QUOTE (chocky909 @ Aug 19 2011, 11:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Can anyone help me? I've just started using Future Pinball and unfortunately the main table I wanted to play, Addams Family, is the one that I'm having trouble with.

I'm using 1.04B and I'm simply getting a corrupt game. The arcade room is graphically corrupt to begin with as there is a Moon Patrol cabinet spliced together with the Indiana Jones table on the left and a Donkey Kong sitdown cabinet mixed in with the Family Guy table on the right. Graphically and Audially (is that a word?) the Addams' Family table is fine but the problem comes with a few of the features. The main thing is that the ball save is broken and if you lose the ball near the beginning of play, it reappears in the plunger lane instantly, accompanied by Gomez saying "Why Thank You Thing!", completely skipping the 'ball over' score breakdown. The DMD will state that it is Ball 2 though so it's not like a ball save. Apart from that I'm not 100% sure if anything else is wrong but it's pretty unplayable as it is.

Now, I know most people aren't getting this problem so I'm trying to find out what my problem is. All my other FP tables seem fine, I've redownloaded the file from different sources and the CAB version is exactly the same problem as the non CAB. I've tried as many combinations of settings as I can think of including the tips included in the notes.

Don't forget to uncheck LOAD IMAGES INTO EDITOR in the editor options if you have problems.
If you still have problems try:
Choose Bilinear Filtering instead of Trilinear Filtering (Thanks for the tip Guus)

It has been found that with this table you will need to set model quality to maximum to avoid crashing.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium but I've set FP in various compatibility modes including XP SP3. I've also redownloaded FP and the current version I'm using is 1.9.1.20091231. My processor is an i5 2600k and my 3D card is the GTX 570.

Please help me. I really want to enjoy this excellent FP table.

Turn off the gameroom in the options menu.

As far as I could tell there was no ball saver on the real table. I was using the built in simulator in Pinmame to launch the ball and then drain straight away and it goes to the next ball. So this version has no ball saver.
Sorry if you feel this makes the table unplayable.

Actually, you're right, there was no ball saver but there's definately something up with it. Like I said, no one else seems to be having this problem. The videos of the table being played look fine and there definately isn't the graphical corruption that I have in the gameroom. I've also disabled the gameroom and it doesn't make the bugs disappear.

I'm sure that it is a particular problem to my setup and configuration. Perhaps it is to do with my processor, graphics card or motherboard? I've only just got Visual Pinball working recently and the Addams Family tables I've played are definately showing that my Future Pinball table is playing weird.

I actually think I got it working properly once but when I tried to pinpoint the cause I lost it. I've tried reinstalling Future Pinball but it seems to remember the settings. Is there a way to restore default settings?

I don't understand why you would still be having problems with the game room if you've switched the built in one off.

Also are you saying there is still a problem with the ball saver even though there isn't one. If you loose your first ball without getting anything to add to the bonus score then no bonus score will be shown. I know on the real table you get a bear kick for free, but not on this one.

I don't care about the game room, it's just an obvious indication that something is wrong. The way the table plays doesn't change when you deactivate the game room.

I think I'm struggling to describe what is wrong with the game but there definately something odd and that isn't there in the video linked to in the first post of this thread.

I'm going to upload a video I think...

here:

Is that normal?

Compared with the VP8 Gold table -

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining about your design - I genuinely thought my table was corrupt, mainly because of the lack of bonus rundown and the gameroom anomolies. If the bonus is the only 'quirk' then I can confidently enjoy playing the game knowing it works well. I only said unplayable meaning I didn't trust there would be more issues if it was loading incorrectly. I think you've done a fantastic job and it's the best looking adaptation of my favourite pinball table.

Apart from the gameroom that is normal. Nothing has been done to warrant the bonus count. ie no mansion rooms were started and no bear kicks.
I could have put in a BONUS 0 but didn't see the point.

OK. Thanks for clearing that up.
