Has there been any joy yet with the issue of bam and the dmd picture graphics working yet like on terminator and pirates of the Caribbean? Not the movie overlay just what's on the dmd. I must say though top work on this project as with the 3d in bam now this dmd on the third screen I'm edging more towards future pinball than vp!

any idea why the grafix in pirates of the caribbean are not shown in futuredmd ?

Hey gogo,

Pirates should be working fine it is one of my testing tables. Are you only seeing the text or nothing at all? Which version of FP are you using or are you using BAM?

Thanks

hi ! i only see text ! i use your futureDMD version 1.1  with FP physics 2.5 (2.5.178) no bam .....

hmmmm.....

Is there any resolution for this?  I noticed that gogo mentions later that it started working for him, but I've tried everything with no luck.  Pirates of the Caribbean "Gold" edition shows the dmd graphics just fine, but neither the Physics 2.5 or the Zed Pinball version show graphics on FutureDMD for me.  I just get the text.  Any ideas?

P.s. Disable GLSL Shaders is unchecked and I'm using BAM.  FutureDMD works amazingly otherwise on most tables.

Great Program! I do have a question. I am trying to give certain games a custom DMD color. Seems pretty straight forward

But can not seem to get the games to display any color other than the default. Was wondering if anyone could post their ini file

to see what I am doing wrong? Or if anyone has any tips. Everything else works great! Thanks for the help.

If you are running Future Pinball and FutureDMD through a front-end like PinballX, all of your fpt files must be located in the Tables folder. They should not be in their own table specific folders.

Other than that, the header in the ini must be the same file name as the fpt.

I have it setup that way but the color stays default. I attached my ini layout to see if I am doing something wrong. I loads threw pinball x just fine, but the color stays default.  I can change the default color but it does not change individual tables.

My FutureDMD.ini - I have custom colors set up for three tables. The header for each table should be the same as the filename (minus the ".fpt").

[default]
red=245
green=100
blue=50
highscore_1_1=" is #1|"
highscore_1_2=" Rules|"
highscore_1_3="HIGH SCORE|"
highscore_1_3_2=" "
highscore_1_4="Can you beat|"
highscore_1_4_2=" ?"
avg_time_1_1="Average Game Length.."
avg_time_1_2="Average|Survival Time.."
avg_time_1_3="Most Balls Drained in.."
avg_time_1_4="Can you last longer than?.."
PosScreen=2
PosX=3840
PosY=200
SizeW=768
SizeH=192
Orientation=2
Mirror=1
Shades=0000000000000000
[A Nightmare On Elm Street]
red=255
green=0
blue=0
[MOTU ZED1.0_dmdmod]
red=221
green=62
blue=255
[ReelItInv1c]
red=128
green=255
blue=255

With PinballX, all fpt tables must be located in the path for your tables folder. You can't have them organized in individual folders under the Tables folder. Think where tables are located for Visual Pinball.

Here's the Future Pinball section from my PinballX.ini running with BAM:

[FuturePinball]
Enabled=True
WorkingPath=C:\Games\Future Pinball
TablePath=C:\Games\Future Pinball\Tables
Executable=BAM\FPLoader.exe
Parameters=/STAYINRAM /open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exit
LaunchBeforeEnabled=True
LaunchBeforeWorkingPath=C:\Games\Future Pinball
LaunchBeforeExecutable=FutureDMD.exe
LaunchBeforeHideWindow=True
LaunchBeforeWaitForExit=False
LaunchAfterEnabled=False
LaunchAfterWorkingPath=
LaunchAfterExecutable=notepad.exe
LaunchAfterHideWindow=False
LaunchAfterWaitForExit=True

I changed something and I can't figure it out. I am using HyperPin, Bam and FutureDMD. I have been getting my 3 screen table up and running. I had Tron Legancy working (awesome!). The DMD worked great. I dragged the playfield DMD off the translight screen and resized the backbox for backglass only. In other words it was perfect.

I got HyperPin to launch FutureDMD and Bam. I moved on to other things and finally took the time to learn how to get HyperPin to launch Future DMD. I was surprised when the DMD was displayed but no activity. Next I emilinated Hyperpin by rebooting, launching FuturePin manually and the Tron via Bam. Still nothing. Frustrated I chose the Tron Led table and tried. Both DMDs run but Future DMD sits idle.

I checked and the Hud DMD is 128x32 as it should be.

Any thoughts on what I could have done?

Hey guys, been a while since I logged in. I see a few guys having trouble with some tables so here's a couple things to try that might help out.

-make sure there is only one dmd screen on the table or backbox that is sized 128x32. If there is more then one just resize the others to 128x16. DON'T delete them or you will have script errors.

- I have noticed on a handful of tables that using a dmd 128x32 on the backbox won't work. I haven't dug into the reason why, but what I do is delete the dmd off the backbox and create a new one on the playfield @128x32 and drag it off screen. Give it the same name as the one I deleted off the backbox. Then make sure its the same name as the one I deleted. It has worked for me every time, recently with the X-men and AC-DC table that wouldn't work from the backbox for me..

