I don't know if anyone else has this issue, but for example , when i play taxi with the new B2S score display (3rd - screen "dmd")...the animation of the ROM is not fast enough for the music/sound effects.
It's almost as if they are out of sync..i notice it especially when i get "joyride" or "jackpot". Does this make sense? Am i just missing something/configuration to solve this problem?
All i know is that it seems like the B2S "slows" down the rom. The rom definitely, for me, plays better with no B2S getting involved...which sucks..because this new B2S program is SO DAMN COOL !
I used to notice it on some of "rosve's" B2S games like funhouse/black knight 2000...really any alpha-numeric (non-dmd) game.

Where is that? I see the GI8 mod, but that's the table, only B2S I see is here: http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=6138

Actually I was wrong, the other B2S is not related to the GI8 mod, I just use it with the GI8 table. But it is from the archive that is NOT labeled as high res.
Try the B2S backglass from this file: http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=5902

The B2S backglass was updated to a bigger spider version but unfortunately as Rosve mentioned it had some of that odd transparency issues around it's hub. That was the latest B2S for Scared Stiff that I am aware of BUT either version works fine with the GI8 MOD - just rename either one to match as they're both interchangeable.

Yeah, I tried both of them (grill and no grill, I want no grill though) and they're all the same spider. I see in the screenshot that it's different, but the ones in the zip are the same one I was hoping to upgrade.

That's interesting. The B2S exe I use looks like the screenshot and it doesn't have the white circle around the spider's body.

If anyone has the old version they can upload for me or point me to it I'd appreciate it, I can't seem to find it now. But my memory is that it had issues too, which is why it was redone with the new one.

Anyways, life goes on, it works and I'm grateful for it, really makes the table. But if there's every an opportunity to upgrade it I'm on record for doing all the graphic work for it. Rosve said he was going to release his source files, maybe once that happens I can muddle through it or team up with someone to fix.

Pinball Maps thinks there's a SS table about 5 miles from my house, if I can find it and the lighting isn't bad I'll try snapping some new photos of the spider with a DSLR.

This version is MUCH better then the one with the white circle around it.
Only drawback, it has a grill.
By chance you don't have a version without a grill for 3-monitor set-up?

Best regards, Ton

Thanks htamas, I can see why this one was upgraded though.

No worries, some day I'll figure out how to fix the high rez one with a better spider. :)

I found the versions with and without grill and with smaller spider on my system (without white circle), just rename the one you need. Here they are:

And now please back to the 'B2S Backglass Designer'. ;)

On my VirtuaPin, i'm trying to play the Taxi table, and all i'm getting is the new B2S backglass (which works fine with the jackpot being displayed), and table playing, but no 3rd screen ROM (scores) ?
In the script, i am trying to show the dmd too (hidden=0)

Is there a setting i need to change?

The scores are not on the 3rd screen, they are embedded in the backglass with this nice Dream7 LEDs. Have you set you backglass to 32bit and registered the B2S-server with the registration app? Like UVP you have to change the table script in the CreateObject Line: Set Controller=CreateObject("B2S.Server") ...

It worked on my cab without any problems!

i can't seem to get the dmd on my 3rd screen either.
If I change from B2S.Server to the usual VPinMame.Controller in the script, the dmd is there so I know it works, but somehow it is hidden.
What am I doing wrong?

I can't wait for the designer, might take off work next week so I can work on making B2S backglasses for tables that need them.

B2S tables needs for correct display a fully correct ScreenRes.txt file. The file needs to include the size and position of the DMD. Maybe your position is not correct? UVP tables don't use that file.

Herweh has a great little tool to display (=prove) and modify the content of the ScreenRes.txt file, if you ask him friendly, maybe he share it with you :-)

'B2S Backglass Designer' beta test will start tomorrow

Who is interested in joining the designer's beta? Who has some time and some patience to have a deeper look into it?

To be honest: I need some testers who want to have a look into the 'depth' of the designer. I need testers who try to understand the background of the designer and give me a lot feedback to improve the designer again and again and more and more. I need someone who has some patience since not everything is finished and normally not everything will work immediatelly and perfectly. I need testers who want to read my very first manual and give me therefor feedback too.

It makes no sense to design 20 lowlevel backglasses in two days. Your goal should be one great backglass in three or four days with a lot feedback for me.

Since I focused the last weeks very much on the new 'B2S.Server' the testers should focus on the new 'directB2S' backglasses I showed you the last weeks. You need absolutely no programming skill to design these backglasses.

IMHO the maximum of testers I can handle is about 5 or 6 so, sorry but maybe, not everybody who wants can join. Please send me a PM when you want to. Hopefully this beta takes not longer than two weeks and we all get the first version of the designer.

Best regards, Herweh.

I would like test this, I have made 5 or so B2S tables that don't use roms. I actually have done nothing in VP since you started this project as I wanted to wait and see how this developed. Oops I posted before I saw the PM part. :)

Got this as well .. specially when multiball is released or a simular event .. unfortunately on Tables where UVP runs smoothly ..

Cheers,
FD.

Well, at least I'm not the only one.
Yea, I shouldn't be able to see a slow down the the rom.
I don't know why it would happen , I just know it does.
I also REALLY notice on b2s Diner when I get "today's specials"

That's great news! So what table are you working on (if any) or is it a secret ?
