Hi,

I use VPinballX72_Minimal and it seems that transparency doesn't work when using a TextBox

Finally catching up on developments here, sorry.. Will go through some old stuff now..

Look to see if the stand-up targets and moving when struck and also the pop-bumper rings are actuating as they should for some reason on my end they move for a bit then get stuck in the up or down position.

I just checked, and the targets are moving when hit, but the bumper rings are in fact getting stuck.

Could you please try with https://github.com/v...runs/3712894542 ? This should hopefully fix it, but i need more people to verify, as i cannot repro the issue myself.

Just installed 10.7.2 figured it was about time to get back into it. Couple issues I'm having... There doesn't seem to be a command refference.txt file included. Is there a link to this file somewhere?

The newest is always here: https://github.com/v...ndReference.txt

I just updated VPX from 10.7.1 to 10.7.2
With this version, I get this error when opening tables:

vpx error parsing POV xml file: root is nullptr

Of course it worked fine on previous version, I found at Github that at lines:
6405 if (!oldFormatLoaded)
6406 ShowError("Error parsing POV XML file");

I use no autopov, every table has it's own POV... They were working fine un 10.7.1 but when updated that error showed up. And yes, wihout POV no error is showed.
I deleted previous POV and export a new from .2 version and the error still's showing...

Do you please have the specific file for me?

Might have found a bug with the Bumper Ring Speed adjustment.

I am trying to use the "Ring Speed" adjustment for a bumper object on an EM table, and am having no luck. I have tried to use this adjustment to slow the ring speed, but it does not seem to work. Regardless of the value, the animation speed seems to remain the same. Can anyone confirm this on their end, or tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Could it be that the ring is actually hidden and a primitive object is animated via script instead on that table?

Otherwise: Which table is it where the adjustment does not work?

Also noticed a couple of the flipper images got cut in half. Really strange.

Just had to export/import to fix it. Weird.

Fixed with latest 10.8 build.

Can confirm 10.8.0 rev 632 fixes the stuck pop rings on Firepower vs AI. Nice work!

Primitive Animations are also now frame rate independent, so i made it that these are now animated as fast as if the table was previously running at 60fps.  (the speed parameter of course still allows to tweak the speed in general)

[Edit : found a workaround fix but leaving it in case it might be useful]

Hello ! For the 2nd time I'm having an issue with VPX-GL crashing immediately after launching a table. The first time I had to revert to an earlier clone backup of my hard drive, I would really like to avoid that if possible.

Until now, VPX GL worked fine, except I got an empty backglass for VR tables like Harry Potter (only the DMD displayed in VR), or Stranger Things. The Pup pack display fine on my cabinet backglass monitor but nothing appeared in VR . (it used to work some time ago but as you keep tinkering, new things happen...)

Anyway, I reset my monitors display (with https://www.monitort...ion-Utility-CRU) and restarted the PC. Now any VR table I try to launch, I see VPX GL launching, I can see the table displayed in VR for a brief instant (only partially, with the rest of the view in black) along with a Windows "hourglass" icon, then it crashes to the desktop. I'm running VPXGL v605 (but also tried other versions) and VPX 10.8 .

Here's my crash.txt file. https://justpaste.it/db776

Would you have any suggestions ?

Thanks a lot !

=> FIX : I had tried to restart the PC but it didn't change anything. After CRU.exe and deleting an inactive monitor, I ran reset-all.exe and then rebooted. Now VPX GL doesn't crash anymore. I have no idea why though and would be interested to understand....

I just downloaded VPinballX-10.8.0-632 (sorry, as the name of this topic is "The VP 10.7 beta thread", I didn't realize that new replies were now about VP 10.8)

I'm a desktop user, played several different tables, and nudging doesn't work for me, using the same keys on my keyboard than with VP 10.7 (what is strange is that it nudges the ball !)

nudging.jpg

Also, transparency doesn't work when using a TextBox in the Backglass view (it worked with older versions of VP10.7 but I don't remember when this problem begun, it doesn't work with VPinballX72_Minimal too)

I can also confirm that, with the VPinballX-10.8.0-650 it doesn't work for me either. Everything is OK with Finale VPinball 10.7.2.

I have problems playing VPW's X-Men... from time to time VPX just closes during the game... poof and it's gone. It happens as well on VPW's Iron Man.

My system is Intel i7 16GB RAM RTX 3080.

Here is the crash file, maybe it will be helpfull sometimes:

Could be related to the very high memory usage of these 2 tables..  :/

As for 10.8 related bug reports: Please file these directly on the github page for better tracking.

Also, for now, 10.8 is still not really beta ready, but more like in its alpha stage (nevertheless, feel free to test and report issues!!).

vbousquet is still fixing and improving things left and right, so its heavily in flight.

But i guess 'soon'/very-early-next-year we can start the 10.8 beta thread.

natively ue5 uses c++ , can we directly inject the vpx routines into ue5 to use them in the creation of prefabs? (bumper, target dt...)

Attention anyone having layer trouble with 10.72+ versions of VPX!
I think I found a way to make it work (upgrading from version 10.71).

I have to revise some things based on other people's comments earlier.

  • Copy the new Vpinballx.exe file (AND ONLY the exe file, nothing else! and other minimal install/script files that seem format harmless in the Visual Pinball and script directory)
    - Run the new 10.72+ exe file
    - Under the "Video/Graphics Settings" menu, click either "Set for HighEnd PC" or "Set for LowEnd PC" in the lower right hand side of the menu window
-Tables should run with no missing layers

I am currently running version 10.73 after several prior unsuccessful attempts

I'm not sure why my missing table layers issues are gone now, maybe 10.73 did fix some of these things.

I am FAR from being an expert...

I hope this post can help or encourage others who were having table layer issues.

Thanks for the coaching to encourage me to dig deeper Digitalarts & Toxie.

This is NOT the normal way of update... Some newer versions brings other updated files, too. For instance bass.dll, base .vbs in scripts ...
And your "lowend video settings" deactivates some essential optics of newer tables...
