Just reminding that analog nudge is still borked in 10.7

Is it?  I'm running a RC version and my Pinscape nudge works fine.

If you are running anything within the last 20 builds i think you will find it is not working fine.

Open the nudge test table

Try and nudge ball sideways

ball only goes UP

Nudge it Realllllly hard

Ball only goes UP

Got a joystick?
Plug it in
Hold it to 1 side
All balls should slam into the side of the table right?
But they dont, in fact they do not continue to do anything, but they should due to the continued input
all they do is bump UP and come back.

Also, you have to increase the nudge a hell of a lot to get the balls to do anything

Now while the balls are not doing a damned thing you tell them to, look at the indicators on the apron
they are moving correctly, but the balls are definitely not

I second this man.

Gonna chime in. Left-right nudge works for me.

Running rev 338 on Windows 10 with a kl25z running Pinscape in a slightly janky homebuilt cabinet.

x-max=100 x-gain=425

y-max=100 y-gain=425

deadzone=0

"Enable Nudge Filter" is checked

What do you mean by perpetual motion? My setup seems to be working fine.

UPDATE:

Changing deadzone to 10% killed all nudge. Changing to 5% made nudge barely perceptible. Changing to 1% was acceptable.

Can you plow ALL the balls on the table into the left or right side of the table and hold them there?
If you take the KL25Z in your hand and thump the left side of it into your palm
every ball on the table should try to beat a hole in the left side of the screen, like you just flipped the cab over on the floor.

If they dont do that, it probably is not working right, because it is not working right for anyone else either.

A gamepad is somewhat easier to test with because the nudge force does not go away until you let go
so you can sling the balls around the table in a circle when it works right

I'll give it a shot and report back

Be gentle with your KL25Z
when i say thump it on your palm, it does not take much of a tap to register as a +13 magnitude earthquake :)
technically, with the way they work you could just shove it quickly in mid air any direction as well and it would be the same effect as sling your cab across the room

end result though should be a massive ball exodus into the other side of the table

Any news for this renderdevice issue? I get it occasionally on 2 cabs and 3 PC's that I use for table authoring.

---------------------------
Fatal Error: shader compilation failed! Unknown (0xffffffff: n/a) at D:\a\vpinball\vpinball\RenderDevice.cpp:796
---------------------------
Just got it 4 times in one hour and I'm losing my marbles. Mostly using rev310 for now as it has been the most stable.

BUG:

I think I found a small bug in the table info window: the table author overwrites the email. Take a look at the picture and you'll understand.

Even if you change the email field it will get overwritten next time you load the table.

I am trying to rotate a table and many posts ago, a picture of the editor was shown where offsets, screen rotation was shown.  I have seen other posts where people have accidentally shut down a tab (including me) and I no longer have an option to rotate the screen.  All I see is the layers tab.  Once in a while, I can see the "properties" tab, but there are no choices available except for dragging the bar around the screen.  No options under it, I can't re-attach it to the editor.  How do I restore functionality to allow me to rotate screen, etc?  Or can I simply re-install 10.7?  I"m not sure if I have the latest/greatest version...

Bug report:  Playfield mesh sometimes allows ball interaction with mesh edges, even those across flat surfaces that are cut only to create a grid.  Ball will catch, hop, and sink into the edges that should be non-interactive.  Behavior can be seen on tables with a playfield mesh where the ball falls through or sinks into an edge somewhere (often in the plunger lane) and the authors have placed a VPX wall or ramp beneath to hide the problem.  In my WIP this is an obvious problem throughout the table.  I’m a beginner at this, but the mesh and implementation has been reviewed by other authors and their diagnosis is that it’s just a long-standing problem with VPX: pre-10.6.

Attached is my WIP and related files.  SS.blend is the main blender file and ssHoles.obj is the mesh exported for VPX.

https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing

Thank you for VPX and all you do!

(Edit: The "table" is mostly unscripted atm.  Plungers work, and use right flipper to spawn a ball.)

Happens on Cyberpez's Haunted Hotel
Ball will hang on the line at the lower edge of the lower playfield glass window.
Has a mesh for playfield, looks absolutely flat etc

Thing is, it will also do it in 10.6, but a lot more frequent in 10.7

Wiesshund,

Thank you for the help!  I tried default editor reset (didn't work) but deleting the registry key DID restore the tab to let me alter camera view settings.

AWESOME, thank you!

hello gurus
I have a problem with rev 357, I don't know if it's me or it's a bug
I can't change the values of the Default element scatter window, in the phisics tab of the table
it was at zero. I managed to put a 2 by importing the physics although it kept showing a zero I could overwrite with 2 and I accept it
and to test I try to put zero and it stays at 2

It does work for me. I tried flippers, bumpers and a wall. Remember that if you are changing several objects at the same time you need to press enter to confirm you want to change them all. But if you change a single object then you don't need to press enter.

He means in the general table physics, not for specific objects. I can confirm the same bug in 357 and 310.

Hmm I can't reproduce this. I load the default table switch to the physics tab of the table. Enter 42 for Playfield Scatter, switch to another object and switch back to the table and 42 is still there.

Yes, I see the bug now :) But the bug is a little more than that: When you enter a value in "Default Elements Scatter" and you click on the table to see if the value has been entered, then you'll see that the value has been copied to the "Playfield Scatter", and the "Default Elements Scatter" has not been changed :)

rev359 is up (Release Cadidate):

- fix table default scatter value handling
- fix table info where table author was copied to the email edit box
- add an additional left<->right flipped stereo3D interlaced mode
- implement serial port communication via VBS (see CommandReference.txt)
- slightly optimize DMD copies

Works for me now
