know about their handling of the physics/gameplay side? Is it comparable to VP? I haven't had the chance to play their previous games because they were not released on PC. Hassanchop, you sound very enthousiastic!

Some of the tables like Firepower and Gorgar are better then VP.

I've been playing your firepower to death the past 2 days, don't worry smile.gif

They're both great. PHOF does a good job on the early em's and ss's, I dont ever play the DMD games on PBHOF.

i know about their handling of the physics/gameplay side because i have their last game. williams phof
the game is very very good. the physics and gameplay are amazing!
the only "bad" thing is that all the machines feel brand new in terms of physics. and the real pins most of the guys play have some years now, witch changes the physics a lot.
if is it comparable to VP? sorry, i wont make a comment on that biggrin.gif

guess we are talking on this game only in this thread. but i wanted to answer to something noah wrote on the other one:
quote: "From what I understand, they are using sampling from the actual ROMs.

Nothing will be missing."

i can assure you nothing is missing.
the only pin on the game that i play a lot on a real pin is medieval madness. and the game is all there. all perfectly recreated.

Shut up & take my money. I will be more than happy to buy these tables & play 'em on my 360. There is no comparison to VP versions of the tables. Great playfield recreations, multiple camera angles, table wizard goals, online leaderboards & just great fun. Glad to see my wish has been answered.

I am really excited for this, but the VP versions of the tables in the Williams Collection all play somewhat different than their VP counterparts. I enjoy moving between both and noting the differences in feel and what not. Something you can do in VP that you can't do in the WC is resize the DMD. It's way too big and gets in the way of the artwork. Let's hope that it's adjustable in Pinball Arcade.

No ball spin sad.gif

Overall they are really good and fun, but also pretty easy (on what's came out so far of course, I can't speak for upcoming tables). There are a few tables I don't play much anymore because I don't have 2 hours to play. Like Space Shuttle. I swear I could make that a never ending game if I had the inclination.

The iPad's CPU is much more powerful than the PSP, and it has quite a bit of graphical power (especially the iPad 2), so it should play rather nicely.

Holy shit this is amazing! Sorry for the language, but this occasion calls for it. Just reading this now. I knew these guys were up to some new projects, but I had NO IDEA they got licensing from the big 4 (WMS, BLY, Stern, & GTB). That is amazing.
Well they did already have WMS & GTB licenses, but still, getting all those licenses sure as hell wasn't cheap, which means these guys are going all out for this game. & THE DLC THAT WILL KEEP DRIPPING OUT, THAT IS WHAT EVERYBODY HAS BEEN DYING FOR! & they are letting the people decide. If everybody is screaming that they want BK2K, then sure enough it will get added through DLC. I hope the DLC will also work for the PC version, I'm sure it will. Better yet, the DLC for the PC will likely force people to actually buy the game instead of pirate it, because pirated games generally need to stay offline.

Then look at the list of platforms! Effin' everything! I have an Android smartphone, I'll have this game on that! I have a 360, POW! I have a PS3, Shazaam! I have a high end PC, Kablooey! I'm buying at least 3 versions of this game! I have a Wii too, but I think I'll just get the PS3 version to take care of my console needs, but I'd like to see reviews to see if it looks/plays better on one or another. I think the PS3 might be a bit better if they take advantage of the better hardware.

I hope the PC version is more than a crappy port & has lots of graphics options so that all of us with good GPU's can make it look that much more amazing than on the console's.
Sucks we have to wait at least a few months.
My jaw absolutely dropped when I saw their video & saw an actual new Stern being played. NEVER thought that would happen. Stern smartened up & knew this was a good way to advertise their product to the untapped masses. Good move, they needed to do something to catch the attention of the xbox generation.
ToM! YES! Bally! Never thought I was gonna see that either.

IN SUMMATION. This is the best thing to happen to pinball since Pro Pinball, & that was a LONG time ago. & those were original tables (albeit originals that are just as good as real tables).
With all the licenses, & all the platforms supported... this is MAJOR stuff. These guys are taking a bit of a leap of faith.
WE MUST support this as much as we can. No pirating (obviously). Buy Buy Buy. Buy for every platform you have. Show these guys they are doing the right thing. Help spread the word.
Lastly, a little surprised TOTAN is in this game, it was just done in the last game, in HD. Will it be the same exact game? Or improvements?
Also surprised they are doing Black Hole again. Granted this was never done for HD consoles, but maybe because they already had the license & graphics it just made sense to redo it.
I like Black Hole, but damn they have got to get Haunted House up in there!

There were a number of improvements made to the Williams tables in the PAL release, including a large bug fix on ToTAN, physics tweaks, and graphical improvements on the toys, so hopefully we at least get that. I'm guessing Pinball Arcade with be a download only title in a Pinball FX2 environment. If that's the case, might as well re-release all their previous tables so we can get the social competition thing going in a way you couldn't do in their previous releases. I have no problem repurchasing.

Hey Robo and Jeffy, i'm really excited about this thing too. I'm going to get it for my PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, and Playstation Vita (if i get one), so yes i'm really excited about this coming out also. I didn't really get into pinball until the 90's, i guess the DMD games are what got me into pinball (sorry all you EM fans Cough Cough Freddy Monk Sabbot Cough Cough), but if the download price is right i might even get a few EM on here who knows, i'm reall starting to get more into pinball and my computer is really hating VPM right know so this really excited me. The one guy on Facebook says it will be starting in JANUARY, so that means two or two and a half months not too long to play Theatre of magic and Ripley's Believe it or not on consoles and handhelds. I fully intend to support them very well if the PC version is cabinet friendly, and maybe on IOS. But if you have to re buy the DLC for each system, then I probably won't bother with much on the IOS.

I expect that all the previously done tables for the other collections will be done as DLC for this new setup -- and I don't blame them.

Now we just need the zen pinball guys to put out their fantastic originals in a PC version that is cabinet friendly, too.
