Hi Zeb
will increasing the contactor voltage a little increase the feedback though?
Thx

Not noticeably, the contacts only move so far in the relay. Closing them faster won't make them hit any harder.

Hi Zeb I've got the 2 truck strobes on either side of the playfield flashers. Also, 10 RGBW crees that I wanna put all the W in series. What's the max load that we can run off the strobe output? I suppose I'd need a relay off the strobe output.

Having a hard time with my memory today....have you got the old style boards or the newer kit? The older style are good for roughly 3A on the output, the newer style are good for 5A.

You landing some aircraft in your games room with all those runway lights???......:D

Looks like Canadian Pinnovations will be expanding soon. Will there be an opportunity to buy shares anytime soon? :)

LMAO....Canadian Pin-novations will be expanding into the garage soon....I can't solder in this kind of volume in the house. I'm seriously thinking that I'm going to need shop space soon, if for no other reason than to get me out of the house.....:)

Luckily spring is around the corner and I can get back to doing my "real" job.

Maxxsinner has thoughtfully busted his butt to get me going on a webstore. For the past few days we've been working away at getting as much of it going as possible. It's still not open for business, but feel free to have a look....

Stop on by, there's a forum for questions and answers. Hopefully we can centralize the discussions on my boards and equipment there and make it easier for everyone to find the info they need.

So here's an update on where everyone's orders are.

- Still waiting on the arrival of the leds (should have been here by now but they are coming by DHL so I know they are at least en route)

-Had to order the dc amplifiers from a second source as the primary source screwed up and posted my order by HonkKong Post rather than the DHL delivery I paid for (how can you screw up DHL? It's only 3 letters....)

Upshot is...unfortunately it will be another week until I can ship out guys. Sorry for the delay, but since I have no North American supplier of half of what I need I'm kinda over a barrel with suppliers.

On the upside, I have ordered enough inventory to have a surplus and hopefully avoid this mess in the future.

As soon as I receive parts, I will be shipping within several hours. (I really need the room...:))

Thanks again for your patience.

Hey Zeb,

First I wanted to thank you for all the effort you have put in on the booster board project.

I am planning to start the adventure of building a pincab. I am a noob to this and don’t quite have a full understanding of all this is involved with the project from an electronics perspective. I’m an IT guy by trade so I’ve got the PC part figured out. I was hoping you or some other members could help give me some guidance. As others have posted in this forum, it sure would be nice if there were some How-to’s and FAQs on the various hardware topics in an organized matter. Maybe there is and I don’t know where they are. Anyways, here are my questions:

  1. I am definitely planning to buy your boards. This looks to really simplify the process. As far as the control inputs/outputs go, I am planning to use a led-wiz and a Mot-Ion plunger kit. Based on my understanding, I would use the Mot-Ion as my input controller and buy the 32-output led-wiz to connect to your boards. Is that correct? I don’t plan on adding flashers or a shaker motor so not sure if I even need both boards but I assume it simplifies providing power to other devices since you can use a standard ATX supply if you have them both.
  2. Are there any alternatives to the Siemens contactors for feedback? The ones I’ve found are obnoxiously expensive.
  3. Does the Mot-Ion work well as a nudging device? Is there something else that anyone would recommend instead?

My build plan/parts list is below. I would appreciate any comments/suggestions on the hardware I have picked.

VirtuaPin Button Kit

VirtuaPin Flipper Fidelity Sound System

Mot-Ion Plunger/Control

39" Westinghouse LED

(4) COUGAR CF-V12HB Vortex Fans for cab ventilation

Contactors??? Looking for an alternative to the Siemens

PC Build

ASUS P8Z77-V LK Motherboard

CPU i5-3470 3.2GHz or i5-3570 (haven’t decided)

Rosewill Bronze RBR1000-M Power Supply

RAM 8GB

SSD 128GB

250GB SATA drive for backups and storage

Main Video Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit

Second Video Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB GDDR5 128bit

Hi,
What ini file should I use the one with pwm or the other one? What is the difference?

The pwm one will dfo 16million colors on the leds but add to the stuttering effect. The non-pwm one uses red, blue and green only (but does combine them) and so reduces the stuttering effect.

I'd try either one, they both look great.
