Tough to say Grozby, you need to figure out which side is positive and which is negative.

You can use a 1.5v AA battery and a 100 -200 ohm resistor to test it. Once you know which side is the positive side, you can solder all the pads on that side together to make one big (+) pad and connect the positive voltage there. The R G and B wires then get soldered to the individual pads on the opposite side.

Hi ZEB,

When you say "the pads" ... you speak about red circle or green circle on the pic below ?

Sorry for my noobs questions !!! lol

Try This.....

Attached File  LEDTEST.png   8.78KB   34 downloads

When it lights up (even dimly) you will know which side of the led is + and which is -

Then you jump all of the + together and attach the signal lines (RGB) from the board to the other pads.

Ok....finally got the site located somewhere where the shipping calculator works. Everything is back up and running

www.zebsboards.com

I'd like to try and keep the support questions to the forums over there as it will be easier to find the info yoou need without digging through a 20 page thread.

Thanks everyone.

Just started collecting parts for my cabinet build and ordered a set of boards. It looks like this will really simplify things in my weakest area. Thanks for the hard work Zeb. Tony

Thanks Tony, it'll be shipping out Wednesday evening, I'm just waiting on the clips for the mounting plate to be finished.

That's just an isolation diode, the same as what is on the board. There's no harm in keeping it onthere. It's like having twice the protection...:)

I feel dumb for asking this, but how do you fasten the ribbon cable wires to the LEDWiz terminals?  The wires are much too small for and terminals won't hold them with the screw in as far as it will go.  I tried folding them over to double them up and still too small.

Am I going to have to fasten 32 connectors to these wires in order for them to hold?  What am I missing here?

Sounds like me a couple of days ago. While this isn't the must reliable way of cabling things up, here's what I did...
I stripped a bit of the wire, then folded it back against the unstripped portion (bent it back 180 degrees) and clamped that into the ledwiz terminals. The insulation provided enough bulk to hold onto. If you go this route, I'd recommend verifying all the connections with a volt meter, but it worked for me with no problems.

Sorry for being late to the party, seems like everyone has handled it for me....:)

I just strip back about 1/2"-3/4" and wrap it around the insulation and insert it.

Okay, dumb question #2.  How are you guys mounting the board(s) in your cab?  The acrylic base doesn't seem to provide any way to mount it.  There's no accessible screw holes once it's assembled, and not a whole lot of room to drill any either...

If I was mounting it in the bottom, I reckon I could just use double sided tape, but I was considering mounting it to the side.

I keep meaning to source out those pcb feet that are available at groovy gamegear, the ones they used to use to mount the Jamma boards......I'd mount it to a piece of hardboard before installing the boards but after the 1/4" standoffs, then you could just screw down the hardboard.

Alternately, you could mount some z brackets to the underside and mount it with them.
