Wow. So much words since my last visit! Some nice, some angry, we understand that.
We did not disappear without "a word". Please read history.
Indeed, we did not update the website license. That is because the downloads were lowering and that we thought it useless as this has been spread on different locations.
We did not "take the money and disappear": using this money, we built a FREE game, developped it and created a gaming experience, available for all. The lack of support regarding table developpement was really discouraging, and, together with muiltiple personal facts, led to a "death" of the project, at least under this form. We never used thid money for something else than this game, delivered to the community.
For those who still want to develop tables, my videos are still available on my youtube. I understand the table dev process is boring with all runtime recompilation, but this was mandatory on Unity 4.x.
Now regarding development and open source, we still work, from times to time, to the port of it to new Unity versions. The goal is to provide a set of dll to build and develop tables right into the free unity 2017. But useless to say that we don't spend very much time on it. No open source unless it is working.
If people think this is selfish, so be it. We don't care, and we invite them to develop their own open source simulator. With free Unity, this is something people can do from scratch, which regarding the current state of the port, is quite the same.
We are pinball fans too, and we hope we will be abale to play one of your creations!
