I'm not getting the diamond on the first 2 points, only the last. Where would the diamond normally be, center on left side, then center of left?

This single diamond is cast of virtual cam to table surface (virtual cam is above this diamond).

This position is taken from "static cam".

In Simple Cam / Simple PS3Eye last option in menu is "3 points".

You shold chose it  (press enter on it)... and BAM will guide You.

its working now ... slow fps caused by webcam and low light. daylight = 30 fps ,but its a little bit shaky ... would be nice to figure out how to make it look like on cam or one eye but with two eyes... the effect is relly great with only one looking eye but also with two eyes. But i have to upgrade my hardware. One question: is the ps3cam better than normal webcams? I mean only 640x480 but 60fps and becuase of eyetoy maybe a better detection at low light.

Any experiences ?

One PS3 Eye is far better than webcam.

It works greate with low light. You can set constant frame rate. (no frame rate drop with low light).

BAM Update!

Small update:
- Fix to prevent creashes, then BAM can't write to "cfg" folder
- Added empty "cfg" folder to ZIP
- Improved calibration procedure for "Fix Cam" (in HT w/PS3Eyes)
- Now "Fix Cam" gives usually much better results.

This is demo of tracking accuracy (after good calibration)

Hi.

Please update BAM to v0.7-29 (Yesterday released).

in v0.7-28 have bug. When BAM try to save "tableName.cfg" to "cfg" dir (BAM do it when You close menu) and it can't create file (because "cfg" dir not exist or BAM don't have rights to write to it) -> BAM crashes.

New version in this case will save "tableName.cfg" to BAM dir.

If BAM still crashes, when create dir "cfg" inside "BAM" dir.

It will 100% solve problem.

Since the addition of the screen capture feature, I am unable to use "Prntscrn" to save my playfield graphics. BAM only captures and saves the backbox image.

In BAM.cfg file is line:

Snapshot = 44

You can change key to for example "O"

Snapshot = "O"

--------------

You have to add path to dirs (in BAM.cfg):

SnapShotPath = c:\playfield
SnapShotBackboxPath = c:\backbox

(You must create dirs).

BAM save screenshot as files: "tableName.png"
Same name for playfield and for backbox
Because backbox is saved as second, if You did not specifi two diffrent folders, when backbox screenshot overwrite playfield screen shots.

I can to name files diffrent, but from what i understend, HyperPin loads files with same name from 2 folders, one for playfield, one for backbox.
This way if You set paths to Hyperpin folders, screenshot will work "out of box".

Ohhhhh boy!  it will be interesting to hear the impact of the CPU load.  One advantage with kinect, you don't need to modify any lenses, no LED's to track, etc.  Good luck with this, would be an easy all-in-one solution if it works!  If you need testers, let me know, I have a kinect (though I am away until March 4th)

Hey Guys,

Just getting wind of all of this.  I have a PS3 Eye so I will try out the one camera setup tonight.  Just to confirm Rav, do I need to make a calibration board to set up 2 PS3 cameras?

This is sooooooo exciting!!!!!!

2 PS3 Cameras must be modified to see IR-Light.

Yes. You need calibration board to setup 2 PS3 Cameras.

ok i am having big trouble setting up wii remotes, they set up in windows (win 7 32bit), i get the battery indicator working sometimes? now all of a sudden the remotes are fully charged but show 50% on the 1 remote and nothing on the other remote. but they wont go any further ,im also getting lock ups when i press q to exit and sometimes lock up when left alone for a little legnth of time with the latest version of bam ,they dont seem to see the calibration board  although i did get it to calibrate 1 time but then froze when i tried to save. it just seemed to do different things everytime i restarted bam. not really sure where im going wrong. also how can i tell if my calibration board is working right? have tested with the meter and it has 3v going to each ir led but they dont light up which i assume they dont?

1. Don't trust battery status as indicator of properly connected wiimotes. Below it is "Cam ID". It is id number of wiimote. If both values must be grater than 0 and diffrent. Battery status is updated, then cam see dots. If wiimotes don't work, look at WiiPair if both are connected (and press "A" button on wiimote, if leds start blinking, it means than it is not connected).

2. If You use frontend (like hyperpin) it use key "Q". Try to change menu key in BAM.cfg file to other key.

3. If cam see calibration board, it will display in "cam view" frame 4 dots. When You move calibration board thes 4 dots will move.

4. IR LED usly operate at 1 - 1.5V if You check with multimeter, and get 3V it usly mean, that You have to revers polarity (switch + and - ).

5. To simply and fast check if IR led is workink, use Your cellphone camra. You should see light from IR-LED on cell phone.

If You have small batter from clock (or PC matherboard) like CR2032 You can connet IR-LED without any wire to it. It will glow (only cellphone camera will see light).

Is there a newer version of future pinball than the 1.9..... version on the website? I finally got the face recognition working for the ps3 eye toy but anytime I try to leave the menu it locks up on me.

Last time i checked, there is no update of future pinball for over 2 years.

If You have problem with PS3 Eye toy ...  check list:

- test it with CL-Eye test

- make sure, that it is connected alone to "USB port pair" (USB port are mouted in pairs on motherboard, 2 ports share bandwith, if You have connetec PS3 EyeToy with other device it will make problem at high res)

- You can reduce FPS for cam. It will not make big difference (in "Simple PS3Eye" mode)

Thanks rav for all your help with this,i think ive got it up and running with wii remotes it looks good,you have done a great job on this project so far, just a couple of questions ,when you move your head closer to the screen the screen seems to go deeper rather than closer is this right?

Every thing is working ok.

Try to make movie with cellphone camera. Keep tracked led close to camra sensor and move camera (with tracked led). You will see, that video will be ok.

Do sam thing (but close one eye).

In my last video You can see how i move led very close to screen surface and how table is drawed. In 37-42 sec of video i move ir-led (virtual camera) from 0.25m (10 inchs) to 0.03m (~1 inch) form screen.

Since the addition of the screen capture feature, I am unable to use "Prntscrn" to save my playfield graphics. BAM only captures and saves the backbox image.

In BAM.cfg file is line:
Snapshot = 44

You can change key to for example "O"

You have to add path to dirs (in BAM.cfg):

(You must create dirs).

BAM save screenshot as files: "tableName.png"
Same name for playfield and for backbox
Because backbox is saved as second, if You did not specifi two diffrent folders, when backbox screenshot overwrite playfield screen shots.

I can to name files diffrent, but from what i understend, HyperPin loads files with same name from 2 folders, one for playfield, one for backbox.
This way if You set paths to Hyperpin folders, screenshot will work "out of box".

That was the problem! The back box picture was overwriting the playfield shot. Creating 2 different folders and creating paths to each folder fixed it.
