Just reminding that analog nudge is still borked in 10.7

 

Is it?  I'm running a RC version and my Pinscape nudge works fine.

 

 

If you are running anything within the last 20 builds i think you will find it is not working fine.

Open the nudge test table

Try and nudge ball sideways

ball only goes UP

 

Nudge it Realllllly hard

Ball only goes UP

 

Got a joystick?
Plug it in
Hold it to 1 side
All balls should slam into the side of the table right?
But they dont, in fact they do not continue to do anything, but they should due to the continued input
all they do is bump UP and come back.

 

Also, you have to increase the nudge a hell of a lot to get the balls to do anything

 

Now while the balls are not doing a damned thing you tell them to, look at the indicators on the apron
they are moving correctly, but the balls are definitely not

 

 

I second this man.

 

 

any fix other than use an old version?

 

EDIT: Actually, it only behaves this way with XINPUT, not DIRECT Input..

 

 

Pretty sure it does this on my dInput controller as well? guess i will have to break it out and retest.
but without xInput you dont get any dof like feedback
I dont think dinput gives feedback even with a working dinput controller

 

 

by feedback do you mean rumble? I am simply using xbox 360 controller so I dont need much "feedback" personally.

Yes the controller vibrates, in xinput anyways

I was testing today revision 277 and Revision 280 and On my system they are not usable....

Can't open by clicking VPinballX.exe or by double clicking table file, Pinup Popper doesn't open it too :(

VPinball.X is there in Task Manager in details tab but Can't see it in processes and can't alt-tab to it :(

On the other hand, Thalamus's special build exe works like a charm, every time and fast...

so for couple of last revisions I have more and more problems running the app at all (newest builds), or closing it when in popper and running next table (from time to time using older revisions)

It's getting worse with every build number :(

10.7.2 made my DE Simpsons playfield disappear, messed up my DE Indy Rom, & made my Haunted House flippers disappear.

There were probably other negative effects as well, I gave up after those table tests...

After all that I went back to 10.7.1... (with allot of effort).

Not sure why you are having those issues
but to go back to 10.7.1 you only have to drop the vpinballX.exe in
no script or dll changes presently

So, the newest in this thread. Like any release since 166, hangs on my end. The latest maybe more often than any I can remember. But, well, I'm not going to make a very accurate measurement of this fact. What I did just now however was to download the very latest code (2 days old) from github and compiled the exe myself.

 

This one I ran over 70 times in a row without ANY hangs.

 

What is the difference ? Compile on my machine of course - vc2019, no upx crap which breaks pinmame I should add ...

 

If anyone trusts my exe for not being infected by virus - what about giving this one a try and see if it is any better for you ?

 

YES, the file is much larger than the release that you normally see. This is because it is NOT compressed like the official. Someone is bound to answer that question I guess.

@luckpcn : Yeah, it is odd. Quite sure that Toxie is right; that they (Microsoft) updated some build tools in github and that, for some odd reason makes troubles for some of us. I will be able to compile a new version, and so do Toxie, on his own machine, manually. Until this is resolved, getting the latest from github won't work very well. I believe, have to test this more thoroughly, that it doesn't happen on my cab which runs Win7. Maybe it is related to the CPU model or something odd, it surely can't be just Win10, since pr. example JPSalas has been running that for a long time and HE does use VP on almost a daily basis.


From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Strange is that I test on 2 WIN 10 machines: on Intel i7-11700F rev 277 and 280 doesn't open at all, but on AMD Ryzen 7 3800X rev 280 opens...

on my pincab in rev 277 and 280 it's like critical issue :( can't start it at all :(

Haven't tried to overwrite a file of dropbox - if the link still works even it is a new file. In case it does, there is a new exe ... same as 283 there now.

Your works ;) I'm gonna use it but still... it's under the table unofficial build.

 

In Case any1 want me to test any special build with additional logging or something to track that nasty unopening bug, let me know.

Still getting random non-opens on 283.  More 'non' than open.  Tried to find out if another program like Chrome is hosing it with no luck.

 

 

 

Thalamus' still opens with no issues.

Same disappearing backgrounds here with 10.7.2

 

Win10/[email protected]/AMD RX470 with latest drivers/8GB RAM

is this only on a PUP table?

If you disable PUP
and launch the table
does table itself work?

Man all this disappearing stuff just has not happened to me. I'm on vpx 10.7.2 rev 283 32 bit, I7 with nvidia 1060 6gb, newest vpinmame 3.5-SC, latest july runtimes installed. I'm only in desktop mode but I try everything these guys are playing- some with pups, many without- and no vanishing stuff whatsoever (thank goodness, knock wood!)
