its like getting that one Christmas gift on Christmas eve

thanks Dozer it came out great!

Question on the AFM 4.  Everything looks fantastic. Love the blacklight and spinning effects on the saucers.

I do have a question about the bouncey behavior of the ball. Is anyone else experiencing this and can it be addressed with a change in the pf friction settings?

I too was experiencing the bouncy ball behavior on the latest AFM. Not sure if it's just my rig or personal taste but decided to tweak it to my liking. Clark posted his physics settings a few posts back but those produced too drastic a change for my taste. I am certainly no expert on the matter but through trial and error I came up with more neutral settings (IMHO) that result in added ball heft and more accurate aiming. Thought I'd share for others to try out, please feel free to comment good or bad, it's a learning process for us all.

if by bouncy you mean off the flippers when the ball comes down fast and hits them and rebounds .... turn the elasticity down to 40 on the flippers... then adjust from there to your personal taste... its what i did

No, perhaps "bouncy" was not the right way to describe it. More like underweight and floaty. The PF gravity and friction adjustments produced a heftier ball feel, which automatically reduced the perception of excessive bounce off the flippers.

I just had a null fault error on line 475 on Dozer's AFM RTM 6. Happened when I had multiball in full swing. Anyone else experience this? Everything else seems to work 100%.

Hauntfreaks and Dozer - epic team-up! The city-scape on side walls was a stroke of genius. This table brings me back to Chuck-E-Cheese black-light wonderland. Amazing job.

RobertMS - thanks for the physics suggestions. Experimenting with those now...

:)

Dozer brought up the cityscape sides to me... and after looking thru the image manager I seen the graphic, then did a quick search and found out in really was a real life mod... then i knew it needed to be done...

Good job Hauntfreaks. So far really enjoying the table and I think the graphics in the back and sides help bring more depth into the illusion as well as a cool light show. Dozer really outdid himself on this one.

I have it side by side with the pm5 color mod and enjoy what each one brings. Will be keeping both on the cab for sure. Thanks again to both of you.

Amazing new Attack from Mars version. Showed the wife last night, and she initially didn't know the difference; showed her the old definitive version. "WOW" Thats amazing. She played 4 games straight, and doesn't play the cab at all

Holy Frijoles!

This AFM is the most impressive table I've seen on VP, calling it stunning would be major understatement!

After my wife played this, she is giving me a lot less grief for the cash I put into my cab. Hahaha!

Ruling. Brilliant job.

my wife never understood my fascination with wanting to relive my childhood thru my Mame machine, she's not really a fan of videogames in general, and really doesnt get that "old crap" (her words)

but as soon as I had my pin cab working enough to test it, shes liked it, we even have some nights where we play for an hour or two...AFM has been one of her favs to play since playing the FP version...

I showed her Dozer's beta 6 the other night and explained all the new features and I got... "yeah it looks nice"  I didnt expect her to jump up and down or anything... maybe a "wow" would have been nice... but no just a "yeah it looks nice" ... I guess I have to take what I can...

oh she also thinks we're all a bunch of old obsessed kooks... my answer to that is "yeah, and?"  ;)

Mine doesn't seem too interested in the virtual pin stuff, she plays real pins if we go out, but for the most part she lets me waste my time on it and doesn't complain :) lol

Well, I can kinda see my wife's point.
(As you can see in the pic attached if I did it right)
It just may be possible that I've taken this hobby a little too far?
Naw!!!
Gotta build Skee Ball next, hahaha!

My wife plays as much pinball as I do. Actually if it wasn't for her I prob. would of never started even building a cab or tables. So I guess you all can thank my wife for me even being around here.. For the most part wile I'm working on a table it's fine but you know how it gets if she wants to go somewhere or wants to do a project around the house working on VP is second.. lol so for the most part she leaves me alone about it. :-)

My problem started when my wife came into my game room one day, winked at me and then looked toward my virtual pinball machine to which I responded, no way, that's a brand new glass.
