Agreed.  I've played a ton of the current version and really like it!

I agree, the current version is already great.
I think I never saw one in the wild, although 4000 were produced.

CK,

Couple of questions you might be able to help me with.

The red excellent ray plastic model in the back left corner of the table. The real machine I saw recently, this model was pointing a bit downward rather than straight on with respect to the back wall. Not sure if this was correct or if the machine I was looking at might be damaged. Do you know if the ray model points straight on or downward? Internet pics are not helping to determine much.

When the ball inters either of the two vertical up kickers. What is the ball contacting so that it stops rolling and rolls into the vertical up-kicker? Maybe a rubber stopper or deflecter? Remeber it cant be anything that would obstruct the up-kicker. You will from looking at the bare PF, there is a routed out feature just behind where the hole is.

Thanks.

Hey all, I got the opportunity to play a real Dr. Dude (in about 20 years) while on vacation recently. Got lots of video and pics to improve visuals and especially physics. Expect a bad-ass refresh in the coming weeks. I really wish I owned the real thing. What an awesome under-rated pin.

I had one for sale near me recently and I didn't give it a second glance. But you are right, this table is greatly under-rated. Playing your VP version has made me realise what a mammoth opportunity I missed, as Dr Dude is now in my Top 3 VPs. I just love this table so much and to think that you could make it better just blows my mind.

Thought I would post an update.

Lots of lighting and physics changes and countless visual improvements that might be hard to find at first glance.

New dome flashers for the Mixmaster that are more accurately placed.

Also check out those new pop-bumper caps. Thanks dark. :)

I removed the side rails for the FS view and added much nicer ones to the DT view. And new side walls.

And the best news yet. Nfozzy has signed up to make the long awaited Mixmaster prim. :love39:

Okay here is a teaser pic:

Thanks.

The plastic is mounted in almost the same angle as the glass on the pinball machine, on the lower side (where the arrows are) slightly downwards.

Here a picture:

At the vertical up kickers there is no special thing there. The same as on every machine with a vertical up kicker from that time. It's a simple piece of metal behind the hole.

So the plane that the ray mounts to, much be acgled as well. Correct?

If you can get me any more up-close pics of the ray, I plan to work on it as well.

The second pic wont open up. Can you resend?

I do not fully understand what you mean but the ray is mounted to the backboard and the plastic above it but looking to the glass.

Here is the pic again because of the vertical up kicker:

I think on this photo you can better see it:

Thanks guys. That is exactly what I needed.

One more question regarding the movement of the Bully model. Does it move up/down or fron/rear. The slot in the plastic beneath it suggests front to rear. The machine I played recently...it must have been broke.

Tilts back on a crank. There's schematics on page 90 of the manual.

https://www.youtube....HVXAIA&#t=7m05s

Fix the model's position so the origin sits on the axis of the crank. Maybe tie the rotation of the model to the rotation to a low strength flipper so it jiggles a bit when it goes back and forth.

WRD do you know how high the backwall sits on this table (in inches?) I'm running into Z scale issues and I want to confirm that the ramp height is correct

I do not know. Everything was based on best guesses from internet pics.

That said, I do own Bugs Bunny Birthday Ball which is a sister machine. And the back wall on it is 6.5". I will make the wild ass assumption that DD may be the same.

Great, that's what I needed. I'll need to adjust the backwall and the ramp.
