Cheddar.

Unfortunately you are right.  The modified FPLaunch files are the culprit on my cab.  When I replace your modified FPLaunch exe and ahk files with the original 1.295 wip10 versions then my problem disappears.  With these original files PinSelect now loads FP perfectly as it is supposed to no matter if I start a FP table first or not.  But now that means pinselect won't load FX2.  Bummer.

Would you mind looking into this?  I really like being able to launch all three programs from Pinselect.  It is a great FAST frontend.  I really do appreciate your work fuzzel and cheddar.  So thanks again.

I tried a couple more times, made sure the version I test is really the same file as the one I uploaded, I still can't reproduce the error.

Can you download and try a few test versions I put here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/zku28w

The fplaunch in directory 1 won't be able to launch Pinball FX2. The ones in directories 2 and 3 should start FX2 without problems.
Please test all three and give me feedback if any of them resolve the issue.

Cheddar. I won't be able to test this for a few days. I will report my findings. I did look at your test files which only include the exe's. Which version of ahk should I use with these exe's? The original ahk or the newer version you posted before? Or does it matter? Thanks Nick

I'm way late to this game, but very excited to get a chance to try this out..

I do have one question: I noticed about midway through this monster thread you mentioned there would be no support for the PBW.  Does that also mean no support for the Mot-Ion Plunger?  Are those two not the same hardware?

Doesn't matter at all. The ahk is the source, the exe is the compiled file. So if you delete the ahk or don't change any of it it will work anyway. Just ignore the ahk's.

No it's not the same hardware. I don't own a PBW or Mot-Ion plunger so I can't test it. But the source code is available and you can add it ;)

Cheddar.

I'm happy to say that all 3 work just fine.

#1 runs VP and FP perfectly

#2 and #3 run VP, FP, and FX2 perfectly

I know this is really odd but I tried the original exe that I was using with all of the problems and now it is also running perfectly.  I can't explain it.  I didn't change 1 single thing.

Thanks for the help man

Damn, I hate it if errors go away like this. Well, at least it works :)
I think I will upgrade the mod to the changes in #3 anyway in the future. It looks a little better.

Thanks for testing!

Much faster than HP.  Pretty simple to switch for HP to this.  My only problem is that the main table image is where my backglass is, the wheel is in the DMD.  Once I select a table to play everything goes back to normal.  Table is my main display, dmd is where the dmd should be and backglass is where it should be.  Any suggestions?

hmm sounds like you have problem with your screen setup. Playfield should be screen 1, backglass screen 2 and dmd screen 3.

Thanks.  That's what I thought, but as soon as I manage to start the table from the backglass screen, just from memory from Hyperpin, the table and backglass and DMD all work in order as they should.  I'm going to keep tinkering. See my short video to show you what Im talking about. https://www.dropbox....0802_171336.mp4

I can't seem to find a way to switch the default values for screens in PinSelect menu.

*after further investigation (right click>screen resolution) I did notice that my main playfield displays the number 3, backglass number 1, and dmd number 2.  I have them aligned from left to right 3, 2, 1.  This has never given me issues as long as I have my main playfield on the left, backglass in the middle, and dmd on the right. The reason I have it setup this way is because my DMD disappears and I cannot find it anywhere.

This may have been mentioned earlier in this post, but I think my situation is a little bit different.  I figured out how to get the table selection back down to  playfield screen.  The entire time I had the hyperpin folder open on my screen 2 (backglass) while opening PS.  When I moved the open folder to my playfield screen and then opened PS, table selection screen was correct.  Making progress.  Although my backglass is behind the playfield screen now and not where it should be on the backglass screen.

PinSelect uses the screen order of your system but it makes assumptions that screen 1 is your playfield and screen 2 is your backbox
I don't have a three screen cab so I can't test this...

All is good now.  Thanks for all your help.  Are you still working on updating versions of PS or are you all done?

Just installed and tested PinSelect - first impression: GREAT! Much, much faster then HyperPin on my Win7 64Bit cabinet build. Easy to use.

Thank you!!

One problem so far: If I wait a few seconds, PinSelect starts to switch through all installed tables automatically - bug or feature?

If this is a feature, can I turn it off? Thanks!

Edit: Anyone? If PinSelect switches through the tables it didn't react to keyboard inputs - any change to fix that?

Hi everybody.

I just tried Pinselect for the first time, it seems the perfect solution for my slow pc.

I have a couple of problems: first, I don't see any table/backglass/wheel image (while in hyperpin I do), second, when I exit the table I get a Visual Pinball error, exiting from hyperpin is fine.

Many many thanks, cheers

Pinselect has to be in the same folder as Hyperpin. The database must be in a subfolder called database and the settings.ini must be in the subfolder settings.
Then it should work if you set the respective path names

many many thanks for your kind reply.

Pinselect is in the same folder. the database subfolder is named "Databases", if I change its name I get an error. settings.ini is in settings subfolder.

Hyperpin works correctly, pinselect works too but without images, I can only see table names (if I enable it in settings.ini).

Thanks again !

Do you have a backslash at the end of the path definitions in the settings.ini? Is your media folder in the same directory as the exe file?
Just play around with the folder definition on the settings.ini.

Many thanks again, really.

Messing with the settings.ini files I think I found out how to show at least the backglasses, but the real problem is this error I get every time I quit a table:
