I've got a number of them going at the moment and am super happy with the results. (Older and DMD based tables). When Herweh approves a release of the designer and the associated backglass files I'll spill the beans :)  One thing I will say though is that even with very, very complex lighting effects the tables run super smoothly which pitches the whole virtual experience into a new realm.  Well they have for me at any rate and I'm sure you guys are going to love the results.

I won't hold out much hope for the super smooth experience, when I tried Elvira it was stutter hell for me, even changing timings.

Sorcerer played well though, so fingers crossed.

Thanks to Herweh and testers.

Any chance pre Christmas???

Have you checked the color depth of your backglass screen at 'Windows settings'? Has to be set to 32 bit.

AMD Quad 3.2Ghz, GTS450, XP32, 32bit Backglass.

Shots around monster slide, F11 score went as low as 90, worst ball movement I've ever had on a table.

Looks like I chose a good time to get back into pinball emulation.  I'm very much looking forward to seeing how this develops.

I am one of the beta testers. After an initial V0.5, Herweh has released a 0.7 version to the testers containing some bug fixes and major improvements.

I am novice in VP design and after carefully reading the help file of Herwehs program, it took me about 2 hours to prepare a decent backglass. Most time consuming in this is the search for an appropriated and high resolved backglass file and watching YouTube videos and reading the manual of the respective table to get a feeling how the rom controlled effects should be. The implementation using the Backglass Designer is a piece of cake! In my view everyone who wants to contribute should be able to operate this software.

Biggest improvement for me is a new version of the B2S server allowing to start the backglass as an EXE. This increased performance in my cab tremendously. I am currently running with 0 frame skips and it is super smooth without any stutter. And this with all tables without any exception.

The software is so great and easy to use, the backglasses run impressively smooth that I am convinced that after the official release of Herwehs Backglass Designer this forum will be flooded with numourous high quality B2S backglasses. I know that Herweh is still working on some further features!

Well done Herweh, this is going to be a fantastic contribution for the VP community.

It's very straight forward .. if you're used to creating UVP's the concept is simular to it.

The work in creating a long lasting B2S will (still) be in search of lamp/solenoid/GI corresponding no.'s which you can find in

manuals, vids, pics ('behind BG').

Challenge will still be to create a simular one as close to the real thing that causes no stutter ..

Possitive thing is when the Table gets updated, you don't have to update the B2S => they're not clued together ..

I hope to put more time into it over the next few weeks.

Cheers,

FD.

Hi all,

i'm also doing tests with the BG-Designer. Herweh really do a great Job on this. So far I finished a new Spectrum Backglass with the original Features like the Color Keyboard. Currently I'm working on a Fathom BG which is nearly finished. The next one is the Bride of Pin-Bot.

Regards

Andy

Is a backglass for riverboat gambler possible with this software?
Can the backglass wheel "spin" ?
I thought I read somewhere that Hurricane backglass was in the works.

Hurricane backglass is done and will be released once our table is finished. Not much left to do on the table but don't expect it until next year the Holidays have been busy for us all working on it.

Oh very cool.
Thx for the update.
Hurricane will be a blast to play with the new software / updated table.
Time to relax and spend time with loved ones is definitely more important than hurrying up and knocking out another pinball table.

Hi Aaron,

The BG of the Bride is not finished yet. Currently I'm short in time to work on this. Furthermore Herweh should release this stuff when he descide to make it public.

Greetnings

Hi, guys. This has been asked before on this thread but I don't think anyone provided an answer. Is there anyway to disable the grill on Taxi and have the VPM DMD appear? If I disable the grill, I get no DMD at all. If I start the game without B2S Server the VPM DMD is in the right place so it's not an issue with that.

Cheers,

marauder.

P.S.: Btw, this is absolutely *awesome* work! All the backglasses in this thread work flawlessly on my cab (except the issue with Taxi above). I was never a big fan of Sorcerer but now I can't stop playing it to enjoy the backglass! :) Thanks to all those involved for creating and working on this.

Hi marauder,

thanks a lot for these kind words.

I must have missed this question. Sorry, right now there is a way to remove the special 'B2S DMD' of TAXI but no way to show the standard DMD. I'll think about how to add this into the upcoming server version.

BTW the designer and server beta is still running. A few guys have started creating the first EM backglasses, server based too, WITHOUT any Visual Studio coding. A full screen version of BASEBALL is running this way already.

Once again sorry, please be patient. I know this all take long but I want to release a pretty cool first version of designer and server.

Best regards, Herweh.
