I'm using 10.7 for about a year now as an end user.
I noticed lately that tables takes much longer time to load into the editor.

For example, "Surf'n Safari v1.3.1" , when I click in edit for this tables, , it takes 91 seconds before it shows in the editor.
Th eprogram shows a couple of time "Not responding", but continues.
I did a procmon and noticed that it had 3 times a timeout for around 30 seconds. (these are the moments that the program gets in a not responding )
Running the table when all is loaded in the editor is fine and is pretty quick. Only the initial load

Doing the same with the 10.6 pinballx.exe, the table loads in the edior within 6 seconds.
Above table is just an example, I have more of these tables, that take a long time to load

Is there any debugging log  I can enable, so I can see why it is taking a long time to load the table in the editor ?

I use to get that delay when I run VPX as administrator. But the delay went to normal when I do not run VPX as administrator.

Thanks jp. Will check that later on. It could be that my vpx exe is set to run as admin.

Althought the exe was set to run as admin, it didn't solve the issue when unchecking it

Would it be possible to enhance the select elements selections so you could add a element to a collection or layer directly from within that section.

Thanks

Guys having problems with Tables made in 10.7 beta and AMD new 6000 series video cards.  The 6700xt in this case. Take a look. Not sure if this is an AMD problem or maybe something that can be addressed in the 10.7 betas.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure as i can not reproduce it here with AMD

and i made alien warrior in 10.7 and with an AMD card so no idea exactly what is going on for you there

The reason i had you try alien warrior is i am using no primitives in it, no models etc

except for the pegs and bumper caps and gates

Just a normal playfield and a 2k png image

the plastics are all walls, rails are all ramps
and no table over rides on graphics settings

And yet the playfield disappeared for you?

Yep. Playfield is gone. It appears on the edit mode and with an nvidia card. Convinced it is driver related.

Here is an example from Twister. I am trying to find alien warrior rom to fully load it. Ok. Not quite sure how to upload an image without making it a url.  Will upload image later. Sorry. Yes. simple playfield image disappears.

i use imgur.com

and then paste the URL into the dialog that comes up when you click the little image button in the post editor

And Alien Warrior's ROM comes with the table itself, it's in the zip file
In fact that is the only place currently you will find a functioning ROM for it

Hoping @Toxie or @Fuzzel sees this
Also kind of wish some of the other people that had gotten the 6700 and 6900 cards could chime in on what they are seeing

Have you activated the alternative depth buffer in the video preferences? Or it could be a driver issue.
I had those issues multiple times in the past when updating to newest drivers.

I have and unfortunately that did not work. Have tried multiple versions of the drivers.  Another individual has tried many different fixes too https://www.vpforums...hp?showforum=37.

On the same rig if i put in an NVidia card it works fine. Its really strange. Hoping a future amd driver will somehow address it. 6700xt amd.  Not earlier amd cards. Can't speak for 6800 either. Don't have one.

Hmm indeed strange. I can't test this because I have only Nvidia cards in my systems.

Yep.  Not a show stopper, but a conundrum for sure. Thank you for thinking on it.

what are the rendering differences between F6 and F5?

COuld a test build possibly be put together that allows toggling some of that stuff on and off to maybe pinpoint at what point things are coming apart?

Could not find any reference to this issue while searching

On any Textbox after I click the Font selection control the fontsize is always really tiny and cannot be changed even on the blank table

using RC_310

You can not do this? (RC 319 because RC310 is old)

You will probably need to post it up at AMD as a bug, i kind of doubt they will know about VPX left to themselves

Do you know what version of 10.7 last worked for you?

if you go on github to the oldest action available, does it still mess up?

So, on this rumble feature (RC 323)

I have gotten Xinput to work, and Dinput

Can it be coded at some point to adjust strength and perhaps rumble patterns? or which motors it is actuating?
it is a wee bit on the wimpy side compared to what the controller can do

For anyone using a controller that is rumble-ish

It will do generic rumble on any table, flippers only
but if you add DOF events to the table script, it does seem to follow them, though i have no idea how it knows the difference between a DOF event you feel and a DOF event that is just turning a lamp on or off

Maybe it does not yet, will have to maybe try the DOF test table and see if it vibrates on things like RGB LED events etc?

Still, it is kind of neat, if you were hacking up a gamepad to make a controller for a cheap cab, you could get a little DOF out of it for free, or if you are just playing with a controller

And can we look into what causes these errors?

Yv5u021.png

4pJtbY4.png

Always same exact error

@wiesshund

Yes I get the dialog box as you show but after applying any font change the text when I run the table goes to tiny. How do I get a version after 310? this is the last release I see in github and in the first post of this topic