- make sure you aren't accidentally opening more than one instance of futuredmd from a script, windows boot up or manually. If there are two futuredmd's open you may not see a display.

It is amazing what a good night sleep will do. I knew it was something foolish. I moved the Future DMD files into the Bam directory instead of the future pinball. Hopefully that will help someone in the future.

Awesome program! Thank you for the help.

I think you can have more than one 128 x32....here's a note about setting DMD priority I posted at GoPinball

"Just a note about determining which of your DMDs gets picked up by FutureDMD

The FutureDMD.pdf suggests deleting redundant DMDs or downgrading
the resolution of undesired DMDs to 128x16

While this may give you your desired DMD on the
third monitor, you end up with a dumbed down inferior one elsewhere. Also deleting DMD's can cause conflict if the script is calling for them.

After some experimenting, here's how to pick which DMD is being used on your third monitor: The DMD that was created first has the priority.

1. Play the game and see if FutureDMD is already picking up the right one
(Say DispDmd1)

2.If not (ie FutureDMD has picked DispDmd2) then do the following:
Change the name of the undesirable one ie change DispDmd2 to DispDmd3

3: Create a new DMD and call it DispDmd2

4.Delete the one you changed to DispDmd3

5.Now your table should work with your desired DMD ( ie DispDmd1) being used
on your third monitor, as it has priority in the pecking order.

This has worked successfully in all my tests so far"

Cheers Gimli

Bump... any thoughts on why some tables only show text on the DMD and not graphics?  Again, Pirates of the Caribbean "Gold" shows graphics fine, but neither the Physics 2.5 or the Zed versions show much graphics other than the occasional pirate when a target is hit.  Thanks!

From the FutureDMD readme:

"If the table uses an imagelist for display backgrounds or effects, then these must be left uncompressed

and there needs to be less than 1200 textures in total. I’ve not found a table that exceeds this yet, but

there are sure to be some out there. In this case, the table should still run, but you will find some effects

missing from the DMD screen."

I've started running into issues myself, but just with some SlamT1lt tables with DMD animations, like the resolution went all off. I'm pretty sure it has to do with my experiments downsampling from ultra high resolutions. And now I'm having trouble even bringing it back even at 1920x1080. You might try re-downloading the table or re-installing FP. I'm not sure what else to try.

Ok, I resolved my problem. It was enabling trilinear texture filtering under Video / Rendering Options. Don't do it! It's just not always compatible with the textures in DMD animations. Bilinear filtering works fine. May be that's what's happening for you?

The Bilinear option was already checked on mine and I tinkered around with other settings in POTC with no luck.  Any other ideas anyone?

Hi, I recently bought a nice 3 screen cabinet running VP and FP(2.5 Physics) tables.

All of a sudden my futuredmd (1.7) stays blank when playing FP tables (BAM). It is active and I can also see the faint orange dots.

It still works in pinballx

I guess I made some change, or maybe pressed a wrong key but I did not update any software.

The problem is I can't trace it back because I mainly play VP tables

Anyone know what might be wrong?

Thanks for helping me out

UPDATE:

figured it out myself. changed the opengl32.dll along the road. Replaced with the right one (536KB I believe) and it works again.

First sorry my English is not the best.. :bye2:

But i have a Question i run Future Pinball with FutureDMD on my three Monitor Cab

Can anyone tell me what must i do to became the Video from Tables like Tron ore Alien ect.. on my third Monitor (DMD)

at the Moment on this Tables the Video and Score runs  only in the Backglass...

Thank`s  :love39:

Danke

I believe he means the HUD / Overlays in FP that have custom colour DMDs and videos....ie SLAMT1LT's tables.

The answer is you can't have FutureDMD display HUD/Overlays as they are not "DMDs" in Future Pinball. These can only be displayed in FP's backglass itself. I get them to display on my 3rd screen backglass with a custom extended FP backglass resolution that extends on to the top half of my 3rd screen. The bottom half is for FutureDMD.

P_20151224_162535.jpg

Is there any way to have futuredmd NOT show on screen or load for only some tables when launched with Pinball X? I have it working fine with Pinball X opening FutureDMD for each table and closing FutureDMD after exiting a table.... but I have some tables that don't have any kind of DMD, and I would like for Pinball X to show something there instead of a blank unused DMD from FutureDMD.

I know you can have each table have its own specific colour via the FutureDMD.ini file, but I was wondering if you could have FutureDMD minimise or close itself based on a particular table name as well.

Very cool Terry,  nice work !!

 What's the difference on your third monitor between a minimized FutureDMD vs a blank FutureDMD?

Are you wanting the pinballx  3rd monitor info to persist on those tables without DMD's ? Not sure if this can be done, good idea.

I could create for you a standard animated "Pincadia" DMD template that you could use on all those tables ( you still would have apply the template one by one on each table) but it might be cool...as it is the same drill for each table it would likely take 2 minutes per table to apply...

I have list of DMD animations used on other tables, that can be used

Let me know if I can help

Cheers
