I too was having problems with Pinball FX2 DMD video flickering on my PinDMD3. The video would play, but the screen would flicker red very often.
I am running Windows 7 64bit and tried the tip to change "Adjust Visual Effects" to "Adjust for Best Appearance", but that didn't fix the problem for me. It seemed like it wasn't getting video fast enough, so I started messing with the fps setting. The PinDMD3 is able to do 60 fps, but dmdext defaults to 25 fps. http://www.pindmd.com
Adding --fps 60 fixed the problem for me! At 45 it was much better, but I would still get a few red flickers, so I took it to the max.
I also tried setting it all the way down to 1 fps just to see if the problem would go away, but it did not.
So, I'm running the following command from within PinballX when launching FX2 and it's now working great!
dmdext mirror --source=pinballfx2 --no-virtual -q --fps 60
My Performance Option, Visual Effects is set back to "Let Windows choose what's best for my computer".
My specs: Intel i5, 8GB Ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti, Win7 64bit
dmdext v1.4.0, VP10.2 final, VPinMame 2.8b, PinballX 2.28, B2S 1.3.0.2
Thank you Freezy for the awesome software! I'm so happy to see my Pinball FX2 using the beautify DMD! Thanks a TON!
