I played two or three games of SW last night using 908... not arguing, just f.y.i...

Great table as always JP - good stuff!! The voice overs on this table make me laugh!!!

JP have you thought about building Phantom of the Opera or Jurassic Park both are Data East tables and have similar layouts to this Star Wars table

Phantom of the Opera or Jurassic Park: I'll need to think about it smile.gif Too many tables too little time smile.gif Hasn't someone made Phantom of the Opera for VP9? I thought about Jurassic Park, since it is JP, like me smile.gif Well, maybe next year smile.gif

Yes, Lord Hiryu made it and even gave you credit for the lighting code. The table can be downloaded over at the HS forums here:

Great table jp, I really enjoyed your older version SW and can't wait to play this new one tonight. I was busy this weekend moving in another pinball in my collection. In the past three weeks I have bought (and sold) 3 pinballs. High Speed (had for 3 days and sold it), Demolition Man and World Cup Soccer '94.

Awesome table. Thanks JP!

dblthumb.gif

I already had a FS version of Star Wars by you in my FS tables folder named....

Star_Wars_JP_1.01FS

Probably a mod by someone, but the version numbering seems like a newer version than this one. smile.gif I don't know where I got it. I didn't see it here. I deleted it after playing this version.

It was just a straight MOD of the vp8 version I believe, it was found at hyperspin forums.

If you guys need better pictures of Phantom of the opera. I have a super nice one, I can take pictures of, if someone wants to redo a VP9 FS version.

Just wanted to let everyone know, that someone on RGP is working on the ROMS for this SW game and fixing/altering them to make this game not so broken. As it stands from DE, the game is massively broken and a one shot game. You really have no reason to shoot anything but the ramp if you want a nice score. It's the reason I recently sold mine and bought a Tommy instead. This guy already in process and changing the code. I'll do what I can to get it for us on here. All the changes he's making are fantastic and very much needed.

That is nifty to hear. Make sure and keep us updated!
You gotta wonder why DE would have done something so foolish to begin with.
I guess they never really perfected the craft. <- Being nice

Actually what happened, is DE never finished the roms. That's why the speeder bike and the shifter do nothing. The speeder bike was suppose to be a video mode where you had to speed up and slow down to get the biker behind you then fire on him. Never was finished and they just made it a 15 million award for nothing. I don't know why they were rushed but I think it was do to the release of Bally/williams and gottliebs games at the time.

I remember when IFPA was running the pinball world championships in milwaukee back in 92, 93. What they would do is every manufacturer would bring their lastest release. And there would be 80 copies of that one game. One from DE, Bally, Williams and Gottlieb. So you would have banks of these 4 games all over the rooms. They might have been timed crunched to make that show that year and rushed it.

Wow crazy that they rushed it like that and never went back to complete it! I guess back in the days before internet it would have been a giant hassle to send out updates of the roms to all the owners. So they just didn't bother?

I know when I bought Outpost computer game in the early 90's I think, they had to send out a TON of floppies to update their unfinished broken game, lol.

They still do this - look at Stern's Wheel of Fortune. smile.gif Still with lamp inserts on the playfield that never turn on during a game, and no wizard mode.
