As for DDS: You can at least use this on video RAM, by enabling texture compression in the video preferences.

Not quite the same, not to mention the long delay due to needing to crunch down the jpgs/pngs

New build, again no new features, but rather a large (long overdue) restructuring by vbousquet again (thanks for that :)), so please test if all still works correctly: https://github.com/v...ase-win-x86.zip

This build gives an error on my old pincab (i5-2400s, RX550, win10) but works fine on my one year old laptop.

There is a message box with NVAPI and an exclamation mark then another box with NVAPI and some weird symbols.

Dont use the 64bit version unless you feel like installing 64bit everything including vpinmame and b2s server (which you have to compile yourself)
and then after all that, resolve yourself to being a guinea pig, and also accept that many Stern roms will want to adopt various anomolies

Interesting..  :/  Thanks for the testing! We will look into it.

Toxie
When launching table there are 4 NVAPI error boxes
and when exiting the table there are 4 more (which you cant see in exclusive full screen so you blindly hit enter 4 times)
All show gibberish like the above screen shots

NVAPI is an error from from the Nvidia SDK
I of course do not have an Nvidia GPU

It may trip this error only on AMD gpu's because i dont think i saw it on my laptop
which just has an intel HD4000 video device

This is on build 211 even

It seems to play fine, once you poke past the errors.
Not sure what may have changed in it regarding the Nvidia support?

I've noticed that on VPX 10.7.1 rev. 207, 203 and 196 and 187 (that 4 I've tested) it happens that when closing the VPX it is still there in task manager, can't switch to it and can't re-run it until I kill it's process.

Last working fine was revision 133.

Especially problematic in connection to Pinup Popper - can't load another table after one was closed.

Any1 ?

Possibly related to NVAPI errors, which you might not be able to see
4 of them pop up on exiting a table, you have to poke each one to get vpx to shut down
except, if you cant see them, you cant poke them

@Toxie Any word on that error and what changes have prompted it?

@wiesshund Can it be outdated nvidia driver ? I think mine is something like 1 or 2 months old though.

No

For the simple fact i DONT have an nvidia card period
My laptop just has onboard intel HD4000 and it does not get the error
My 2 Desktops have AMD GPU's with latest drivers, and both get the NVAPI error

I do not experience this issue with Nvidia driver 512.95 or yesterdays release 516.59 with VPX v207

Did you have the same as I, and it stopped after driver update?

Negative, I have not seen those issues at all. What I do notice, and I'm pretty sure it was not an issue with 10.6, is that if I open "any" 10.7 .exe and choose a table, closing that table and choosing another will result in VPX hanging indefinitely so I have to force close with task manager. I thought maybe this was a feature preventing VPX from getting corrupted while going from table to table making you have to close VPX before starting another table. What's weird though, is that with the VPVRGL.exe you can close a table and go directly to another without it hanging indefinitely. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can comment here :)

Do not think that is intended as, aside from having to poke away 8 error boxes
i can go from table to table with no issues

Can anyone answer if the background colour in VPVR 10.7 can be set to black from the current grey?

eg if you create a blank table in VPVR 10.6, the background void of elements is simply black.

In 10.7, it is now grey.

Now I know I can fudge it and create a huge sphere element around the playfield and have it black. It would be good if I don't need to add another element on the table if I can avoid it.

Cheers,

Thanks, it might be time for a clean windows 10 install for me then. With this (this being the inability to play more than one table sequentially using the .exe but it works fine in PinUp) happening and also the .exes (VPX and VPVR) are now opening with the side panels closed again, even after deleting the key you mentioned, I think that started again after continually switching between VPX and VPVR.
