I disagree with having the depth of view option. Pinball is not like 3d video games in that if the ball is in the upper part of the playfield, I myself am looking at the bottom part of the playfield to check what lights are lit, blinking, and/or off (with the exception of multi-level pinball). Having portions of a table blurred just doesn't cut it unless the program can detect your eye movement. :D

I could have been smart, but I never learned anything by being smart!

No all is set on D:\Pinballx\  Unit3d and all other located in each separate folder but I finally get the trick ;)  Thanks  Just finished to add it to Pinballx was not a pleasure but finally get it to work, my problem over pinballx was the playfiled focus when pinball start the table you have to wait few more second and the playfield finally appear but the focus stick to backglass so that was impossible to insert coin without assistance of mouse to click on Playfield area ... but finally get a small AHK exe from other place and it's working like a charm now even better with the possibility to add config file for each table... Can't wait to see the next version and I saw a video where it seem to have lot more setting in dev mode could be interesting to have the same for fanatic of setting like me :)

Afternoon, How would I go about creating a captive ball like this

https://www.dropbox....captiveball.jpg

In FP , create captive ball from a non rendered disabled kicker.

You don't need a kicker anymore. Check IJ script, it is exactly the same captive ball code. You just need to know the exact location (in 3D)...

Is that my captive ball on the very top right ?

You just need to know the exact location (in 3D)...

Anyone got a good way to find this, I have no clue I'll be honest :)

Gonna have to sort these DE flipper solenoids. God knows why I choose DE tables , but I have 3 on the go where none of the flippers work. Can't waste anymore time trying to get a pair of flippers working. Bloods starting to boil a bit.

In editor mode, Table Explorer, select any object (close to your goal is better) then translate it to the place you want to put your captive (Above th eplayfield!). Once in place, just copy the value in "Translation": these are in glbal space, thi sis what you need to copy in script...

Sorry, I don't understand there. DE? Am I so noob? :).

Strange you can't make flippers flip... Are those tables ROM driven? If not, send me your current script, I'll see what I can do...

Data East.

I have a driver for it, I'm sure I had Lethal Weapon working, but when I went back to reference it they weren't working, so it must have been a dream :)

I'll ship the table over if it's ok.

Another noob question: Is it possible to import new textures into an existing upt table? If not, do you guys plan to release your tables also as fpt? Is there any downside to this exept the longer loading time?

I would really like to replace the shity Future Pinball game room textures with something higher resolution.

Not really a noob question. We provide utility functions to use pre-loaded textures from fpt and thus, the texture manager in FP. However, built'in textures (as gameroom, reeels, etc...) are indeed not changeable right now. But you can definitely load from disk using the unity's "WWW" class:

// Start a download of the given URL
var www : WWW = new WWW (url);

// Wait for download to complete
yield www;

// assign texture
renderer.material.mainTexture = www.texture;

The "url" parameter can either point to a web resource, like "//http://www.unit3dpin...ider/slide1.jpg

But be care full not to load too much things this way because this can slow down the loading process of your table. Moreover, paths MUST be table relative to work with everyone. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the in depth answer, but I think my programming knowledge is not enough to do a full table, but I would love to retexture the game room and maybe redraw some playfields at higher res. So I quess I have to wait for a retexture feature. Is this planned for upt files? You wouldn't be interested to release the finished tables in fpt too?

BTW, sorry for not donating yet (and even take up your time with my questions), I am just to broke this month :-(

EDIT: Will there ever be a section on this board for Unit3D Pinball.

Really annoying wire ramp problems on the plunger launch. Soon as you add rings or guide to the wire it doesn't like it. Tried friction/bounce to see why it gets stuck. Changed different heights. Very strange and annoying to test with.

Can see here where it likes to get stuck.

https://www.dropbox....o8upq/robo2.png

Can see I've tried pulling the ring up too, no joy, takes a lot of time messing around with. Ended up with the same problem on white water.

Had a quick look at it this morning. There is a stand up leaf target under the wire but probably 10mm lower but it's colliding with that still.

Really?

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I can't turn off the Bloom and glass effects fast enough.

Nice. We got more forum space now , cool.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I can't turn off the Bloom and glass effects fast enough.

The effect is way too intense out of the box, I couldn't see why anyone would want to use the bloom higher than quarter of the way up. Start from the very bottom of the sliders and move very slowly up until the effect is very subtle and looks good.

HI Guys. Noah created a brand new Unit3D Pinball Dedicated section:

http://www.vpforums....hp?showforum=90

It will be clearer to follow specific threads.

Please, add your current table conversions (chepas and destruk) in the "WIP" sub-forum.

Ask your questions regarding scripting in the dedicated sub-forum too.

There is also a section for bug reporting/feature requests.

Many thanks to VPF for hosting and huge thanks to all of you donators and testers...

Had a quick look at it this morning. There is a stand up leaf target under the wire but probably 10mm lower but it's colliding with that still.

This bug has been corrected and will be available in the next version (sorry and thanks for alpha testing the API/import!)

Really?

Bloom is highly related to: table global colors intensities, mainlight value, camera position and, of course, bloom parameters. The default value were set up for addams with very low mainlight for a "night" effect.

Moreover, tehre is a known bloom parameters bug: these are not applyed after a relaunch. This will be corrected in next release, sorry.

We are thinking about a mechanism to provide default lighting settings with each table (more user friendly). In the meantime, you can use separate config file using the "/config <path_to_config>" command line argument...
