Supposedly it's still very effective because a lot of our depth perception cues come from the movement of our head and a big part of the the sense of immersion comes the wide field of view it provides.
The first Oculus dev kit didn't have positional tracking and John Carmack who is the CTO at Oculus said he would trade stereoscopic vision in a heartbeat for good positional head tracking because it's much more important for the overall effect than stereo vision.
Here are a few good posts on that.

Try to get some\any exposure through to steam users.
You're obviously going to have to go through the back door to get message out, but finding relevant forums & community's on there will help target other gamers rather than pinheads.
I created a Pinball Labs "Steam Greenlight Concept" page.
If you are on Steam it could use some upvotes / favorites and sharing on activity feeds and groups. ![]()

Edit:
I also added a page on indiedb.com

Just thinking about media exposition. Why you guys don't contact Todd Tuckey from TNT Amusements so he can mention it on one of his videos and post link/info in youtube.
Youtube channel: https://www.youtube....r/tntamusements
Oficial website: http://www.tntamusements.com/
Even John's from Jhon's Arcade can mention you in his youtube channel.
Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/blkdog7
They have a lot of views and Arcade/Pinball Fans all over the world.
TRY IT!
tmek!
I love those guys videos but I can't imagine they would want to promote a virtual pinball kickstarter since they deal with real pinball. I guess it couldn't hurt to ask though.
I have seen videos of both guys doing this kind of stuff. Why? Because is a good cause and good business.
Trust me ![]()

You could play up the angle of using this as a virtual test platform for people making real pinball machines based on the integration with the Mission Pinball Framework? (That's the angle I'm playing up on my end.)
There is so much more potential for pinball labs than simply recreating tables to play. Hopefully if this goes through it will be used to create some real tables. More real tables created the better off pinball is.

I am on there, but don't really use it myself.
I'll log in and do my bit..

I posted to /r/Oculus
This one could be pretty crucial for the project so please stop by and give it some love.

@tmek....Maybe you could consider adding a limited higher-level donation level with some cheesy prize? Like 20-$100 dollar donations for "Pinball Labs Board Member (Non-voting Member)"
"Honors and benefits for only $100 dollars"
"Be sure to contribute to the Kickstarter!"
I will hit the KS up again after the first of the year.... ![]()
The only problem: Some clown would probably put "Member of the Board of Directors - Pinball Labs" on their Linkedin profile...lol
Edit: That clown would probably be me...![]()

I sent a PM to Shutyertrap over at PBAFans about a mention or maybe a Q&A on their podcast. I guess we will see what happens there. I don't know how tied they are to FS, which maybe an issue.
If it gets mentioned on their podcast I'll be very surprised but it's worth a try. Worst he can do is say no.

It's been a crazy first four days. I've been waking up, sitting in front of my computer with about 20 browser windows open. Posting to some sites, then going back to others to answer questions. Emailing friends and colleagues in the VR community. It's definitely been working. Though I'm starting to feel like my personal social marketing "well" is about tapped at this point. Sadly, I really though the r/oculus post would do much better than it did. I may have just posted it at a bad time of day/week.
At this point I think the next thing for me to do is do a re-release of my "Star Trek Voyager" VR demo. It was fairly popular so perhaps I can use that as a vehicle to get more eyes on Pinball Labs.

Hi,
I saw the post on REDDIT and I've supported your Kickstarter campaign. If I can offer some guidance, provide regular updated on the kickstarter site and cross post some of these on Reddit. The more often we inject fresh news, the more people will come around.
My personal time seems microscopic these past 6 months, but when I have some time, it's playing with the DK2 I got a few months ago. This thing is evil, with a few exceptions it's just about killed gaming for me and has certainly redefined what is "3D" (which is certainly not what we see at the theatres or on 3D TV's). Just fantastic stuff, I'm so "all in", that I'll find a way to get funds to purchase the Oculus CV1, Vive and PSVR on release as they will all offer something unique. I need help! LOL
Congrats again, will try out your demo in the next few days.

I'm starting to get the idea that I need one of these occu things. how much are they and can i even buy one yet? if not is there another one i can buy? i want one tomorrow as long as its under a thousand bucks or so i wont have to sell any guitars or pinball machines to get one, if its over a thousand bucks does one of you guys want to buy my girlfriend cause i like my pinball machines and guitars (looking over shoulder every 4 seconds clicking post and quickly closing web browser) I'll check back in awhile to see if anyone links me to a good page to by an Occu thing,i'll be able to make my second wizard contribution as soon as i land a vr headset that just became first priority, oh and in case i need to raise some cash the girl i will sell you is hot but shes really annoying and will probably just steal your car and never go home with you so no refunds.

tmek will this work with other vr headsets as well? maybe something like the visus that uses your high resolution smartphone as the screen and only costs $150? cause if it will work with cheaper VR headsets i could contribute more to your cause as i will have alittle more cash after getting one, cause it would be great to get something cheap to tide me over the occulus is actually released and the price gets alittle lower cause i cant pay $1300 right now to get a dk2 from the rapists on ebay...
