Sure there is ... current upstream is 346 - minus your 270 = 76 builds. Some changes larger than others, and, yes some of those changes AFTER your build is nudge related. THIS is why, wheh you report something working or not should include the version you are reporting on !!! Imagine the devs; trying to figure out what broke, when - if everyone just talks about 10.7 some build version like it is the newest ?! The devs does this for free, so at least make sure when you report something it is as accurate as possible !

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Thanks Thalamus,

Wow, so much progress on 10.7!  I will be more careful about always noting the build I am using going forward.  I'm keen to try the anaglyph 3D mode being talked about, but not before the analog nudge issue is resolved.

Why not ? Something breaks. Something is added. You, in this case, just needs to keep your favorite copy of 270 as you go to build. If you want to try out new things, see if those work - do it. There is a super tiny chance that a upstream build will break something you've already spend years building. And, well  -taking regular backups and knowing how to setup you machine again is kind of essential anyway. I've said this a few times already. I often take a new build - rename it with a build number. Place it in the vpinball folder an manually test it. If it is a "good" release, I just rename it to vpinball.exe and that one becomes my default. Currently I have 10.6.2 and many 10.7.xxx - but my default is 308 I think. Not at the cab to verify.

Still though. I would not be afraid to download a new build can call it maybe ... VPinballX.348.exe and manually running it if see a new feature that I want; of if they have included something new. But, like I said. I would try to be very accurate when I report a bug. I see that my go to is actually outside of the nudge changes as well, so I haven't really noticed. By looking at who has reported it; I would not be surprised if it involved me to; but, I simply haven't played with version where this was change enough to have noticed.

In playing, i would not know really, mind you i dont really nudge alot and usually screw it up when i do

it was in the "Not playing but going through normal tests" part that i discovered Hey this does not work.

I usually go through and try all the settings, run the default tables vpx comes with including the nudge table

that's when i realized nudge did not work right and then tried it on a normal table and confirmed it's fubar

But VPX included Xinput feedback a while back, i figure it may just be something in that change that needs adjusting

Good advice, and I failed to state that I already do that. I am huge on experimentation and offering feedback, so I may as well jump into the 3D arena to see how well it works.  I already use that feature in FP/BAM, but I miss the SSF that VPX does so well.

It's great to see the coders are so responsive to feature requests. I have never seen a hobby (and I have many) where supporters move so quickly to satisfy the users.  Somebody says, "I wish.." and BANG! A new feature!

** UPDATE **

I downloaded the most recent build and copied only the Vpinball.exe file into my folder.  I still have analog nudge, and the anaglyph stereo works great. Perhaps because I didn't bring over any of the other files in the package I was able to retain the nudge feature.

You should always take the DLL's and scripts
You never know when one of those has been updated

I took your advice (after first backing up the old DLL files and the Script folder).

Everything still works, including analog nudge.  Not sure what makes my setup special, but I have tried the past three builds edited by Toxie and see nothing but good things happening. I'm using the standard Pinscape/KL25Z plugged into the USB port on my Dell G5 5000 with a Radeon RX 5300. My PC is connected to three monitors via HDMI on my AtGames Legends Pinball cabinet, and I am running the latest version of Windows 10 (21H2).

There's no question that nudge is present.  I can shake my cab when the ball is sitting in the trough or captured by a flipper, and the ball absolutely jiggles up-and-down and back-and-forth.

Maybe it would help if you show your nudge settings in preferences.

the dead zone in particular.

The other day I tried raising mine from 7 to 10 and all nudging stopped I had to move it back down to 7 or below. And I'm still using version 297 still, because i mostly use VR now and the builds are based of older 10.7 versions.Just wondering if the dead zone may be the issue here?

Apparently I am not allowed to paste images here, but my Dead Zone is zero, with X and Y at 150%. Those seem to be the defaults since I haven't tinkered with them.

Yes you can
2 ways you can pick to do it

1) Use an image site that allows hot linking (i use imgur.com)
then click the image button in the post editor and paste the direct URL to the image

2) Use VPF image host which you will see at the top of this web page, and upload image there
then copy the link and do the same with it as above

Method 2 the only downside is you cant find your image later, or i can not

Cant be
150% deadzone would be no movement, as an axis cannot move beyond 100% and your deadzone would be 50% larger than the total axis travel

Dan said his dead zone is zero. have you tried lowering your deadzone with the current version?

You need some deadzone or the accelerometer input can wind up in perpetual motion

but 150% is too much, 10% might make sense

the final version is expected before the end of the year?

the one I have is the 349 (it is mentioned final) , but it is still not available for download at the beginning of the post ?

strongly that we are getting rid of dx9.

even for the compilation, in 2021 it claims xp !!!!!!

rev349 is up (Release Candidate):

- expose Contrast & Desaturation for Anaglyph 3D modes and also offer flipped Anaglyph modes
- add various anaglyph (e.g. red/cyan) 3D stereo glasses modes to the video preferences
- Emit additional help-message/error, if running exclusive fullscreen via RDP
- Make GetMaterial's out params be of type VARIANT, so it can be used from VBScript without "Type mismatch" errors (thx CraftedCraft)
- use newest UPX artifact

Just reminding that analog nudge is still borked in 10.7

Is it?  I'm running a RC version and my Pinscape nudge works fine.

If you are running anything within the last 20 builds i think you will find it is not working fine.

Open the nudge test table

Try and nudge ball sideways

ball only goes UP

Nudge it Realllllly hard

Ball only goes UP

Got a joystick?
Plug it in
Hold it to 1 side
All balls should slam into the side of the table right?
But they dont, in fact they do not continue to do anything, but they should due to the continued input
all they do is bump UP and come back.

Also, you have to increase the nudge a hell of a lot to get the balls to do anything

Now while the balls are not doing a damned thing you tell them to, look at the indicators on the apron
they are moving correctly, but the balls are definitely not

I second this man.

Gonna chime in. Left-right nudge works for me.

Running rev 338 on Windows 10 with a kl25z running Pinscape in a slightly janky homebuilt cabinet.

x-max=100 x-gain=425

y-max=100 y-gain=425

deadzone=0

"Enable Nudge Filter" is checked

What do you mean by perpetual motion? My setup seems to be working fine.

UPDATE:

Changing deadzone to 10% killed all nudge. Changing to 5% made nudge barely perceptible. Changing to 1% was acceptable.

Can you plow ALL the balls on the table into the left or right side of the table and hold them there?
If you take the KL25Z in your hand and thump the left side of it into your palm
every ball on the table should try to beat a hole in the left side of the screen, like you just flipped the cab over on the floor.

If they dont do that, it probably is not working right, because it is not working right for anyone else either.

A gamepad is somewhat easier to test with because the nudge force does not go away until you let go
so you can sling the balls around the table in a circle when it works right
