[ND3G]

I like Zen Pinball but it drives me nuts that I cannot rotate the tables. Some of their tables are waaaaaaaay too easy too. I had to turn off my first play through of Ms.Spolsion Man after half and hour because I had stuff to do and the game was never going to end.

Is there an Android tablet you would recommend?

One of the big problems is the the new AC/DC pinball and Slayer pinball have only been released on Ipad. If I am going to buy a tablet, it will have to have those as well.

EDIT: I commented about an Android version of Slayer and AC/DC and the only thing they said was "Soon".

The Samsung Galaxy.....but you're right. You'd probably be better off just spending more and getting an iPad. There are more apps available for sure.

Went out yesterday and bought a Toshiba Thrive. I went with the Thrive for a number of reasons: First, 10.1 inch screen compared to 7 inch. Second, the Thrive has all needed ports built in, full size USB, mini USB, HDMI, and a SD card slot. No need for stupid dongles. It makes the Thrive a little thicker than the other tablets, but I can live with that. Third, removable battery. If I travel with it I can bring an extra battery along. Reviewers also stated they got 11 hours of battery life from a single charge, and full recharges in just over an hour. Haven't tried any of that yet so I can't elaborate on battery life/recharging. One reviewer on Youtube stated he had tried the Galaxy, and the Acer tablet. He didn't like either of them and returned them both. He said that there was very noticeable lag when just swiping from one desktop to the other, but noticed none with the Thrive. So far it seems pretty damn good. I was going to buy an Ipad, but I am just fed up with Apple's BS. Time to try something new. The Thrive uses Nvidia graphics, so that right there is a strong selling point for me. I downloaded a shooter called Shadowgun, which is very much like Gears of War. I was pretty blown away by the graphics, very nice and moved pretty smooth. I had some problems with the controls since there is no joystick, but I'm learning as I go and getting better.

I'm downloading Zen Pinball as I type, and will be putting it through it's paces tomorrow. Pretty sure it's going to ROCK!

Right on! Let us know how it is. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to try it on my iPad.

BTW, you made the right decision to get one with nvidia graphics since Zen on Android requires nvidia integra 2 graphics.

Got this as soon as I got up this morning for my Ipod Touch 4G.
Quite impressed so far, plays just like the XBOX one.

Lets hope we get new tables often.(Street Fighter 2 table please)

Also tried Shadowgun that moogster mentioned, very impressive for an Ipod game.

It is the best pinball on iOS for sure. Just wish it ran a little better on my iPad 1......guess I might have to upgrade to the iPad 2....

And then after you buy the Ipad 2 Apple will change their OS again, and the next tables released won't run and you'll be looking at buying Ipad 3. That's exactly why I won't buy an Ipad.

I'm not saying that the same thing can't happen with an Android, just saying it seems too common a theme for Apple. They alienate their customers with new operating systems that mysteriously will not work with their established hardware. I have an Ipod touch 2nd gen that I can still use, but most new apps won't work on it because I can't upgrade the operating system. It makes me sick when I see people standing in line for Iphone 18. Sorry if I'm ranting, like I said earlier I'm tired of Apple's BS.

How many people have had to buy a different Xbox360 or PS3 because the games won't work due to a software update? Stand by your hardware Apple.

It's not related to Apple's OS though since it's a hardware limitation of the iPad 1 compared to the iPad 2. The same is true for people on Android who don't have Nvidia Tergra powered tablets.....

I get what you're saying though. If the Android marketplace had as many games as the Apple App Store, I'd get an Android tablet instead of an iPad 2 for sure.

It's playable on the iPad 1, but just not as smooth as I'm used to with other pinball apps, and these same Zen tables on the 360.

Been saying this for years moogster, not to mention they over charge for their hardware, people will always be standing in line for their stuff though. More power to them

Balls... it's for iOS 5.0 only. Don't want to give up my 4.2 and all my emulation and comic book stuff.

Well iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone are just like computers. Once a new devise release then ether you get one or stick to the old one. I don't see why not just wait until newer games won't work or lagging on the graphics speed. Like I said computers or what ever soon be outdated because of the newer games won't run the way those should be.

I guess the thing I would say about Apple is they put out more updated hardware than anybody. I mean they come out with a new Iphone almost every year now. And the Ipad 2 came out about a year after the Ipad 1 came out. At least with a pc you can get 5-10 good years out of it before needing to upgrade. Apple's hardware is like a new car line, changing models very year. They might as well call it the 2012 Ipad. Look at the 360, It's been out since 2005 and is still going strong. Sure a new Xbox will probably be coming our way soon, but 6 years is pretty good for the hardware. I dare Apple to even try to get 6 years out of any of their products before updating the hardware. It won't happen because they know they have their market by the short and curlies! I hate to say it but most Apple users are like crack heads. I'm not trying to offend anyone with that statement. I can understand kids standing in line for a new Xbox, I can't understand adults standing in line for a new Iphone.

Sorry if I hijacked this topic, I'll stop talking about Apple now. I'm really enjoying the Marvel Pinball BTW.

MUCH smoother gameplay. There is no stutter on the ball at all, and the flippers feel more reactive. Supposedly the iPad2 can run graphics up to 9X faster than the iPad1. I own the 1, and my wife has the 2. After playing this game on the 2, I would like to sell the 1, and buy the iPad3 when it's released.
