Just a head's up ...

Piggyback boards, transformers, plasma DMDs, and PinDMDs (already available) will be listed on the VIrtuaPin site in the very near future.

We'll also be offering a great price on a pre-wired, drop and mount setup with all the above and speaker panel.

:)

Any update on when these kits will be available?

anyone had this problem? DMD has been hooked up to a real machine and has no dead pixels but when hooked up to the cab with pindmd2, piggyback board and power supply from this thread it's not fully working. I couldn't find the wire clips to attach to the molex connectors so I wonder if the wire to the molex isn't complete enough to power

I would definitely double check for your 12v, 5v, and ground connections

Double checked those. They are solid. I went straight from my PSU to the dmd piggy. I changed my wire from 12 gauge stranded to 20 gauge solid core wire. I think my problem is I didn't get the .156 trifurcon male parts. I just ordered some so I can get some better connections to the molex connectors. Hope it works

Hey guys! I am not working on a virtual pinball pinball, but I'm working on an arcade cabinet which will also feature pinball support. So I got myself a PinDMD2 a long time ago and since I now have space to build the thing, I ordered a DMD. Seems that it was plasma, and I already panicked about getting it powered. This topic has been amazing. I ordered a powering board from Zedsboards already, so I now have 1-3 months to get a transformer to get the 80v / 100v. I live in The Netherlands, (230VAC) if anybody knows a site where I can get a transformer for 80v/100v or 2 separate ones, I would be very happy :)

Okay so I hate to "bring up the obvious" but since this thread started over a year ago-- are the same parts needed to get an authentic Vishay DMD to work?     I'm at the point where I'm ready to buy one for my virtual cabinet and just need a simple breakdown on all the parts needed for a real DMD to work.   Sorry I tried searching this thread but so many pages/info its hard to tell if technology changed to make it any easier or if you still need all the same parts listed on page 1 of this topic.

Many thanks!

Same parts. The transformer is being sold by VirtuaPin as well. Other than that, the other parts are all the same.

Here's a link to the 80/100v transformer sold by this very website:

Thanks!  So this is what I need "in a nutshell"

DMD Piggy (Is this offically gone?)   Is Zebulon the correct alternative for this?
80/100V transformer
(PC Power supply for 12v + 5v) + connectors listed
PinDMD
Plasma DMD (of course)

Making sure my shopping list is correct.

Awesome!   Is the 80/100v transformer actually supplying both of those voltages?   Just making sure I only need one transformer instead of two separate 100v and 80v transformers.

Yes it does both. If you don't have 22 gage wire or the IDC wire installation tool or you can use a small flat head screwdriver you might want to pick those up as well.

The Piggyback boards will come with the necessary wire harnesses to run a plasma DMD on a virtual unit.

$39.95 for the board and two harnesses. One for power from PSU and one to DMD.
