Rav, does the 2 ps3 cameras have to be modified with lens filters in order for this to work. Thanks
Yes. They have to be modified.
Normal cams have build in IR-filter (remove IR light) and don't see well IR-LEDs.

So I have had some time getting some actual gameplay in with eyetoy headtracking and well I am very very impressed!.
For some reason I did not expect the headtracking to improve the experience this much.
Sure its nice to look into and around the table and has that wow factor but when playing you don't move about that much (me anyway) so having the cams on the backbox works great.
The extra comprehension of depth with one eye closed is shocking and adds immensely to gameplay.
Anyway I tried to capture some one handed gameplay to illustrate this but it just falls short of capturing the effect.
Rav donation sent and duly deserved.

ok i am having big trouble setting up wii remotes, they set up in windows (win 7 32bit), i get the battery indicator working sometimes? now all of a sudden the remotes are fully charged but show 50% on the 1 remote and nothing on the other remote. but they wont go any further ,im also getting lock ups when i press q to exit and sometimes lock up when left alone for a little legnth of time with the latest version of bam ,they dont seem to see the calibration board although i did get it to calibrate 1 time but then froze when i tried to save. it just seemed to do different things everytime i restarted bam. not really sure where im going wrong. also how can i tell if my calibration board is working right? have tested with the meter and it has 3v going to each ir led but they dont light up which i assume they dont?

1. Don't trust battery status as indicator of properly connected wiimotes. Below it is "Cam ID". It is id number of wiimote. If both values must be grater than 0 and diffrent. Battery status is updated, then cam see dots. If wiimotes don't work, look at WiiPair if both are connected (and press "A" button on wiimote, if leds start blinking, it means than it is not connected).
2. If You use frontend (like hyperpin) it use key "Q". Try to change menu key in BAM.cfg file to other key.
3. If cam see calibration board, it will display in "cam view" frame 4 dots. When You move calibration board thes 4 dots will move.
4. IR LED usly operate at 1 - 1.5V if You check with multimeter, and get 3V it usly mean, that You have to revers polarity (switch + and - ).
5. To simply and fast check if IR led is workink, use Your cellphone camra. You should see light from IR-LED on cell phone.
If You have small batter from clock (or PC matherboard) like CR2032 You can connet IR-LED without any wire to it. It will glow (only cellphone camera will see light).
Is there a newer version of future pinball than the 1.9..... version on the website? I finally got the face recognition working for the ps3 eye toy but anytime I try to leave the menu it locks up on me.
Last time i checked, there is no update of future pinball for over 2 years.
If You have problem with PS3 Eye toy ... check list:
- test it with CL-Eye test
- make sure, that it is connected alone to "USB port pair" (USB port are mouted in pairs on motherboard, 2 ports share bandwith, if You have connetec PS3 EyeToy with other device it will make problem at high res)
- You can reduce FPS for cam. It will not make big difference (in "Simple PS3Eye" mode)

Try this:
create dir "cfg" in BAM dir.
copy all tables .cfg files to it.
Let me know if it helps.

I have the same problem on windows 7 64 bits... with the previous version it hasn't happen.... i wonder.. what if you are installing for the first time this last version? and you don't have any CFG file generated? how should i proceed? do i create the "BAM"dir... and automaticaly the CFG files start to generate in that dir? what if I don't have any CFG files to "move"? THanKS!!! (it happens when to try to save...)

So I uninstalled FuturePinball, reinstalled, reinstalled BAM, plugged EyeToy directly into PC and still everytime I go into the menu, hit the ~ to exit back out and it locks up everytime.
I'm running XP 32 bit. Any ideas?
Did the cfg directory mentioned above, no longer crashing.

Ok. this solution works. I is probly my error.
BAM v0.7 try to save table.cfg files in cfg folder. For some reason sometimes BAM don't have rights to save files in this folder (or can't create it). I don't check it and this is why BAM crashes.
If You make clean first run -> create cfg folder in BAM dir.

Probly same reason like in post above Yours.
Please create cfg dir in BAM folder and try again.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong now. I installed the 1 PS3 Eye just like the install instructions. I've got a constant blue box of my face but no info in the tracking.
Do I have something going wrong with the driver or am I not enabling it somewhere else?
Thanks to those who've helped me today and especially ravar, this is a super cool thing to do.

Read instruction about "3 points".

You have few options to increase performace (FPS procesed from cam).
First if You set in FP menu to use only one cored -> unchecki it (Preferences -> Vider / Rendering options -> Procesor Afinity)
- set res to 640x480 (it will work in this res).
- set detection pattern to :haar 1
- set step scale: 1.20
Next options will increase preformance.
Min. Face size: - increase it. If You increse it too much blue square will disapher (BAM will stop detecting Your face), -> decresi it little bit.
This should increase FPS.
After this go to Reality menu and adjust smoothering options to get smooth cam moves.

Thanks, I got it picking up ok, but with the 3 points it mentions using the IR. I'm a little fuzzy on the procedure. Where do I stand? Do I want my head to be at the bottom of the screen left, then right? I'm trying to not get too far into it. I'll be finishing my backbox this week. Trying to figure out the best place to mount the sensor or if I should buy a second.
Thanks again, much appreciated.

With single cam only 2 points from "3 points" setup are used.
First point is on left border, so try to put Your head above red diamond on left border.
Second point - same thing but on right border.
Third point is not used in calculations but You have to set it. BAM will accept any point.
Now small tweek.
In "3 points" BAM thinks, that Your eye/camera is at center of Your face and also think, that when You pressed enter, cam/eye was a level of screen. It is not true. Your Eye was few inches above. You have to set this difference as "Shift Y" in reality menu. It is usly ~4 - 5 inchs. If You have space betwen screen and edge of You cabine (for example You mounted glass few inches above screen), You shoud add this distance to Shift Y (or input it in Reality Menu, then BAM will add it).
