Regarding just quickly placing a image on the pinDMD3 you can use this app

http://www.pindmd.co...pinDMDldImg.exe

make sure you have a pinDMD.dll next to it (same .dll used for everything else)

and place a pinDMD_logo.ppm in same location.

It will just display that image on the pinDMD3 when run.

Russ, thanks for the Image program.  Is there an easy way to display your default logo also (Sorry to be a pain, but this is so cool)  thanks

Ah how do you mean? instead of clearing the dmd once a table is closed restore the pinDMD splash screen?

not sure what the rules on this would be. prob best if you want this. I would have to add a param to the pinDMD.ini config file maybe something like restore_splash=true or something so after closing a table it restores the splash screen?

all this requires firmware and .dll framework work / upgrade so will have to fit it in some time hehe.

Mine came early... $53.70 in Custom's, but I got it.

Couldn't be easier to setup, installed 64 bit drivers, copy over new versions of the dll's and pretty much done. I did have to go through my tables and enable the DMD, I'm assuming a tool would have done them all at once, but I didn't have that many to worry about.

Now to actually build the cabinet it is going into :(. I'm months away from that, still waiting on solenoids and components for the Pinscape project. Want to get all that working on the bench before building the cabinet.

Could be worse. I've ordered a Oculus Rift so large Canadian cost to ship here but for those living in Australia, shipping there is over $130 and if you aren't on the mainland, there is extra shipping costs there too! Ouch!

I'm certainly enjoying mine and I found a more advanced version of PinMAME modified to work with it.  Everything works, except Wrath of Olympus and PinballX.  Tom is working on the Pinball X mod, so that is in the pipeline. I've spent a lot of time perfecting the color pallets for each game.  We should probably build an optimized database for coloring since it differs significantly from the one I used on my old LCD screen.   I would be happy to contribute to that project because I'm really happy with some of my color schemes.  Not so happy with others, of course, but I'm working on it.  All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and the support I've received.

Think vpforum has had a restore? as its seemed to jumped back in time lol?

Any way....

Regarding pinballx, Tom has fixed it :) (thanks Tom)

Please replace the XDMD.dll and XDMDNative.dll with these ones

http://www.pindmd.co...nloads-v3/xdmd/

And it should spring life :) (works for me perfectly)

Russell Pirie

Hi Russ,

Avast is reporting that pinDMD3Demo.exe and pinDMD3ldImg.exe are infected with something called "DRep".

Best Regards,

Kruge99.

Ok done some reseach (think i dont see the errors because i create the file locally)

Reason you see the error is because you download the file.

"DomainRep is a new feature of Avast, so let me explain a bit. It blocks EXE files downloads if these conditions are *all* met:

1. The file is not prevalent enough, ie. not enough Avast users launched the file yet,
2. The domain is not prevalent enough, ie. not enough Avast users downloaded (any) EXE files from the domain yet,
3. The file is not signed or Avast does not trust the signature."

Basically Advast been an ASS.
can you just disable this DomainRep crap?

Not sure if there is any thing I can do my end?

My PinballX DMD came right on, too.  Thanks to all involved!

For the problem with Avast and downloading:

Right click the avast icon on the taskbar.  Highlight "Avast Shields Control."  Select "Disable for 10 Minutes."  Download your files and Avast will come back online a few minutes later.

Thank you for looking into this Russ!  By the way my pinDMD3 looks amazing!  It really lights up the entire room depending on what pin I'm playing in colour!!
