if you use the bridge to pinsound (sound mode 2 or 3), then yes. otherwise (sound mode 1) these are only rudimentary supported.

If it is not a big problem, it would be useful to have the reset for the X and Y position of the DMD (X = 0 and Y = 0), as the restoration of the window size.

Thanks

A restore of the X and Y position as to the size of the DMD window.

..and new builds are up in the first post:

- wire up master volume control for (pin-)sound mode 1

- add 'Restore window position' to menu

- New methods for the Controller object:
HRESULT NVRAM(/*[out, retval]*/ VARIANT *pVal); - Get the full NVRAM of the emulation (e.g. high scores, settings, etc. as a binary blob of 8bit values)
HRESULT ChangedNVRAM(/*[out, retval]*/ VARIANT *pVal); - Get only the NVRAM parts that have changed since last call (similar to ChangedLamps), first dimension has the location, second the new value (only 8 bits are valid), third the previous value (only 8 bits are valid)

(see http://www.vpforums....=40#entry346441 for details how to use it)

Hi Toxie

Thanks for the updates. Sadly I forgot to mention the previous 64bit dll I got from here did not work when setting the sound_mode property. I remember I resorted to finding another 64 bit dll from the vpuniverse website which worked when setting sound_mode. I then only later discovered the volume control problem and reported it here.

So I did download the new dll you posted now to test setting the volume but was greeted again by the issue of setting sound_mode having no effect. I double checked again and went back to using the previous dll I was using mentioned above and setting sound_mode works.

I can provide the working dll to you if that helps? I will try go find the post on the site where I found it as well

thats really weird. will look into it.

(the 64bit version was not officially released anyhow, so its not a big issue for the official releases)

Thanks , I went and found the page link where I sourced the working dll, there is some discussion about sound mode issue in the thread although non of them are discussing setting it via code like myself and also they dont make mention of what was tweaked to get it working, they simply provided the build :

http://vpuniverse.co...hl= sound mode

second last post on the last page has the link

now for something different:

an experimental version supporting external sound files! it is currently for example also rudimentary compatible with the PinSound packages..

if you wanna test it:

- create an 'altsound' folder in your PinMAME directory

- create a folder inside 'altsound' with the name of the machine/ROM (so for example 'ij_l7' for the latest Indiana Jones ROM)

- dload one of the sound packages from the pinsound webpage and put all the subfolders (sfx, music, jingle, etc) directly into this machine folder (for example the 'Indiana Jones Reorchestration' package)

-> so you would have something like c:\pinmame\altsound\ij_l7\jingle\000106-monkey_brain_award\Monkey Brain Award Reorchestrated.wav

(and a ton of other files of course)

- play the corresponding VP-table as usual, but decrease the ROM-volume to 0 OR disable the ROM-sound in the script

its an early early test version so don't be mad if some games don't work as expected (so far i tested TZ,IJ,T2,AFM a lot, these are close to perfect i think/hope).

with pinsound 1 enable in pinmame 2.7 and i dissable in script rom sounds like you say TOXIE  then i have no sound anymore , also turning down volume to 0 i cant do because it only lets me go to 8 , must the rom music be turn off TOXIE ?

I just played with Star Trek 25th Anniversary and I noticed that the sound is low compared to VPinMame 2.6, the sound is half.

Here I attached the two audio files to hear the difference.

I know. But as you can also hear, the music is much closer to the original machine now. Thats part of the overall improved emulation that respects more hw-commands and has more accurate playback of the samples.

Unfortunately i have not found a way yet to make some 'negatively' affected machines louder without influencing other machines that use the same chip (e.g. they would feature https://en.wikipedia...lipping_(audio) then).

Great job, thanks Toxie !!!

Now Star Trek has the same sound volume of VPinMme2.6, but it sounds a lot better, the sound is more clear, and the Baywatch sound is louder.

I for now I just tried these two tables.
