Forgive me freezy and other colleagues. I had created a topic for help and found this today that it is basically the subject I need and a lot.

But I have not found anything yet to solve my situation.
Please someone help me !!!!
Frezzy, I watched the PATH, and did as I was informed but I still can not see my real dmd with the dmd of fx2.
It is working normal, including the cmd command appears to be all ok.
The virtual dmd also appears on my playfield screen, but when I run a table the actual dmd gets the black screen.
Below I forward my cmd to get an idea.
I think it may be some detail that I'm not observing. Sorry my bad english.
 what could it be???  :cray:

hey guys

I'm trying to bring FX2 to show up on my pin(tu)dmd but I always get the same output. Doesn't matter what driver I use

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]

 [1] 2017/07/24 14:05:55.629 DEBUG | Checking port COM3 for PinDMDv3...

after that the cursor is blinking and nothing more happens.

I'm using libusb0 usually and all is working fine through VP or PinballX. I also tried libusbK and WinUSB.

COM3 is used by a PinControl1, just in case it will be asked

FX2 is configured as cab, dmd size is as written before in this thread. Its position is 0,0 behind PF. But I guess that side is not the problem, more the fact that the pintudmd is not shown in system for this kind of wireing.

I hope someone can give some tips

cheers...

I had this all working fine, but somehow I screwed it up messing with trying to colorize it.  I messed with dmddevice and dmddevice.ini in various places on my computer (vpinmame dir, pinballx dir, dmdext dir) and now I can't get it working.  it freezes at detecting PinDMD3 and says bad parameter and does not continue.  I have this working on another machine and I don't know the difference.  Com port is fine (I think) as I have it working with VP and pinballx (kinda as in VP it flickers and doesn't always keep up and show some dots some times.  I knew I should have left everything along.  any ideas from other PinDMD3 users?

I found a solution to the problem

i ran "dmdext -test --destination=pin(1+1)dmd" and it tested fine,

so i changed the running code adding --destination=pin(1+1)dmd to the end and that is great, i now have an ugly version of the display but i read about that in a previous post so i'll try that fix.

After a long night of troubleshooting I found that if you launch a game from within Pinball X, using Dmdext, it will not capture Pinball FX2 on my WIn10 rig IF you have DMDEXT set to run in Admin mode (which I had enabled for Pinball Arcade)... So in case anyone else has the issue, there is the solution. Maybe have a 2nd dmdext for admin mode running.

Yeah. It is kind of weird how Win10 behaves. Some need to run VP and other components as admin, others get into troubles if they do.

Conclusion. You need to test both options if running that OS.
