It crashes if I go to Preferences > Configure Global Physics Sets, it does not save the crash report file.

i´m testing  VPinballX-10.7.2-277-30548e4-Release-win-x86.rar

Sometimes the tables do not open when double clicking.

By double-clicking for the second or third time, the table finally opens.
If I do Alt+Ctrl+Delete in the task manager, I can see several Visual Pinball processes that have not been closed after closing Visual Pinball.

On my cab
I have that same Issue I believe with all the versions of 10.7.1 including this version of 10.7.2 (About 40% of the time)

It seems like if I click on the taskbar 5 or 6 times and then Click on the shortcut it opens every time Or almost every time
10.6.2 and all versions 10.7.0 work fine
-
On my desk top all versions open like they should
A difference between my cab and desktop basically on my cab I use A 1070 video card and more monitors

@Victor74 @Outhere : If you open Visual Pinball 'normally' (so not double clicking a table), does this work all the time?

Any devs here that can repro that issue with VPX getting stuck?

Looks like 279 doesn't "open"  Shows in task manager, but nothing further.  Regressed to 277.

I downloaded and replaced every file in my folder with this new package. I get an error message before the table is loaded enough to show that says "Line 89 object required" which is "with controller".

The tables opened correctly if open from the executable, it failed to open a table with double click.

I did not check if it closed correctly or left the process open when doing it from the executable, I just saw that the version failed and I went back to a previous version that does not have that problem.

@toxie

Can confirm if you open 32bit vpx more than once or twice in a row quickly it will crash you have to kill the visual pinball task in task manager (but I'm not sure why you'd want to do that...)

However this DOES NOT happen in the 64bit version, and you can open as many as you want as quick as you want and it's fine.

If I click on a VPX table file (which I never normally do) it just opens the blank editor (I'm not sure how it's supposed to act as I never normally do this).

(Win10 64bit, 32gb ram, Ryzen 5600x)

I've noticed that on VPX 10.7.1 rev. 217, 207, 203 and 196 and 187 (that 5 I've tested) it happens that when closing the VPX it is still there in task manager, can't switch to it and can't re-run it until I kill it's process.

Last working fine for me was revision 133.

But it occurs on my side the way that for example I play a table for 30 minutes and then quit VPX, and then try to load next table and it doesn't load, so it's not that quick one after another.

So is anybody also having issues starting VPX 'normally'? So not by double clicking a table, but just plain launching the .exe

I do not see this issue using v277, it starts every time. I do however have to slide open the sides of the window, it will save open for a while and then after a few restarts the .exe will open with the sides closed again. Still not sure if alternating between VPX and VPVR is what's causing it :) Note, I have deleted Reg Key "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Visual Pinball\VP10\Editor"

Thanks. I basically want to find out if the '-ExtMinimized' or '-play' command line parameters are the cause of the hangs.

So for the guys where double clicking a table hangs VPX: Please test just launching the plain .exe.

If that works, please launch the .exe with -play tablename.vpx.

If that works, please launch the .exe with -ExtMinimized -play tablename.vpx

Anyone know how to replicate the issue?

what is the catalyst?

I am even running 2 tables, at the same time just to try and induce the issue
and cant.

Not sure which is more frustrating?
Having the issue
or not being able to replicate it even once

The problem I had (controller error) was fixed by changing to the 32 bit build but the only thing that shows up on the table is the 3d elements with no texture graphics at all except for the drop targets and the standup targets behind them. The backdrop graphics don't show either. I don't know what the last beta build I used was, wasn't long ago, but it worked very well. I just run VP and load tables from the editor. I have enough older builds that I can still get my table to work correctly

I double clicking the EXE and it would not load
If it's a hit-or-miss
I had to use a task manager to kill it off

Yes.  Same as Outhere.  Opens with no window.  Must be killed off in task manager.  Regressed to 277.

Is there something that you guys all have in common, that others like me do not have?
a certain piece of software or something?

Seems like there should be something(s) in common among those having the issue?
Maybe if we could figure that out, then could test against it?

i tried to induce it, i even was launching 3 tables at a time, but all i got out of that was slow performance
but i could not get an instance to actually hang up.

What do you guys have running, that i dont?
Cause i will be happy to try sticking some things in to see if it blows up finally

Is 227 the last revision before the issue started?

Guys with the "hang problem" - can you take a look at https://www.vpforums...=44135&p=504813

As you see, for me, there where a change between 166 and 167. Admit that the commit/change to the code, just doesn't make sense. But, nevertheless, testing these two versions should just take a couple of minutes.

Wiesshund provided the versions two posts above the link.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.
