:( I had 8gb but think my mobo keeps killing my ram. 2 sticks died in the last year! It mostly affects my Photoshop stuff.

Are you using this version Judge Dredd --  JD_VP10_7.vpx

im running v5 - cant find v7, the link for that version is broken. This is probably contributing to the stutter for that game

The main difference in setup is
Video Card
Motherboard RAM
Video configuration settings.

Do you think the video card is not sufficient?

Personally I think more code optimisation is required but that's my non educated view.

Do you get any stutter on CV multiball?
What kind of FPS do you achieve and with what video options enabled in VPX?

here are videos as promised ... CV i'm getting 128fps during multiball....

excuse the autofocus on my phone was going in and out a bit...

Do you have ambient occlusion turned on or off? Do you have any Antialiasing turned on in Nvidia Control Panel?

This is my NVIDIA settings (under manage 3d settings"

FTANOCb.png

and VP settings

riPZ1Wq.png

Fren,

appreciate the help so far. I have set my video settings to exactly as you have described. I also turned off ALL windows update settings.

This has helped with the stutter, however there are small elemets of it still present, particularly when the ball passes over "some" lights etc. Its better than it was before but not completely gone. I guess its still a beta so i just hope that good effort is made to optimise this before release.

I am yet to try the Judge Dredd table, so not sure how these settings will go there. I'll revert later.

Thanks again so far.

@hauntfreaks - any chance you could host that JD file or provide a DL link? The link on page 1 of test table thread is broken

Yep. I still get some ball stutter or tearing when playing multiball in CV. It's better than before but still noticeable.

Did you try AO unchecked? And b2s running in exe mode? Right click on b2s

Yea AO off, B2S in exe mode. I also reduced the detail slider a few notches and it's help some more, but it's still there (albeit less obvious each time).

Is this an indication of insufficient ram or graphics power? Do you guys run your machines connected to the network.- would that make any difference?

Well vp is not going to use anymore ram that's for sure(32bit app) but your os could sure use more. Honestly what you have should work just fine assuming your windows is clean and running correctly to begin with. I've installed vp running on way less power and has no stutter! Maybe it's your display? Is it in game mode? We should move all this to a different thread sorry Paul(and devs)

And it must have started with later revisions of vpx, because it wasn't always like this...

Any luck finding a fix? I haven't yet.

The Playfield screen doesn't have game mode etc it's a cheap and nasty. I wonder...., however i dont have these issues with previous vp versions.

Edit: VP9 plays silky smooth by comparison. I can't believe this is just my setup.

how could it not?... some of us are having smooth play in all versions of VP... I think you may be in the minority.... but i can commiserate with you frustration, I also had a few rough patches... but i have been testing since the first beta was released, now all i do when a new one come out, is throw a few files in the folder and for the most part, just watch the awesome new features accumulate ;)

I don't see hardly any performance hit with AO, but AA is a massive FPS killer for me.

Ok let's explore monitors.
What resolution are you guys using? 1080p@60hz? I'm also using DOF if that makes a difference
