I just bought a Cintiq 12wx and Corel Painter 11 - I'd love to help out on redrawing tables any way I can, even though I'm still kinda learning my way around the software. But the learning curve is a bit lower since Painter feels so organic, and I'm drawing directly on the screen.

And I've downloaded a few of the playfield images here so I can learn working with vector software, so thats a start! Ho do you guys go about transforming a playfield image into a vector file? Do you trace it, or redraw it all by hand? I've tried tracing the large image files, but the results are usually less than stellar, even on the highest detail settings.

ok maybe it's just a personal thing then, but I would never accept any sort of payment for what i consider an unpaid hobby! as high as my bills are and as much as I need money now (am out of work on workers comp again at 60% of my pay!) I won't ever accept money for a table or for helping anyone here. If by chance anyone ever did pay me, I would feel bad and would donate it to this site anyhow. VP is a hobby for me, nothing more, my friends and cousins all suggested (when I first told then I built tables) that I should try to sell them! I told them that as much as some of us may want to, we can't since the vp editor is open source and is a freeware product. anything made with it cannot be sold EVER! So, for me I just plod along making them for free...accepting nothing but friendly 'comments' about my table coding expertise (or lack thereof!!)

There is nothing wrong with accepting "no strings attached" donations for work that you put several hours into. It is your personal preference, but I would never expect other table designers to take this stance. In fact, if a good table designer felt motivated to release more due to high amount of donations, all the better for the rest of us. I would love to see every table designer become absolutely rich due to huge donations. Just because it's a hobby doesn't mean everyone doing it needs to be poor...
