One solution to increase the speed of the table is to turn off the alpha transparency on some of the ramps.
For example: click on one of the borders of a ramp. It is made of a ramp object too, and at the right you can see if it shows as alpha transparent or not. If it shows as alpha then changed it to solid. It still will look as good as before but the ball will not be seeing going under. If you look closely I have already done that to all the ramps that do not have a light under or that the ball doesn't go under. And I guess you can turn solid all the border ramps without you ever notice. Try it and you'll see smile.gif

JP

PS: maybe I can do that on a future revision? I think it is better to get the best speed possible, even if loosing some transparency.

I know I am having some speed issues and I appreciate you considering doing that on another release. However I don't think you should hold back due to some people like myself's pc issues. I think VP should be pushed to the max within reason so a good majority of people can play. I think it would be cool to have a release that ran faster but at the same time it's nice to have one as beautiful as this even if I have to upgrade some pc specs to enjoy it in its fullest

While I do agree with you, the main problem is that certain people with pretty beefy specs are experiencing stuttering with the new VP. I doubt very much that those people will be looking to upgrade when it hopefully wouldn't be necessary. I think the obvious problem is in VP itself in that it just has not been perfected yet and thus not optimized to it's fullest. Remember these type of settings are new to VP and like any other new feature in anything basically, will take more tweaking to get it just right. I'm assuming that the wonderful developers of VP are constantly working on better ways for the program to handle certain things and as a result we'll see better performance. Thank you JP for the suggestion, I'll try that when I have time.

Updated my graphics driver lastnight and It helped a little bit but not much.

btw I just wanted to say that I'm glad you ditched the Hard nudge JP on these 3 tables and just went with the single nudge strength.

Have you noticed any changes in the nudge? smile.gif
I have added a "counter force" to it, and I think it feels better.

@unclewilly: no problem just use the code. I got the idea from a thread here about a new core.vbs with a changed nudge and a thread at Pinball Nirvana by Shockman. Both had the same idea of a kind of counter force. Then I thought that this could be donw without changing the core.vbs. And if this new core.vbs becomes the standard then it will be easy to remove the code.

@arychines: be sure to don't miss the other new tables: Roadshow and the Flintstones smile.gif

Update 1.01:
- Made the table faster by removing the alpha transparency from the ramp borders. It looks the same only the the ball isn't visible under the border ramps. If I haven't told you I guess you would have never been aware of it smile.gif

@Sabbat & Wizards_Hat: I have taken a look at the lights and they are linked together in the script, since I don't find the ROM light numbers for the 3 backwall lights. So just now it will stay like this. The only 2 lights I don't use from the manual are the numbers 42 and 43, which in the manual they are called "Top Lane Red" and I haven't a clue about what they mean smile.gif So, for now the table is finished smile.gif

I'm glad the speed is better now smile.gif
