That's very strange. Isn't RICHTX32.OCX a standard .ocx found in the Windows\System32 folder? Maybe I caught it at the "Office"?

I just say when I open up the visual pinball, insert, activeX Control menu, nothing shows up on my computer as "Rich" anything or Microsoft Rich anything to select. I'm not saying it doesn't exist - I'm sure it's a standard file for windows.

No, I just found out that RICHTX32.OCX which is the file to create the RichTextBox is Not included with VB6 Runtime. Incredible. It exists as a Separate Download. Moot point as I found out that many of the ActiveX controls are also Not standard with Windows or I.E. or what else.
If interested, you can download RICHTX32.OCX here (to help complete your collection of orphan ActiveX Controls (thanks M$!)).

http://www.winhelpon...ds/RICHTX32.zip

I didn't realize that most or all ActiveX controls are only supplied by VB runtime or elsewhere and was hoping to depend on these controls as being standard to Windows. This is the page for standard Windows OS controls (see the link for "Control Library"), and if you have a better list I'd like to see it!

http://msdn.microsof...3(v=vs.85).aspx

This is the official Support Statement for VB6 Runtime-Files shipping in Windows (RICHTX32.OCX supported, but Not Included).
See "Supported and Shipping in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, and ..." for the (should be) available controls provided by the VB6 runtime via the OS on installation. All of these should be available. NOTE: A complete list of all useable system .dlls, controls and .ocx such as WMPlayer.OCX and "mplayer" is still to be found.

http://msdn.microsof...c/ms788708.aspx

Moot point though. RichTextBox is probably useless for a DMD, but a working Form, ImageControl or PictureBox?
I don't know yet. Haven't gotten there. Forms *can* be painted or drawn on. If we could use images inside of a Form, a "pixel" of a plasma display representing three levels of brightness against a black .BackgroundColor serving as the fourth value with an array
serving as rows and columns then it might work, but that's a suggestion, not a bug report.

FWIW, when installed, the RichTextBox is listed as "Microsoft Rich TextBox Control, version 6"

Copy and paste failure from vp910 to vp909 or vp908.
I have my WIP table saved in VP910 and i cannot copy over vp909
Also VP909 is not able to open the file it crash while loading.
I hope i do not have to restart from the beginning.

Hi bmiki75,

I'm sorry to hear that.

Did Copy and paste ever work between two VP instances?

And yes: once the table is saved with 9.0.10 you can't open it with 9.0.9, since there are new features, vp 9.0.9 does not understand how to handle.

If you are copying script, it is stored in the windows copy/paste buffer and script can be copied between anything.
Objects are copied into the specific instance of VP that the object was copied into - this allows for UNDO to work. You can't, and never have been able, to copy playfield objects between two instances of visual pinball.
You can copy between two tables loaded into the same vp editor instance - that has always worked. Currently for 9.0.10 released to the public, copying a decal will crash it. We already have a fix checked in for that which works fine - for the next release.

has there been any advancement on the performance issues when using transparent ramp/posts yet that UW, LH and JP have experienced?, or is this tied to the memory texture size option bug not being saved fio full screen mode?

Yes, performance is good again. There will be an option for that in the next version, but we have some bugs open.

If you do and make a script object or variable typo, then press play, VP will freeze and your work will be lost again unless you save before pressing play each time.

IMO i don't see much use for it if it's not backwards compatible UNTIL ALL the bugs are ironed out of it and more people start to use it. Does this also mean that the tables made in vp10 only work in vp10?

A BUG I WOULD LOVE TO SEE FIXED:
from 9.05 all the way thru vp9.09 there is no way to put a drop target onto a droppable surface (i.e. a PF) and have it show up! I had this problem with the ZEN table way back, and with each new release quietly hoped it would have been fixed as I did post about this problem two years ago when i first started that pin.
The only saving grace is now in vp9.09one can put an image onto a light as either an off image or as the 'on' image. this has saved my dogtown pin as i am putting in a changing PF and with the droppable PF surface all my objects already on that surface disappeared when I clicked on the 'can drop' option for the PF! thanks goodness vp9.09 lets you put images on lights.

I am not quite sure what you mean? I have made drop targets with images on them without a problem. Or, am I not reading you correctly?

Do you mean putting a Drop Target on the top surface of a second Wall that is set to drop on hit?
And putting a Light on the top surface of a second Wall that is set to drop on hit and have it stay on top of the Wall?

That goes back to the days of Dogfood 2. Was that ever fixed and working because I don't think it was. I don't know.
