Sorry Fuzzel.

Version 186 still crashes at startup when the ledset and ledoff executables are present in the settings.ini.

Removing these executables allows version 186 to run perfect and shows all of my tables correctly. (which is great!)

Am I doing something wrong here?  Is there a way to use 186 with led control?

Thanks

Nick

your settings.ini is wrong for PS ;)
you have two options fixing it:
1. set Executable = LEDSet.bat (without the path in front, this will work if your program and PS are in the same folder)
or
2. if a executable is somewhere else be sure to use the Working_Directory and just enter the file name of the program
to Executable
e.g. Executable = LEDset.bat
Working_Directory = C:\Hyperpin\

This is now working for me with correct path settings in .ini  (hyperpin too)

I especially like the new exit option to hold the button, even within the exit menu or straight from table menu.

Thanks so much!

Executable          = LEDSet.bat
Parameters          =
Working_Directory   =
WinState            = HIDDEN

[Exit Program]
Executable          = LEDClear.bat
Parameters          =
Working_Directory   =
WinState            = HIDDEN

As I said in another post, your database seems to be somewhat broken. You could enable the debug option in the settings (under PinSelect set DebugMode=Yes). Do you use an initial filter (VP,FP,Favorites)?

In the xml files are there missing parts for a game (e.g. manufacturer,type,year missing)? PinSelect is a bit more strikt to the database layout otherwise the filter options won't work.

Hmmm.....

Don't know where you mentioned problems with my database, because this is your answer to my previous question:

"No that's not the same error. Something went wrong rendering the wheel/icon.

Ahh I found the bug :D

I assume you guys didn't define a working directory in startup/exit program section? If there isn't a path defined PS will fail starting the program.

Final v1.86 will be out soon".

But thanks to you I found out what the problem is. I used Favorites as a filter.

Thanks again.

I'm still thinking it would be a good idea to be able to use the nudge buttons to jump to previous/next sections within the filter menu. As of now to get to the years you have to get to hold the flipper button down but the selection highlighting disappears and you have no idea where it is until you let go. If you could just hit the right nudge twice you would already be in that category.

Just a thought.

On a side note, I have a crappy PC. Curious what the wheel scrolling speed is for those of you with more powerful rigs, especially letter jumping.

Here's a quick video of my wheel scroll speed, curious how quick others is. I'm deliberately hitting the buttons so you can hear and see what's happening. I started with table by table, then table press and hold. Then letter skip, then letter skip hold.

@Jason,

Would you like to share your custom ps_barTexture.png with us?

Yep! I would like to add this one in the next release :D

@Jason:

What computer do you use? PS load/scales every image while loading, I don't use a cache system because that would consume memory you could better use for pinball games ;)

So to speed up scrolling speed you need a fast HDD, RAM and CPU...so erhm a new system :D

Here you go, but before you use this be warned. I just threw this together, by no means means is it perfect and I have no idea what it'll look like on your system. I mean it, it was literally just tweaked and tweaked and tweaked without any forethought.

My settings:

WheelBarPosition = 1
WheelBarHeight   = 300

https://dl.dropboxus..._barTexture.png

fuzzel sadly there's no new PC in my future as my current hardware can't be upgraded and I'll need everything. I was lucky enough to actually have PCI slot to put a decent video card in, that has saved me for the time being.

It's an old HP xw6200 workstation with dual xenon processors (p4's essentially) running at 3.0ghz. Win7 64bit with 4g of old ram and a 80g 7200rpm drive. Thankfully I was able to put a decent 650Ti OC 1G card in it.

Hey fuzzel, regarding the exit menu. Would it be possible to always reset the selection to "Back" upon exiting the menu. I'm trying to get my speed up to select things but I always forget where I last left off. If it always reset to "Back" then anyone can do it blindly and quickly. ie. exit key, one click and enter will always get to the filter.

Of course you can mod it. Since it's so easy to make one my guess is there will many of them soon enough. At least I hope people will share their creations...

On a side note, I've had PS running all day and played a few games. I've noticed now that after I exit a game it stops rotating tables for the attract mode, strange.
