Thanks guys for all the feedback regarding fps and hardware. So it seems for me that the table is playable with most hardware. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But to tell you the truth - presently I don't know where to find performance on that table any more.

So here's a new version: http://www.goertz-od...TS_VP10_WIP.vpx

- Added full desktop support

- Added missing sounds

- Added missing target handling

- Some graphical corrections

- Added missing parts like screws, rivets, etc.

- Hopefully fixed the ball stuck problem (Sorry guys, I wasn't able to reproduce it)

Table is still under construction. Still to do:

- Replace desktop background image with a better one

- Replace wire gate mounting at lower slingshots with better ones

- Add missing screws on lower slingshots

- Re-position the flashers

Thanks once more to Talantyyr for the excellent screenshot of the stuck ball. Man, what kind of screen do you have? The resolution is phantastic!

So if the physics are not okay, please tell me, and I'll try to align.

Fren,

what are you doing? Running the pc with 400 volts?

Hahaha, you're welcome! Can't thank you (and all the table devs out there) enough for all the great work you're doing! :)

That's a QNIX QX2710 Monitor. 27" @1440p (2560x1440) with an IPS Display. Cheap but a very great monitor, i can only recommend it.

I'll try the new WIP tomorrow and let you know if i can reproduce the ball stuck issue. Thx for the update.

Reports: No more stuck ball

C of C-I-T-Y ramp (left ramp) have something that when the ball hit the gate wire it moves the ball like it hit something and move it to the center. Check that out, it's not equals than the right ramp that should be the same .. right? I don't know for sure, maybe is like that in the real table? First time playing it, great table, a lot of fun! Oh and it looks like the ball runs more smoothly now on the right ram, maybe do the same to the left ramp?

Specs: i5, gtx 650

168.7 avg FPS

no ball trails/motion blur (hate it), no fxaa, no 4x AA, all other things I think are by default enabled (ambient, anisotropic)

Vampiro,

Thanks for the quick feedback. I believe the problem with the stuck ball was a friction of 1(!!!) on the ramps. I copied the ramps over from the physmod version of the table, but since VP10 the friction on ramps is no longer ignored (in earlier versions, a constant friction of 0,3 was used), So I changed the in the actual version the friction to 0 on the (hidden flat-)ramps under the wire ramps. The smooth rolling ball should work on all ramps now.

And also thanks for the feedback regarding the ramp entry. The same problem also existed on the right ramp (Y), it's fixed within the next update.

How much memory has your gtx 650 -> 2GB?

Cheers

Heino

It's been my experience using a couple different setups that Visual pinball in general is much more Graphics card and memory dependent than cpu dependent. You should probably have a 2gb vid card as a minimum if you want to run everything smooth. Your i5 is plenty. just up the video card.

Sindbad I'm running an i5 3.4 16gb ram gtx650ti 2gb... the ball never got stuck... but i did have a little shutter at 89fps

with that fps you need to have fxaa and/or 4xaa applied right?

isnt FXAA and 4XAA just anti-aliasing and thats what beats up the vcards and gives even lower FPS??

yes. Do you have that enabled? Because 89fps is a little low if you DONT have those options enabled.

I get about the same FPS with FXAA enabled on truck stop, only 4gb ram, with an i7, same gfx - plays smooth as butter though. What are we doing differently? are you getting stutter all the time, like a jerky ball, or only sometimes?

Fripounet,

could you please be a little more precise? What does exactly mean "the table is dark"?
