With the latest version, I had pretty much the same experience.   I dragged the DMD window where I wanted it.    Then, on the next load, it appeared in the wrong place, because the INI file had display 1, not display 3 where I left it.    It did save the x, y, and sizing.   Easy fix and now it works well.

Great work with this, I wouldn't have put FP on my cab without it.

i have a problem

i have future pinball and futuredmd 1.7b running , dmd is on screen 3.

when i start a table it moves the dmd 20% to the right, i move it back, then quit the table and restart, it moves it again 20% to right side

(monitor 1) playfield -> (monitor 2 )backglass -> (monitor 3)dmd  all in a row, windows 7 ultimate latest nvidia drivers.

now when i move montiro 3 ABOVE monitor 2, its all good, it stays same position.

BUT visual pinball cant have negative DMD XY coordinates, so i cant set it above monitor 2 :(

below monitor 2 is moving the DMD 20% downwards...

setting monitor 3 between monitor 1 and 2 puts the dmd on monitor 2

Any idea?

Hi mwg,

Try right clicking the futuredmd window and under "select screen"  manually click screen 3. then drag it into position. It should hopefully stay there.

i solved this by moving screen 3 under screen 1 :otvclap:

Is it possible to have support for dmd like in alien legacy? they are movie and graphical based.

i am unable to get the dmd onto the third screen

Hi all,

If this has been answered already, I apologize in advance.  I've been searching for the past hour through Google and couldn't find anyone make mention of it.  I have FutureDMD 1.7 installed and running perfectly with all games on my Pink2k cabinet.  However, I have one game in particular, Iron Man Gold 1.07 that has some sort of DMD overlay built into the game.  FutureDMD is able to pull the main DMD over onto the 3rd screen, but the overlay doesn't come over, so sometimes the right side of the FutureDMD is blank if there is an animation happening.  For those that do not know, the overlay is used for video sequences/animation on the DMD.  Has anyone gotten the overlay to work with FutureDMD, or is there a new version of this table that has the overlay merged into the DMD so that FutureDMD can read it all in one shot?  Let me know if thise doesn't make sense.  :)  Thank you!

Hello all, I try everything I can :(

I have the problem for the 3rd screen, where I like to be the DMD.

I try

1) Manually change to screen 3 in DMD options

2) Manually change the ini files to overwrite to screen 3

3) I try version 1.7 and 1.8

4) With Bam, without bam

5) reboot my PC :)

6) Move screen 3 in bottom of screen 2, of screen 1

And more.

My setup is screen 1 and 2 on nvdia GTX-ti 650 and 3rd screen onboard intel graphic.  Could it be the reason ?

I observe in ini files that it doesn't really like screen 3.  It change to screen 2.

Any hint ?

Hi all! Sorry for long post! I have futureDMD working great on all of my tables! I decided to try the plugin for pinballx. I want to have the high scores for each table display while selecting tables.I followed the instructions (at least I think I did). I made futuredmd startup with windows by putting the .exe in the startup folder. Copied the .dll to pinball plugin folder, ran plugin manager and selected the FutureDMD plugin. edited the pinball confg "Launch before executable" - FutureDMD_Relay.exe Launch Before Parmas - table="[TABLEFILE]" close=1.

My issue is it works fine while selecting a table to play it shows all the correct info however when I launch a table PinballX displays the LOADING screen but table never loads unless I hit the ESC key then it works with no problem. I know that 2 versions of futuredmd is being started up. My first version which starts with windows and allows the dmd to show info about each game in pinballx and another seems to be starting when I launch the table. So when I hit the esc key it must close one instance and thus allowing FP to start.

I must need to do something In pInballX to fix this behavior put I'm not sure what it is. Any suggestions?

Also thank you so much for this awesome program! Really makes a big difference!

NEVERMIND. I figured it out I had to change launch before program from yes to no.

Guys I need some help! This has been driving me crazy for 2 days! I have a 3screen setup. I had Pinball X, Future DMD, Future pinball and Visual pinball all working in perfect harmony on my mock setup. I recently built the backbox for my pincab and mounted a tv and a 15" monitor (dmd). When I started it up I had to move where the dmd is displayed because I now have a speaker panel. I can move it just fine. Here is the problem it is just like mwg posted above when I start a table the dmd shifts 20% or so to the right! I have tried various setting installs all gert the same issue. I did move the monitor below the primary one in windows and that fixed it but then the dmd's for visual pinball do not work. Please help! Like I said I have tried and tried to get the DMD to not shift when a future pinball table is loaded. I think it's something to do about negative coordinates I just don't know how to fix.

I have added these pics. Also I have tried every number I can think of for POS. in windows my screens are numbered 1 playfield, 2 back box, 3 DMD from left to right.

Pos meaning screen position. Not the other meaning! Lol.

thanks outhere for the suggestions! I tried different resolutions didn't make a difference. I even created a custom resolution to what outhere suggested but still shifted to the right. I did try that program last night but I was using it to try ans get visual pinball dmds ser correctly when I had my 3rd monitor under my 1st monitor. Unfortunately couldn't get the dmds to size correctly in visual pinball but having the screens ordered this way allowed futuredmd to work correctly. So I'm going to work on this again tonight. Anyone have any other suggestions? I just don't understand that this all l worked before I put the speaker panel on so I would think all I had to do was drag the futuredmd to the middle of the monitor instead at the top where it was before.

Did you re-register your B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp.exe In Visual Pinball

This is how I have my setup

-

FutureDMD Always On
If you prefer, you can create a shortcut to the FutureDMD .exe and add it to the Windows startup
folder. The software uses minimal resources when not being fed any frame data and will leave a pixel
display in an "off" state. This adds to the illusion of a real dmd. If you also use Visual Pinball on your
cabinet it should load it's virtual dmd over top of the Future DMD in a smooth transition. (if you sized
them the same).
If you want to use custom colors with the "always on" method simply pass the table name through
FutureDMD_Relay.exe with your front end. In this set up the Future dmd is always loaded so similar to
the examples above you would pass the table name like this:
In PinballX use these lines instead of the ones listed above -
LaunchBeforeEnabled=True
LaunchBeforeWorkingPath=(your future pinball folder) example: C:\emulators\Future Pinball
LaunchBeforeExecutable=FutureDMD_Relay.exe
LaunchBeforeParameters=table="[TABLEFILE]"

Hi umpa, I'm out of town right now so I can't test anything.Have you checked your future pinball settings? Does screen2 match your backbox tv's pixel capabilities?

edit:

I just saw your pics above. You should try setting PosScreen=2 and then reposition futureDMD. In your set up , PosScreen=0 is the playfield, PosScreen=1 is the backbox and , PosScreen=2 is your dmd.

I'm pretty sure that should fix you up.
